So now you see why we said you needed to watch "This is Love" and "Evanesce" together. :D "This is Love" and "Evanesce" were the opposite sides of a love story. "This is Love" is about how happy you are when you are in love, and "Evanesce" is the sad side of the story about slowly forgetting about your love after you have broken up. During "This is Love" it was supposed to be depicting the part of a relationship where you are happy and in love. But in "Evanesce" that MV is showing how happiness may not always last and sometimes you end up breaking up. The girl fell out of love or didn't feel as passionately about them as they did about her. Like many relationships you start out in love thinking you are going to be together forever (Like what is shown in "This is Love"), but eventually things change and you end up breaking up (Like you see in "Evanesce"). In "Evanesce" they were in the same room but the room looked as though no one had been there for a long time. Evanesce means "to fade away or to leave your sight or memory." So the song is about how they are slowly forgetting about their love and they are sad to be losing the memory of being in love. That is why Eunhyuk is dancing with that girl, and it is almost as if she is a spirit or ghost of a past memory. They go back to the place where they remember being in love hoping to recapture that love and to try and hold on to those memories, but they find that as time has passed nothing is the same any more, and like their memories, even the room has been neglected and forgotten about. Yes, Heechul cut his hair in between shooting "This is Love" and "Evanesce," which worked out well because he said it helped to show the passing of time, and how nothing stays the same. Fun fact: Yesung is not in these MVs because at this time he was still serving in the military. So that is one reason why you saw Heechul singing more of the main vocal parts in "Evanesce." This is also the last group MVs where you will see Sungmin with Super Junior. "This is Love" and "Evanesce" were released in in October 2014. Sungmin got married in December 2014 and enlisted in the military in March 2015. As mentioned before, with all the controversy surrounding Sungmin's life when he was discharged, he decided to not participate in their "Black Suit" comeback in 2017, to prevent his issues from affecting SuJu's activities. So, he has not participated in any comebacks with SuJu since then. Now you need to see SuJu perform "This is Love" and "Evanesce" live in concert. Their live performances are the perfect examples of how even SuJu's rappers could be main vocalists. Their live harmonies will blow you away. ;D And in concert Heechul even filled in for Yesung's main vocal parts in some of their songs.
The light and color in the two MVs also help tell the story. In "This Is Love" the color red is striking and the light is permanent, while in "Evanesce" the light flickers and the red has almost lost its color as if there is still some hope or memories to hold on to, but the red fades and the light goes out completely after the dance part, which is when there really is nothing left.
You described it so perfectly. Both mvs are masterpieces. The details in the set, the editing, and how it reflects the message in the songs too its amazing
i like both songs and Eunhyuk and the female dancer dance I like it a lot, it's so cool 😍 Thank you for your reacting EliMarie 🥰 I always wait for your reaction for super junior 💙
Loved your reaction, and yes everything about these 2 MVs is perfect and amazing, they're also one of my favs from SUJU. Shindong is so freaking talented as a director as well!! 😍😍💙💙
For me who already said this in other reaction about parallel between This Is Love & Evanesce are... for me, the story were in This Is Love, they told us that they fall in love with a girl... happy. And with all struggles going on in a relationship... in Evanesce, they visited the building once again which was full of happy memories for them and the girl they dated.. but, it turns out to a heartbreak after they broke up and saw the familiar building to them were a mess; torn into pieces... like their hearts now.. thank you for the reaction Eli~
@@EliMarieReacts indeed. So, we always said that you should watch this two... side by side. And Shindong.. he's a genius. No doubt. He has Doctorate degree though.. we have Shindong, Eli 💙
"Oh! Dang it! He's crying. no!" My exact reaction when I first saw this. Donghae crying just kicks me in the gut. I don't care if it's just acting. I don't like seeing our precious bean sad.
Another wonderful reaction from you, thank you! I feel like they gave Shindong full creative license to make these videos and he took full advantage of that (on a budget!). It's easy to see he likes playing around with the camera tracking members and makes sets look bigger than they are (the one take thing he uses it again on Burn the Floor). Your next reaction should be Devil and Magic!! Oh, you'll be so happy with the suits ;) I do recommend to watch both the MV and the performance video for Devil. Most people like the performance video more :)
Otro lunes más presente y atenta a tu reacción. me encanta !!! Another Monday more present and pay attention to your reaction. I'm lovin 'it. Evanesce is my favorite song the truth .
I love Eunhyuk he is my ultimate bias. And to let you know Donghae is amazing at crying any given moment members of Super Junior even say when they get angry at him it is hard to stay angry at him because he starts crying. I love D&E as well my favorite sub units. Protect Super Junior.
I really enjoy your throwback series with suju 💙 thank you for reacting to these men 🥰 Btw if in case you haven't notice, the connection between two songs doesn't stop at the MV but also lyrics, meaning, and the song theme. This is Love is about falling in love and Evanence is about falling out of love. it's really poetic and the lyrics for both songs are just beautiful and i relate to it so much?? anyway, looking forward to your next suju reaction! 💙
Both of videos were so classic and beautiful. You are so right, all of them are so handsome looking 🥰🥰😋. You should out check a concert video on Evanescence, where Heechul miss a step . The guys are trying so hard not to laugh and trying to be professional😂😂. Heechul is very calmly singing.
Partner dance is rare for Korean boy groups, probably because dancing with women was still a bit scandalous in Korea for a long time. Only recently Leeteuk got called out for allegedly touching his dance partner inappropriately during a performance of "Lo Siento", but that was completely ridiculous, because it was in the choreography and it's not even very risque. Kyuhyun is surprisingly good at dancing with women, it helps that he's tall. I recommend that you check out "Club No 1" in SS5 and "She Wants It" in SS6.
Please react Eunhyuk solo dancer sorry-sorry answer Thank you This is the first time if I'm not mistaken Shindong has become a superjunior MV derection Thanks for watching them 💙🤗
The music video director of the song is ShinDong. And Eunhyuck made choreography.
What?! Thats amazing!
*sneak in quietly I'm sorry
*silently correct the typo Eun Hyuk.
*90° bow *I'm sorry...
This is beautiful 😍
Thank you really for all the reaction and for all the videos.... and not the end SJ💙👑

In live versions of "Evanesce" and also "Islands" Leeteuk often cries for real, it always breaks my heart. :(
