Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman host the grand final of Strictly Come Dancing. Back in October, 12 stars entered the ballroom, and now we are down to the final quartet. Tonight, those four and their partners dance three times in a bid to lift the famous Glitterball Trophy.

I find it hilarious how the producers gave oti bill probably thinking he'd be rubbish, and would be voted out. She won last year so they probably wanted to avoid a win twice in a row. But Oti whipped him into an amazing dancer, and told the producers that she isnt messing around. So happy for them both!
They won't have wanted everyone to think she only won because her sister is a judge, but bill proved them wrong!

Massive victory against ageism! For so long the over-55 Strictly contestant has simply been there for comedy value (Ann Widdecombe, John Sergeant, Nancy dell’Olio, Ed Balls etc.) but ironically it took a fantastic comedian to prove them that dance is an ageless endeavour!
Need to have the right mindset and teacher. Oti would never let her students be lazy, and Bill wanted tk do good and improve. He said so in an interview. Most seem to accept they're bad and just do it because Strictly is a nice experience. And then there's Katya who instead of trying to improve her bad partners, Ed and Mike, dresses it up in tricks.

Oti was not done avenging Danny's defeat with Kelvin, she has another mirror ball in her bag. It was obvious, Bill only needed good scores from the judges and he topped the leaderboard, he already had the audience support with him. Huge congratulations to the couple.

@@krobertson2 So if I were to ask my Dad who is in his late 40s to learn off a dance in a week that his ballroom training as a kid will come rushing back cause it won't. He has long forgotten that and I'm sure the same applies to Bill. If this training had such a big impact on him (despite it being 2 lessons nearly 40 years ago) then why was he not at the top of the leaderboard every single week? People say Bill has an advantage then fail to notice that HRVY and Maisie are partially trained as well and much more recently than Bill. People have bias against Bill and it shows
And he could have only done it with the help and guidance from Oti
Not even ashamed to say I cried when they called his name out... I was truly truly made up bill won..I have rooted and cheered him and oti on from the start.. For me he was my winner from day one.. Others may say he wasn't the best dancer but he had no experience unlike others, improved weekly, put his heart and soul into every performance and he was so humble and lovely.. i did the exact same! the second i saw him i knew he was gonna be a cutie and he gave me nothing less! he surprised me when he danced and i have stanned him from the very start! i screamed and cried when he won! i often find strictly a little unfair having singers in it who have major performance advantages and have had dance experience in the past, but strictly isn’t about the best dancer. it’s about who’s made the most of the experience and has improved the most!! and he went above and beyond to make this dream into a reality!!
I felt emotional too! I voted for him 5 times via the website tonight (once for HRVY) and when I saw Motsi start to cry I near lost it. I definitely had a tear in my eye. What an emotional moment, almost even more due to what we went though in 2020 and how much this series has helped us. Merry Christmas to you too Lucinda and to all of you who read this comment xx❤️🎉

Any one of the finalist could have won, so I think that in the end, the person who came across in the best way to the general public and who had come the furthest in the competition got the vote of the general public. What I really liked about Bill, apart from his amazing dancing, was that there no histrionics from him or jumping about whooping after every dance! Just solid, quiet and thoughtful comments and praise for his amazing teacher, the wonderful Oti. Worthy winners indeed, but well done to all of the finalists.

Wanted maisie to win myself, but she was contrived and her behaviour before strictly didn't do her any favours. However the abuse she got about her behaviour wasn't acceptable either, shes only 19 and still got a lot of growing up to do. Bill won on the basis that it was a rotten to the core year and people voted for someone who cheered people up really and gave that entertainment sector that people needed in their lives while the virus pandemic is still afoot. He's a nice guy so no hard feelings that maisie didn't clinch it. Think maisie also turned around public opinion just by getting into the finale alone, we also have to bear in mind she won CIN strictly of 2019 so about time another person had a treat instead if it makes sense.

It's nice because they're relationship is hardly ever acknowledged in the show. Apart from one little comment after Kelvin's Rumba, on the show she's just another judge. So having that moment of being a proud and happy sister is really nice.

It's crystal clear that the BBC wanted Maisie to win. And they paired Bill with Oti to prevent her winning two years in a row. HOWEVER .... They grossly underestimated both Oti and Bill. Bill is an extremely smart man who always gives 100% to everything he does and he just does not quit. And one of the things that makes him extremely likeable is that he is unassuming and does not possess an ego. Oti is a genius Dancer and Choreographer and always brings out the best in her dance partners. The RIGHT Couple won.

They paired Oti with an older person not wanting her to win again. She is the best dancer along with Jeanette. Oti rocks
But Bill has great personality and he is an amazing musician and comedian.
Any other older person, Oti would not have won.
Janette’s not even anywhere near the same league as Oti!
Janette is not a great dancer. She's good at some of the Latin dances, but her ballroom is far from the best. That's why she has never got to the final before - she hasn't been able to teach her celebs properly. Oti is far better, as is Katya.

I voted for Bill and Oti, because of his dancing, the perfect song choice ( 'The show must go on') the showdance was great and inventive, Bill's age, he's not a young performer with a dancing background, but bravely came to the show with no previous dancing skills , Oti's teaching skills are outstanding and creative, her routines & choreography are always amazing, but on the night after the terrible news to the nation that Christmas was cancelled Bill's words were spot on and very very moving Well done Bill and Oti ! xx

Well done, I’m so glad Bill and Oti won. To me he represented what Strictly is supposed to be all about, someone learning how to dance and seeing their progress along the way and also giving an insight into their personality, in Bill’s case a genuine, likable and sweet man. The fact he actually learned how to dance better by the end of the competition says it all. Hrvey winning would’ve been predictable, a young guy more easily able to master the steps due to his youth and experience unlike Bill.

A lot of people seemed to be shocked but personally I saw it coming. They've been so popular throughout the competition. Congrats to Bill for being the first winner over 50 and to Oti for winning twice in a row. They've both made history here tonight. Personally I will always be more keen on the best dancer winning and for me that was Maisie this series but congratulations to these two!!
Yes I’m not at surprised at all
Jamie and Maisie had both been in the bottom two more than once so I felt like neither of those would end up winning. On the other hand HRVY and Bill hadn’t at all, that’s a pretty decent gauge of popularity!
So it was between HRVY and Bill really. And I think HRVY was almost the obvious choice. He’s barely famous so he was clearly included in the show’s lineup because he had at least some dance talent (which I think showed when he came out week 1 and smashed his routine)..
It essentially came down to Bill the underdog vs HRVY the obvious choice, the destined winner from week 1. And that’s how Bill won, the underdog came out on top!
Personally I’ve been routing for Bill all series and wanted him to win, but I do think, in terms of dancing, Maisie was actually the strongest tonight! She just wasn’t that popular with viewers it seems!
Because this is a show that's not about straightforward skill. I honestly didn't watch the others. Only Bill and Oti's clips on RUclips, but I can see why people chose them. His skill improved in every episode, he is a wonderful performer even if he isn't the best dancer. She is an excellent dancer, obviously. They worked so well together. They deserve this. It's a feel-good story that we so desperately need right now.

My dad and I have seen Bill live in concert. So when I heard he was doing Strictly, I initially didn't know what to make of it. To me, he didn't seem like the kind of guy who'd have said yes when being asked to go on Strictly, but I'm so glad he did! Well done Bill and Oti!

This was the hardest final ever to call. HRVY’s chances were kind of ruined after he had to go first, they always seem to do that with the best dancers. Between Bill and Maisie I really couldn’t decide who’d win! It was great that the season could go ahead and I enjoyed every second of it!
How come it matters if you go first?

@@Me-bc9sn Well, there have been times where couples do a dance earlier in the show and it does great, but other couples do a great dance later on and get a great score but the earlier dance was as good as that one but didn't have a great score.

I think Maisie actually was the strongest dancer tonight. If it was entirely based on judging the dance skill, I think she’d have pipped it.
But in terms of popularity, I think the final was always a two horse race between Bill and HRVY. The other two had been in the bottom two too many times. Certainly Jaime and Karen had no chance. And the underdog managed to beat the clear favourite!
The Queen did the double, and the reaction was so heartwarming. I'm so pleased for both of them, they left it all on the dance floor tonight and came out on top!

It's nice because they're relationship is hardly ever acknowledged in the show. Apart from one little comment after Kelvin's Rumba, on the show she's just another judge. So having that moment of being a proud and happy sister is really nice.

So amazing I literally screamed. So thrilled for Bill and Oti both HRVY and Maisie were also spectacular but tonight the title went to the right couple. Say what you like but the improvement week on week Bill made was extraordinary and dare I say it I dont think he could have done it without Oti. Fantastic to see someone who had never danced truly blossom into a superstar. 2020 was different but I think this was the best final strictly ever had!
