A former employee of Sudhir Basnet once told me about him a decade ago. He called him one of Nepal's smartest person intelligent, highly dedicated and hard-working, humble, and a good business leader. It was only his fault that he trusted his finance team so much and some of them in his close circle were corrupted and ruinous to his business. In my opinion, he deserves a second chance to do the business in order to restore the funds to those who lost them.

This is the positive part and I think the Nepal Government should take some responsibility and further those involved in fraud case while validating the properties should be brought forward for justice. If he is actually a fraud than i believe he could flee to some other countries with the amount of resources he has which he didn't. Furthermore, he's trying to give back what he owes to people

-Main reason was 2008 financial crisis
-High risk - High reward does not always pays off.
-Valuation error on his asset made by bank side.(It seems bank sold those asset to their known ones in low price)
    Situation fucked him.

Man this is just tragic to hear... Basnet became a victim of circumstance but the real culprits seem to be the banks who took advantage of this opportunity to auction off the collaterals at a fraction of the price, no doubt to their own massive benefit. At least its good to hear that despite these setbacks Basnet is trying to do right by his creditors and pay back what is owed, which is more than what i can say for most people who would find them selves in a similar situation.

The problem is if you are elite businessman in Nepal, India, Bhutan, etc, you gotta lean towards politicians because these are the people who can seal your faith despite what's good in thier economy.
That's the reason why these countries will always remain poorer than other free economy countries.

In any crisis, fraud or crash Banks always seem to take advantage of the situation and often overlooked by the government. In this case and even in the Stock market crash of 2008, American banks who were one of the major culprits instead made tons of money off it while the citizens/customers & government money(i.e. taxpayers money) was in the loss big time.

He is not a fraud , we can say his bad luck from world recession and he himself is the victim of Nepalese government and banking system . Every businessman takes loan 💵 as well as there are thousands of shareholders . We should think those people who deposited money are like share holders . If the concern authority in the country fairly look after this case , I am definitely sure every people who deposited money in his business will get back their deposited money. This businessman needs help .He did not hide the truth about his business .

    Keep growing.
For the subject, i think he was a victim of global recession rather than a fraud but a project of this scale always needs a cautious and strict mechanism for cash in and outflow management.
Also, He took much leverage on banks loans which finally draged him to this situation.

It does not seem that he cheated people. He is a victim of 2008 real estate crisis. He could flee the country but he did not do that. Here, I see that Bank as well Government is also responsible for not giving him a chance.in this case, he should have filed a case of Bankruptcy and the job of the court or trustee has to collect the money and refund to the borrower that I don't hear in this case.I am really. sad for the borrower who did not get justice.

Something in me really thinks that he deserves a second chance.
He build so much and is very dedicating, laborious person but he lost trust. It's something that is very tough to gain again in this society, it's almost unreal to gain trust after such scandal. To be back on track, he needs alot of help.

I do love your narration and content . But i do think you lag to provide in depth analysis of the topic you are talking abt . It doesn't have to be half and hour long but more minutes with info packed screen time will surely be beautiful . I always find you rush things and give general info toany part of the topic you talk about .
For eg: in this one if you would have given us more info abt his journey to his peak then it would have been great before going through his crash landing 😄
