- Hi! I am Barbie!
I am from Michigan in The United States. I spent my final 4 years in the states living in Miami, Florida. This was my first exposure to living in what felt like another country with another culture because everyone there is hispanic. I fell in love with the latin culture and had my eyes open to the Beauty of other places besides America.
I never really felt like I fit in with anyone from my hometown, and always new I was different. I had a calling that I needed to leave home to find my purpose- to continue to grow and learn I didn’t know that I would end up in Miami… To later on end up in The Philippines. I didn’t choose top live in Siargao Island… it definitely chose me.
Upon finding Siargao in a Facebook post while scrolling at my office job in the states, (the post was looking for coaches at a gym here) I quit my job and left my whole life behind in America to move to the island- Which I never even heard of before. I moved to the Philippines from America when I was 22 years old. I like to believe that I was Filipina in my past life because I truly feel at home when I am surrounded by the locals here and Filipino’s in general.

Please be careful, don't trust too much. You still need to set bounderies to everyone specially with boys. Also for security, since you're alone, always locked your door, be mindful and vigilant.
