@@straightfrommissouri I felt the same but when you realize Captain America stands for the American IDEALS, Not America the country, or America the political machine he starts to make a lot more sense, and it's why Rogers frequently found himself at odds with his own country, when They, not he, lost tough with those core values. In a way Mackie was right, but he was expressing himself VERY badly, and in a way pretty much guaranteed to get him in trouble.

Watching that put a big smile on my face, "Fuck yeah Captain!" I also found him relatable. I too was rejected from the army many times before ink met paper. Like him for something I have no control over. His let down, feeling of not being able to do anything resonated. Where was my German Scientist with hero serum?

People are already feeling like DisneyMarvel is forcing this character on the audience. When they start pandering to the rest of the world without considering the opinion of that audience, there will be more resistance to having the character forced on them. Mackie was told to play down the American angle, which was never going to go well. DisneyMarvel chose their priorities, poorly.

The original Captain America at the end of endgame had the opportunity to get some of that super soldier serum and give it to him, but he didn't.

These people are creatively and morally bankrupt, they simply exploit that which they themselves cannot comprehend nor continue to profit off, their agenda, politics, opinion and ideals are all getting in the way of the very soul of the character they are meddling with, period.
It's sad because I love going to the theater but there are very few films that interest me.

Simple. He is Hydra Captain America from an alternative universe. Mystery solved. Heh.
Captain America got the title, lore-wise to the MCU, to basically act as a USO. It was specially designed to help Americans. Sure, he helped otherwise, because that is the type of person he was, but CA was to boost moral/vanity project. So of course MCU CA was meant to be "America" (Eagle sounds, which was really a red-tailed hawk).

People are already feeling like DisneyMarvel is forcing this character on the audience. When they start pandering to the rest of the world without considering the opinion of that audience, there will be more resistance to having the character forced on them. Mackie was told to play down the American angle, which was never going to go well. DisneyMarvel chose their priorities, poorly.
