    Don't yank on your wiring like that when you unplug an electrical connector.

      That's the same thing I was thinking. Like holy crap waiting for the "and after you yank the wires, be sure to check out the new harness install video"

    I need some help on understanding the difference between TFI and EFI.
    I have a 1994 F150 5.0L EFI and I've been looking to upgrade my ignition system.
    Will this kit here work? And if not, can someone point me in the right direction for what I need?
    I would appreciate this so much.

    What if my fox body just don’t start cranks but no spark I change then coil worked one day then did the same thing won’t start can it be the distributor that is not working or tfi module

  • @elliottbutts153
    @elliottbutts153 4 года назад +2

    Got this set up from LMR and I really like it. Only disappointing part was the TFI module only last about a year, around 5,000 miles. Had to replace it. Now I might try the Automatic TFI that came with it. Came with 2 TFI modules. All of the TFI modules out there are junk. Even the Ford modules. Tried the MSD module also but it sucked. The car had no power and would not rev with the MSD TFI. I wish someone would make a good TFI so I didn’t have to drive around with 3 extras in the car just in case.

    when removing your distributor will the oil pump shaft fall out into the motor... i hear alot of people have this problem and im wondering why LMR didnt mention it in this video.... so my question is,,,, when i remove my distributer do i have to worry about that shaft falling into the motor>????

    • @hotrodray6802
      @hotrodray6802 2 года назад

      Oil pump shaft has a retainer ring on it to prevent it from coming up out of the oil pump...
      unless some axewipe left it out.

    Need some help. My brother in law welded the rear quarter panel on without disconnecting the grounds on my 91 5.0 fox body while I want there to do it myself, so now I have no fuel pump and no spark. I've replaced the TFI Module, coil, fuel pump relay and the solenoid. I'm getting ready to change out the PIP but I'm afraid that isn't the issue for the spark. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      I know this was awhile ago already, but in that rear quarter panel is an inertia switch for your fuel pump. Maybe try that? Hope it helps.

    Is this the ignition kit I should buy for my 1985 Mustang CFI engine?

    • @latemodelrestoration
      @latemodelrestoration  5 лет назад

      The CFI application will use a traditional vacuum style advance distributor. Here is a link to this distributor you would need.

      I'm a big fan of the PDI distributor used in this video. You can see it in the link below. It has great performance at a great price - Jeff J

      Late Model Restoration SO, you use YOUR distributor, YOUR coil, YOUR wires, but no BOX? NO Performance plugs (E3 Diamond FIRE, Bosch platinum +2 or +4, Etc...)? which cd or digital box do you recommend? Msd, Mallory, Fast, Pertronix? I'm a bit sour on the My Spark Died line since their 6a box left me stranded, but they seem to be the ONLY option....

      ko5cobraa i would check the timing with a timing light just to be safe

      I did the same thing he does in the video once. Huge mistake. Took me a month to realize the issue was the timing. Save yourself the headache and always check the timing.

    why didnt you relocate the ignition control module off the distributor away from heat which causes failure of the TFI?

    • @hotrodray6802
      @hotrodray6802 2 года назад

      THAT is major work for zero benefit.
      Just buy a better module.
      The $15 china ones suck.
      Parts stores sell them for $60 in their own label boxes.
      Best to find a real Mororcraft in the junkyard for $5.
