Most companies require you to pay a deposit, so I'm pretty sure they paid for part of their bill up-front, then after the wedding, and everyone got sick, the catering company wanted their money as well.
This happened to my friend when she ate mac n cheese her stomach started hurting a lot and then she went to the bathroom and took a long time when I went over to her house and before that happened she ate the mac n cheese but her mom had made it and they seem to have a very good relationship so the mom would never do that to my own daughter.... DUN DUN DUN!!!
I'm glad they reach it. But how many people actually follow through. Ppl get relaxed after working a long time without incident. And then boom! Not just for food service either, happens in many professions. Hoping they do regular trainings as a reminder how quickly things can go wrong.
I feel so sorry for the couple and all the guests. The sickness will go away but the memories will stick with them forever. I glad everyone is happy and healthy now
Wow the bbq place denied they did anything then said it could have been the couples fault. Maybe they should have kept that part to themselves cuz the couple had already been through enough and they clearly already feel guilty enough without people accusing them of things they probably didn’t do!
Lindsay K because the couple brought a cheese 🧀 tray to the reception and we know cheese is to be kept cool. People were getting sick 3 hours afterwards. Yes, it's either the cheese tray or the caterer food. 50/50
Tamara Weber yeah Ik! But they probably shouldn’t have mentioned it was the couples fault in the report since the couple was already going through a lot!
well if the health department didn't find anything wrong with the mac and cheese provided by smokey's BBQ, then the couples odds of winning that lawsuit went down the drain.
They were probably informed of the inspection in advance. So, they may have taken extra sanitation measures just for that one day. That way, they could still get away with being careless without raising any red flags.
@@Mandrake591 I like to shake hands with people. You can tell a lot about a person by how they shake your hand. However, at this time it is better not to. Especially if they haven’t washed their hands after using the toilet!
"People in nice clothes, just losing bodily functions" I feel so sorry for everyone involved, however- whoever edited this had an amazing sense of humour. Making that sentence the first thing you hear from the groom is hilarious! 🤣
There is no proof that it wasn't the food brought by the couple to the reception. Food poisoning can take effect in as little as 30 mins after eating the tainted food. The culprit could have just as easily have been the cheese platter.
If only a couple people got sick, then oh well. But that was outrageous. I agree with the bride and groom I would not pay the catering company either. That was definitely their fault. A cheese plate would not make people that sick!
I feel so bad for all the guest who were sick. Considering that throwing up feels awful. Bless all the guest. I hope they never have to go through that again.
The catering company has some nerve counter-suing considering how many people got sick at this couple’s Wedding Reception! Hope when they take it to court the judge makes the catering company cover all medical expenses as well as the cost of the reception since they were responsible for ruining it.smh
Same thing happened at a wedding I attended. We catered BBQ just like these people. Little did we know that the brisket would be undercooked. We all were fine until we went home. At 1 in the morning at home almost all the guests starting throwing up. It was awful. Worst night ever. 5 people in my house got it. We were thinking of suing the company because of how many were affected.
The company is counter suing? Wow they should be ashamed of themselves. I hope the couple wins the lawsuit and puts them out of business. They ruined one of the most important days of their life’s.
My parents forgot their marriage papers or something of the sort, on the day of their wedding, and had to go back for them. There's a wedding photo of my parents standing at the alter laughing at their mistake. Then my dad got a really bad migraine after the ceremony, and had to miss his own wedding reception.
I would say that the one lady who mentioned both her kids got sick but didnt mention getting sick herself points to the mac and cheese being the likely culprit. Kids love mac and cheese. Kids arent big into cheese plates.
If you've ever had a bout of food poisoning you know how much suffering these people went thru, it's very dangerous too, some people die from it. I ate food from a chain food restaurant about four years ago and I felt like I was dying. I called my sister and we prayed together and God got me thru it. I used to work with a young lady whose mother died from food poisoning from a family gathering. You never really know where you might get it. I think there's a web site that anyone can post to to record where they ate and got sick.
not the catering company saying it could have been a cheese plate that the couple brought- there’s no cheese plate in the world that would be big enough to feed 100+ people 😂
strawberry redz I worked for a catering company. That cheese plate probably feed 50 max. Plus most people ate probably 2-4 pieces....nothing that would make you overly sick. Doesn’t explain have 100 got sick.
Wow.... this is tragic on many levels! A couples wedding reception was ruined. Dozens and dozens of people got sick. A company could easily be put out of business. In that situation I would say that figuring out what caused the illness would be paramount. I’d hate to hear a company bankrupted if it wasn’t their fault. But I’d also hate for all these people to get slammed with obnoxious medical bills if the caterer dropped the ball!
Sounds like what happened to my school. The whole 5th grade just got sick! Litterally TWO kids were still attending school in one class. In my class there was only 8 kids (including me) and in the last class there was 6 kids. One person fainted and like 3-5 kids went home sick everyday. We had to get our desks bleached and sanitize every hour. When we sat down at lunchwe left like 9 tables empty. Eventually kids began coming back to school but it was HORRIBLE!

The couple brought a cheese plate to the reception, well it could have been that because 🧀 is suppose to be kept cool. Always expect the unexpected. I'm just saying.
The its interesting, the bride and groom not getting sick is likely bc at a wedding the couple barely has time to eat with all of the festivities and half of guests means they probably have an account of what the guests did and didnt eat
Good thing I always wash my hands before any meal(even then this is why I simply REFUSE to eat mac and cheese if it's not Kraft). And thank God the guests all recovered!
This is really surprising to me because a couple days ago i was at a wedding too and once i got home after the wedding, me and my mom and sister became so ill. Even my sisters friends got sick!!!
Something like this happened before, the couples flower girl who was 4 has a bad stomach virus that she was originally cleared for by a doctor, however she was actually still sick and had quickly spread it to all the guests, no one died but it was definitely a brown weeding
Health Dept can mandate that everyone who handled food that day submit stool samples. I'd like to see the doh reports. Staph a. is spread via bare hand contact, and the Mac and cheese is a cooked dish, so unless someone mixed it with their bare hands or someone dipped their fingers in there at the reception, it may have not been that. Epidemiology just shows stats and probability. Food safety is a lot more serious than ppl think. These restaurants and some of the guests give health inspectors such a hard time, I know bc I worked as a health inspector, then something like this happens and everyone is so outraged. So many handlers deny that they're sick until their stool sample results come back positive. Wear gloves and wash your hands, gross people.
I would sue too. Totally unacceptable
Jax and they said they weren’t guilty of any wrongdoings. Ever heard of sanitation requirements?
Mal Mort no the lawyer for the catering company said guilty
Mal Mort no it's because the grading system is weird. You could have a rat infestation and still get an A

Mal Mort i get you but what im saying is that they specifically used the word guilty
Why the hell should they still pay the caterer?? They poisoned their guests?
