- A New York couple whose storybook wedding descended into madness as guests became violently ill have described a scene resembling "the apocalypse" and "a horror movie." Jesse Abbott and his bride, Melissa Conarton, wanted a delicious but laid-back menu at their reception, including pulled pork, chicken, baked beans, salads, rice, and mac and cheese. Why the hell should they still pay the caterer?? They poisoned their guests?
Most companies require you to pay a deposit, so I'm pretty sure they paid for part of their bill up-front, then after the wedding, and everyone got sick, the catering company wanted their money as well.

This happened to my friend when she ate mac n cheese her stomach started hurting a lot and then she went to the bathroom and took a long time when I went over to her house and before that happened she ate the mac n cheese but her mom had made it and they seem to have a very good relationship so the mom would never do that to my own daughter....

I'm glad they reach it. But how many people actually follow through. Ppl get relaxed after working a long time without incident. And then boom! Not just for food service either, happens in many professions. Hoping they do regular trainings as a reminder how quickly things can go wrong.

Not only a sample. After a food poisoning outbreak has occurred, they're supposed to not throw anything out. I learned this in my class.

I feel so sorry for the couple and all the guests. The sickness will go away but the memories will stick with them forever. I glad everyone is happy and healthy now

They were probably informed of the inspection in advance. So, they may have taken extra sanitation measures just for that one day. That way, they could still get away with being careless without raising any red flags.

There is no proof that it wasn't the food brought by the couple to the reception. Food poisoning can take effect in as little as 30 mins after eating the tainted food. The culprit could have just as easily have been the cheese platter.
If only a couple people got sick, then oh well. But that was outrageous. I agree with the bride and groom

The catering company has some nerve counter-suing considering how many people got sick at this couple’s Wedding Reception! Hope when they take it to court the judge makes the catering company cover all medical expenses as well as the cost of the reception since they were responsible for ruining it.smh

Same thing happened at a wedding I attended. We catered BBQ just like these people. Little did we know that the brisket would be undercooked. We all were fine until we went home. At 1 in the morning at home almost all the guests starting throwing up. It was awful. Worst night ever. 5 people in my house got it. We were thinking of suing the company because of how many were affected.
You really should sue them.

My parents forgot their marriage papers or something of the sort, on the day of their wedding, and had to go back for them. There's a wedding photo of my parents standing at the alter laughing at their mistake. Then my dad got a really bad migraine after the ceremony, and had to miss his own wedding reception.

strawberry redz I worked for a catering company. That cheese plate probably feed 50 max. Plus most people ate probably 2-4 pieces....nothing that would make you overly sick. Doesn’t explain have 100 got sick.

Dozens and dozens of people got sick.
A company could easily be put out of business.
In that situation I would say that figuring out what caused the illness would be paramount. I’d hate to hear a company bankrupted if it wasn’t their fault. But I’d also hate for all these people to get slammed with obnoxious medical bills if the caterer dropped the ball!
If you've ever had a bout of food poisoning you know how much suffering these people went thru, it's very dangerous too, some people die from it. I ate food from a chain food restaurant about four years ago and I felt like I was dying. I called my sister and we prayed together and God got me thru it. I used to work with a young lady whose mother died from food poisoning from a family gathering. You never really know where you might get it. I think there's a web site that anyone can post to to record where they ate and got sick.
That one person who is lactose intolerant be all like wow, I have never been so happy not to be able to eat Mac and cheese

I would say that the one lady who mentioned both her kids got sick but didnt mention getting sick herself points to the mac and cheese being the likely culprit. Kids love mac and cheese. Kids arent big into cheese plates.

Sounds like what happened to my school. The whole 5th grade just got sick! Litterally TWO kids were still attending school in one class. In my class there was only 8 kids (including me) and in the last class there was 6 kids. One person fainted and like 3-5 kids went home sick everyday. We had to get our desks bleached and sanitize every hour. When we sat down at lunchwe left like 9 tables empty. Eventually kids began coming back to school but it was HORRIBLE!

Something like this happened before, the couples flower girl who was 4 has a bad stomach virus that she was originally cleared for by a doctor, however she was actually still sick and had quickly spread it to all the guests, no one died but it was definitely a brown weeding
