- Hi sweet SI family, I hope you’re doing well and staying safe. Today is a step by step on How To Stencil On Furniture. When I first started painting furniture, it took me a few years to work up the courage to use stencils because I was afraid I was going to ruin my freshly painted pieces. But I’m SO glad I started using them in my makeovers. Stenciling is super easy and creates SUCH GORGEOUS designs!
Although it took me a few years to get ‘into’ stenciling, I’ve done my fair share since then. So if you’re brand new to stenciling or even an old pro, I hope this gives you a few tips and ideas to help you out. 🙂

Just getting into this.......thanks for the tips....
Beautiful and very helpful.I painted two tables ❤
¥ay! I hope you had fun and they turned out beautifully! Thanks for sharing! :)
This piece turned out great, love the colours; but when stenciling and there are areas that you don't want to get paint on. cover those areas up with painter's tape and then you won't get paint where you don't want it and you won't need to paint over the unwanted paint.
Thanks for your guidance!!!💯
Debating on using a stencil when I buy some furniture for a room being made over for dining room. Thanks for the tips. I wonder if when getting in the edges and corners with pouncing where a small bit of paint got onto the unwanted area, if possibly putting some painter's tape on that section although you may want to wait for the full curing time to make sure when lifting the tape off it doesn't pull off some of the paint. Still great job!
Thank you - I needed a beginners guide.
Thank you! I'm not afraid to try now.
Oh I’m so glad! Have fun!! 🤗
I'm waiting for my same stencil I ordered. I'm excited to use it 😊. I think I may use it on the top

This is beautiful. Can I ask what colour the cabinet is? It is just the colour I am looking for
It's a custom color I mixed up - super easy using Dixie Belle's the Gulf 80% & Peacock 20% salvagedinspirations.com/how-to-stencil-on-furniture/

Hello, what is the alternative I can use instead of the adhesive "Elmers Bond" . I don't get it here and was looking at some other options and I dont want to try something and leave smudge or bond the vinyl stencil to the wall/furniture and damage it !!!
Nice video.
❤ the
❤
Could you please suggest what kind of paint should I use??
Muito lindo ❤
obrigado Sandra! :)
can you dry quicker with a blower dryer on the cool setting? is that possible or harmful?
I've never tried but I'm guessing it would work.
Wouldn’t it be easier to tape the edge of overlap so you don’t need to repaint.?
I did it on a top and wondered if I need to do anything to it other than a sealer for that area? Some areas I can feel are higher than others
I like to sand mine down so it feels embossed yet smooth and a topcoat to seal should be perfect.
Can you link the brushes you use ?
@@aliciamartin8898 for sure, if you click the link in the description box it will bring you to the blog post which has ALL the supplies used including the brush. Hope this helps. 😊
What paint is good for furniture I used some I got from Walmart and it was running and just bad 🤦🏽♀️
There are SO many great brands. Fusion, Annie Sloan, and Dixie Belle are all amazing. Walmart has Waverly. I've never tried but have heard good things. Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams have great enamel paints that work super well on furniture too. Hope this helps
@@SalvagedInspirations what about chalk paints?
@@ramshaakbar4433 Chalk Paints are amazing! :)
I’m reading that certain types of paints are better for a stencil. Which type of paints are best ? Demi- gloss … flat paint .
