I was never much a fan but I met Dominick at Bellator (Chael vs Tito) which was shortly after his loss to Cody. We spoke for a couple minutes and concluded with me telling him how much I respected his talk at the post-fight press conference. He said, very sincerely; "Thank you, man. I appreciate that." We took a picture, shook hands and went back to our seats. Really glad to have met him. Respect.
That has to be the best post-fight speech I have ever heard come from a fighter that lost. If anyone ever feels the need to listen to an uplifting speech, that speech is it. And the last thing he said after he was asked why he wasn't sitting down was perfection.

i have always looked to dom for advise. 2 years ago i was strugglin w my social life and getting bad grades in uni but i managed to turn things around in my final year after watching a tribute videos made to him about his comeback vs tj in addition to listening to his jre podcast.

Dom's career has been plagued by injuries. I still consider him as one of MMA's top P4P Bantamweights of all time.

Damn, I didn’t know you can tear your shoulder 75% off the bone from throwing a punch. But Dom was such an inspiration on this interview. I’m so glad this show offers MMA fighters a platform to actually wax philosophically without constant interruptions and commercial breaks like all the other ESPN shows. Kudos to Ariel and ESPN.
His body is falling apart. Both knees, both feet, and now shoulder. It's time to retire.

Damn i have 2 say this is feel bad for you cruz n hope u recover quickly ive never been a fight fan of you and i grew up watching you in the wec days b4 you became a champ not really ever liked your fight style all that much but hey you won many many times and i respect the hell out of you. But even tho im not a fight fan of yours I do love you as a person your smart ass fuck and are really good at speaking and analysis and commentating you are very articulate and every ufc event i always hope that you are part of the play by play cageside commentating i could listen to you all day long. Get well soon buddy you are 1 of the best to have ever stepped in that cage and i can say that without being a fan of yours as a fighter and give you the respect you rightfully deserve.
His style and movements, throwing while moving, constant pivots, grapple and strikes on the go has lead to his many injuries through the yrs.

As a Canadian who has watched MMA for the past 5 years and followed Ariel Helwani as the best journalist in the sport, this is disgusting. Dominic Cruz is the third worst commentator in the ufc behind Florian and Thomas and he is so scared of uncle sam that hell say anything to get a lick at those balls.
I didnt realize washingtons teeth had such a hard on for maple. Im with you Ariel stay strong.
