My friend said to me " I don't know what's wrong with me, I think I'm a teepee, I think I'm a wigwam." I told him, relax, your 2 tents. Please use this as another dad joke lol
@@ronwhite6719 lol
moves pretty good for an elderly man. Carry on frank show this younger generations what hard work can and will doo for you. Blesed Be
I tell my 11 yr old your jokes and he just rolls his eyes and tells his friends “ my dad thinks he’s funny “
lol
I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my grandfather, not screaming and yelling like the passengers in his car.
lol
It's looking good when it's done it's going to really look good and then you'll have a garage especially when it's when it snows so stay safe be careful up there and God bless and I'm glad you guys are okay 😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇
From one Frank to another, Great job working with the kids.
The trusses came out great, you work very well together.
It won't be long and the garage will be finished hopefully before the snow.
God Bless
Why no Hurricane straps (join trusses to walls) Are they not code in your area?
Will throw them on later.
Great teamwork guys! Liking Frank, he seems quite a character who'd be fun to have around! Soon be dried in!
HELLO DADDY FRANK AWE-INSPIRING
We call it crown land here in Australia too. Shed is coming along really sweet. Isn't it good to feel that you've done a good days work out when your tired, sleep comes very quickly after food. Stay safe.
God Bless your all's heart's , that was some hard work right there, you guy's can do anything together :) GREAT JOB !!
Your dad Frank is awesome that must be great to be able to work with them and build a garage something you guys can look forward to in the future that's so cool
Lookin good, thought Jeremy was going to hit himself in the grill with that hammer.
Excellent job setting the rest of the garage trusses, so you can start getting the roof on to be able to seal it up for winter. Love you guy’s channel, be safe, stay healthy, God Bless everyone.
Thanks Rob!
Great job and quite an accomplishment,Jeremy ,Frank and Ashley! Be very proud of the things you have done, you do it right and not something many could accomplish!Take care and stay safe!
You are blessed with a Dad that is willing and able to help. To me the good natured banter shows friendship not lack of respect. I worked with my Dad most every day and we had that same dialogue. I loved and respected him as much as any son could. It was just our way of making the day go faster.
Great job guys
Thanks :)
what do u call a cow with no legs? ground beef
Good one!
lol
Jeremy & Ashley It's good to see that your coming along with the garage build. Soon you'll be parking your vehicles in there before ya know it!
Love seeing those trusses going up. And you made it look so easy! But I know it was a lot of work and I’m sure your bodies will feel it later. Looking forward to seeing the roof going on.
It's starting to look like a garage, won't be long and you will have the steel on the roof. ;-)

Used to love roofing I’ve been a carpenter for 50 years but I am retired now can’t clamber about like he used to are you going to use 4+1 Runners
I think I would have invested in a nail gun. :-)
We have one :)
Congratulations! That's a lot of hard work, but it beats paying somebody to do it for you! 😎
Great video! i would just prepare for Osha another great tip would be Safety first, PPE and using the proper fall prevention. Have a great day!
All the best :)
Frank is famous by now... it’s great to have for Sam in future to be able to watch these back.
Hard workers and the prettiest gofer I've ever seen.
I love you alls constant humor while you work together. Your personalities are perfect match mixed with fun sarcasm. Keep up the hard work.
Great job gang. Those trees are beautiful! Plz keep pushing...
that looks amazing..your dad is a true treasure..so special to watch the way the 3 of you get along and work so well together..God bless you all and stay safe.
Lol I can see the pigs playing in the background. Playful little things
You guys make a fine construction crew and the garage is coming along nicely, hope you get it done before the snow flys. Take care.
dont forget 45 degree brace inside each gable end , wind sheer protection required most areas
You can see us put one on in this video.
If you would of put all the trusses up at one time, all you would have to do is slide them into place as you need them
That is what we did on the extension of the home when we did them. Doesn't make any difference as you still gotta go up and down the ladder to slide them out of the way.
@@MBFModernHomesteading I’m a lazy person,so my ideas ,come from not wanting to do double the work,i see you guys working so hard ,and you don’t have to,drag a pallet behind your side by side and level the ground out,cut the lower limbs off the trees you are going to clear anyway, and it stop predators from hiding and might just save your chickens
@@johnthomson9558 It is the same amount of work either way. We have done it both ways and makes 0 difference.
@@johnthomson9558 And the chickens are safe. All is well bro ;)
@@MBFModernHomesteading I was a custom home builder for 30 years and your right, it makes absolutely no difference, it’s the exact same amount of work either way. The only time it is really worth doing is when you’ve got the crane sitting there at $500 per hour on a crazy build where you can’t get them up by hand so you want that crane operator flying them up and stacking them and get him out of there in one hour or less then you can swing them up and nail them down after the crane is gone but for a simple build like the garage then it doesn’t matter either way !!
I’m surprised tho Jeremy that one of the companies hasn’t sent you a framing nail gun yet or do you prefer to just hand drive your framing nails? It would have sped the process up a bit for ya. I know you’ve got trim guns but don’t know if I’ve ever seen you with a framer.
Anyhows, great job to the three of ya!!! I’m proud of all of ya!!! It’s getting there!!
Great, enjoyed watching
Awesome work done and stay safe, God bless
Congratulations guys on getting the gablesin place and absolutely brilliant videography from Ashley.
Frank is a trooper!! Good job guys (and gal)!!
Great leap forward on garage - all looks perfect - hard work but you did it - thanks guys
That's a sweet shop guys. We are hoping to start on ours soon too. Learning lots!!
Wow when you set out to do something you keep going till it is done.
Your dad is a life saver congratulations on the trusses and now the sheathing
We need a hoody that says WWFD? (What would Frank do?) Awesome to see how fast the trusses went up!
Are you wearing the Rode Wireless Go mic? I've got the same one I use in my home studio. I'm a professor and have had to do more recordings this year than normal (wonder why?). Something I do periodically is toward the beginning of a scene... I'll clap so when I'm doing editing I'll see the spike from all Audio Sources and can more easily sync the audio to the video. Have been binge watching your channel the past few weeks. Enjoying your journey, thank you for taking the time to bring us along.
No, we are using wireless Comica mics. And thanks for stopping by, happy to have you here :)
HELLO DADDY FRANK AWE-INSPIRING
Nice job. I know you appreciated your Dad coming to help again.
your lady 1 off a million
so hard worker for woman
Again a great job, I was worrying about gey=tting the last trusses up but you me how good you are. Makes me jealous as I had a father that wouldn't let "women" do that kind of work.
Thanks , and this woman could out work most men ;)
Hi are you guys still on your original 70 acre homestead? Watched a video where you said you were selling to be closer to family doctors. Just started watching you guys . thanks have a Great day
Thanks and we decided not to sell. And happy to have you here.
Awesome video. really liked the music, Family is the only way to build
U know y fish are so smart? They swim in schools u are welcome here is u another . Do u know y beer 🍻 is so good for u ?? It made Budweiser lol I hope u like it welcome . Have a great day can hardly Waite til u get your shop dried n . Then u will have time to get u some deer meat yum yum .
Haha, thanks :)
What will your roof pitch be. Like Michigan where I grew up, you probably have to consider the snow load.
5/12, same as the home.
Good job guys .🥰👍watching your pigs acting the goat in the back ground ,pigs r fun 2 watch..thanks for sharing
I like the chicken coop is protected with net or something from attack by air ? had i had that my duck farming would still be happening. The hawk came in and killed my ducks.
Yes, we had chicken wire along the top of it to prevent that. Sorry to hear about your ducks :(
Lovely 🌹
It’s called a nailgun not a hammer
Great 😊 job.....do yourself )) save the money I did mine just like that . time for a cookout and cold beer.. great vidio 💯%. Thanks for sharing..
Do You save any money using Trusses?....traditional framing gives you storage space in the attic area.
Not sure, we didn't price the wood building our own. But wood is crazy expensive right now.
Front and back truss has to have vertical support or all of trusses can be of same shape ? (my garage package supplier gave me all with same shape on trusses ) , please update me on it ,thanks
All of the trusses have to have the same pitch, the only difference is the gable end trusses are built different to allow you to sheet in the ends.
No the ski is more beautiful today because your standing there in my view of site, kool vary beautiful 👩 nice thanks BigAl California.
Awesome Sauce 👍💥🎉👏
You do Nice Work 🙌
JO JO IN VT 💕😄🇺🇸
You guys make it look easy. Cant wait to see it done. The farm is really coming together. Are you guys using different mics? If so what are you using?
Yes, we are using comica wireless mic’s.
@@MBFModernHomesteading they sound great. Thanks for answering I'm going to look them up
OMG those childish immature joke don't work
lol, chill out bro.
Bob Curry (County Durham, UK) you are certainly doing a good job really enjoy watching your videos
oh, you're canadians, that's why you do it this way, instead of the american way with rafters, i guess you get a lot of snow since you put them with that short distance between them. in the snow zone that i live in in sweden, it's 1.2 meters max between the trusses, but we can get up to 1-1.5 meters of snow here.
Thanks for a great video! Excellent work. Beautiful building! Hooray for dad!

Just a little fyi:go get you a bag of sea salt or pool salt the finer the better take 2 or 3 cup and mix it with a hot bath it will help take out the sore muscles i do it every day iv been able to got from 100 pain pills a week to 2 every few months.it works great i take a milk bath a couple times a week so my skin don't dry out i use the powder milk hope this helps y'all feel better
I’m a joister and we actually walk in the 2x6 or 2x4 wall depending on the wood
Great job you guys !! A big hello and thumbs up from South Florida USA
Thumbs up on the joke! 😀
It would have been a lot easier for Frank to lift his end if the other end was lowered a bit by Jeremy.
Kind of a spider web in there, we gotter done :)
After the garage is finished. You should build Sam a playhouse. I'd let her pick out the design and the interior decorations.
It's called crown land here in Oz too. My kids had so much bush to play in too. They built forts and tree houses and had to watch out for snakes and wild pigs - a good life.
You said the magic word “pie”. You all make it look easy, I know it is NOT. Wonderful work and great video making. Please keep at it.P Gilhooly Corpus Christi, Tex.
Great video guys. It's looking great. Before you know it it will be finished.
I remember exploring as akid..didnt live far from an old junk yard...it was great
I'm surprised that U don't take the braces off in front of the door way. You'd have more room getting in the garage with the last rafters
I just couldn’t imagine framing with out a nail gun, great work gentleman and ladies
Next episode, Frank throws plywood
Lol
Lot of satisfaction in getting a job done. I realize you aren't through by any means but as someone once said " you have to eat an elephant one bite at a time" manual work is good for the soul. Good job folks!
Wow i was wondering how yall was going to put them trusses up? What a treat idea! Great job yall!!!!
Once it is dried it, you will feel so much better I am sure. Then the real fun can begin.
A very nice Video, best regards from Ernst From Germany
Wow looks great guys thank God for your dad coming to help you guys out have a great weekend.
Pneumatic nail guns are a thing in modern construction…
We use them sometimes but no need fiddling around with one for just a couple of nails on the trusses. A hammer works just fine. Hammers are still a thing in modern construction, don't throw out a classic ;)
the editor of the video has no understanding of whats going on
lol
👍👌🇨🇦❤, love having Frank back
Great progress...had to look up the “topping off” of a building tradition...something about appeasing the tree gods?? Have you seen that being done? Also I think there is some beer drinking involved with it...,anyways, looking outstanding!!!
Never heard of it but the beer part gotta be right haha
@@MBFModernHomesteading Ha, there should be like a walk through inspection, after putting up the trusses, with a beer in hand.
I’ve seen the topping off of a building where they nail a tree branch at the most top part of the building.
Good episode...btw, I bought the wrong hammer weight,...a 16 oz instead of a 20oz. What size hammer do you have? Looks pretty stout.
@@joedude1357 Thanks, this one might be an old 22 oz with a wooden handle. It is 20 oz for sure, can't remember.
Such good memories of your dad helping you put up the trusses. You may appreciate it now but you will appreciate it more in the future❤️
Great job guys
You guys are awesome
I thought you had a nail gun? Its easier with the gun then a hammer!
We do but with this type of work we would just be passing the gun back and forth all day. We will get it back out for the strapping.
That’s a good team work working with your son and father!!
Video was great hope your weekend be successful God Bless
Should have put them all up at once and than place them... 😎
No thanks ;)
Looks great you guys. Life is for building homes and family and sports that you like and learning spiritual truth both basic and then more. I am Ronald Clark on Facebook. You are most welcome there. No fees or donations thank you! Hi to Sam also. She must be on a great adventure somewhere. Just a friend Ron
Getting it done, in the cool weather. It's Apple Cider time. Find out where the Food stores dump their old produce, like day-old bread, vegtable's good to feed the pig's and chick'ens. Mite treat'm too a warm mash every once an awhile. A harty breakfast is a must in cool temps. Load the back of the pickup with the old food stuff,....Dumpster Diveing is Fun Sport, when you got Animals too feed.
We pick up items from the grocery store all the time, they set it aside for us :)
