Other news, I will be doing another video talking about what's going to happen on this channel. I'll be leaving for two years, but this channel will still be on with new content

DESCRIPTION:
The Phantom Troupe or Gen'ei Ryodan, is a world-renowned gang of thieves with Class-A Bounties. The group is also known as "Spider" and its members go by the name of "Spiders". Most of them hail from Meteor City.
The group consists of thirteen members, all of whom are highly skilled Nen users. Each member has a numbered tattoo of a twelve-legged spider on their body.
Some of you will say, what about Omokage? He appears in the movie Hunter x Hunter: The Phantom Rouge, as the defected member 4 of the Phantom Troupe, I didn't put him because he is non-canon member. The movie is not from the same timeline or universe or whatever of the anime.

He seems like the mediator of the troupe keeping everyone in check and making sure everyone is on the same page like when they were about to fight each other over chasing kurapika and he calmed everyone down and gave them a better plan .

Shalnark is a huge loss for the Troupe. They really killed those who are skilled in intelligence gathering, Pakunoda and Shalnark. For thieves, the power of Kortopi is indespensable as well.

From the hunterxhunter source book the author stated that for the sake of the plot of the dark continent arc where Illumi was hired to join the troupe to kill Hisoka. It would be too much of a share-spotlight if they have Illumi and Shalnark in the troupes because of their similarity in abilities and their needle action of the abilities. :(

@@Neo-iu6mx i know them being manipulators but I dont think there'd be conflict or overlapping since Illumi is waaaay different fro Shalnark. Illumi can control so many puppets. He kills without puppets and is way stronger than most troupe.

in my understanding Hisoka kills the members of the spiders to empty Chrollo's book as nearly all stolen abilities get removed on death.
Chrollo used both Shalnark and kortopi's abilities to defeat him, so in turn Hisoka knew that those 2 didnt stand a chance against him without their abilities and removes 2 abilities from Chrollo's book for free

Great list man. Just to let you know that in hunter x hunter the phantom rogue movie we find out that the original #4 spider member was a man named Omokage. His nen ability allows him to make near perfect puppets of people and they can use the same nen abilities as those of the original people

The most impressive thing about hunter is Togashi's constant use of world building, both through his characters, magic sistem, story-arcs and even simple architecture and physical character quirks. The sheer variety in character backgrounds, represented in their apperance and speech, really helps sell this idea of a huge and dangerous world filled to the brim with surprise and unexpected adventure fodder. I'm always impressed by my newfound abbility to tell where a character might be from despite never getting any real details on either the geography or overall political and cultural state of the world. Not commiting to a set idea of "this country's people are like this" or "this is bassicaly a middle-east analogue" really helps the reader's imagination fllow in to fill the blanks. There's always something new in hunter and that's why i, and many others, love it so much.

I think the Phantom Troupe is really interesting and if we get more chapters I hope we get to see more of them
Chrollo deserves to be the head of the spider. He is well-loved and respected by the members/family.
It's canon according to a Togashi interview that he didn't choose to be leader, but that they all wanted him to be, so he just accepted it. It was mentioned because Togashi was talking about how Chrollo is somebody who can go with the flow very well, which he respects.

@@rishadhossain3581 The fact that he defeated one of the main antagonist in the series says a lot how powerful Chrollo is. He fought evenly with 2 Zoldycks and Zeno said that 1 vs 1, if Chrollo is serious, it will be a different story. Overall, he deserves to be the head of the spider: calm and collected yet full of power if unlocked.
He is weak compared to meruem and royal guards. Meruem would destroy the troupe under a minute

Pakunoda was surely my fave from the team when I was a child. Sacrificing herself for the team, makes her the team's strongest member. RIP Pakunoda. 💗
It’s crazy just thinking chrollo doesn’t care if he dies and cares more about the phantom troupe than anything and he thinks of himself as only part of the spider. This is why he is one of my favorite characters even though he is one of the antagonist.
Feitan is a badass who doesn’t give a shit about killing whoever stands in his way just saying also the way he says girly girl like a crackhead I can’t he’s my all time favorite hxh character and I haven’t even watched the full show only the episodes with him in them

Came here after the flashback to the troupes childhood days. This got me back on board, since they're the most compelling antagonistic groupe I've ever come across.

I have not yet seen the new manga's chapters. They told me there was a lot of Genei Ryodan's lore! I suppose, once it's done, I would need to do an "All Phantom Troupe Members 2.0" video
Jup, you get a lot of their back stories.
For example: Chrolo was a genius, already as a kid.
Phinks, Feitang and Shalnark seemed to be at the founding meeting. Also a strong portion of the main troupe grew up together - which makes their real motives to get revenge for killed members shine far brighter.

The former 4th member of Phantom Rouge before Hisoka is Omokage, his abilities create and control nen dolls by build it with a dead body or build it from scratch and make them to accomplies any command that Omokage replied to them
However, he's not canon though
I think the other member that used to be number 4 was Omokage cause he has a spider tattoo on his hand and it says 4, meaning that he used to be number 4 from the phantom troupe but then he got replaced
The original member of #4 in the Phantom Troupe was a puppeteer named Omokage. Omokage used his nen into puppets. He is only seen in the Phantom Rouge movie. I'm not sure about Shizuku replacing #8 though, I tried researching and couldn't find anything.

I don't think Hisoka has desire to kill the Phantom Troupe members. I believe he only kills Kortopi and Shalnark so that Chrollo would not be able to use their ability the next time they fight since their abilities were the one used in defeating Hisoka in that death match. Also, I want to see Nobunaga and Machi's full ability in a fight.

To someone who doesn't know from hunterxhunter movie (there's two movie) the original no.4 called homukage he's the one who's most obsessed to humans eyes.
So the kurta clan gets phantom troupe attention.
The name of #4 member of Phantom Hang is Homokage replced by Hisoka, his power is puppets he can manipulate puppets like Sasori, before he can do that he must take am eyes and put in puppet. He appeared in Hunter X Hunter : Phantom Troupe
My favorite member is Kalluto, Pakunoda, Machi and Shalnark
It’d be cool to see his okay use his hatsu more widely. He always does more simple tricks or goals with them but what if he used his nen to stick all the puppets to the floor or ceiling so none could explode on him? Or cover himself in a thick layer of his own nen and use it more traditionally but with the twist of it also having the defensive benefits of its elasticity for better defense. Idk it’d just be cool to see him use it more grandly or powerfully

The guy Hisoka replaced was Omokage. He is a puppeteer and was killed by Hisoka, but hisoka only defeated the doll version of him. his sole purpose of joing the troupe was to create puppets of the members. His ability Soul Doll allows him to make a doll copy of a person, the doll has all its memorys and it can live eternally, but they have to follow the orders of Omokage and can't defy his will. Omokage burns to death by a fire after being badly damaged and unable to move.

The facts on Feitan's personality were so biased xD. Like some I can't contest, like how he is sadistic, that is a fact, but the part about him but him being self centered, I don't necessarily agree with. He is one of the most devoted to the cause of the spiders, not the spiders themselves or Chrollo, he is devoted the ideology behind the spiders. I don't see how he is self centered, he's confident in his skills, and he has the right to be considering he's one of the most powerful characters we are introduced to, I think that a more accurate representation is that he is reserved with a cold exterior. Also him having a small patience isn't nessecarily wrong but how he is the only one portrayed with that flaw isn't accurate, when it comes to fighting others for example, Phinks and Uvogin are shown to not have as much patience and that is just one example amongst others. However the comment I found the harshest was the "yet to show any redeeming human quality". Despite being quite cold, Feitan has shown empathy towards others, he has said that he felt "most sorry" for his victims, which shows he is aware that he isn't a nice guy and that what he is doing is harming people, this point also links in with on how he isn't self centered as he is self aware which from my experience, self centered people aren't necessarily. He is also shown to be, as I previously said, he is devoted but he is also incredibly loyal and does have the ability to have friendships as we can see from how well he gets on with Shalnark and Phinks. Him and Shalnark are seen agreeing on multiple occasions and Feitan is seen trusting his judgement and expressed his confidence in how Shalnark and Uvogin wouldn't be taken down easily. And of course, his friendship with Phinks is a rather well known one. Like how they usually partner up, how they obviously have faith in each other and each other's skills and other smaller instances like how they have a friendly contest going on and how Shalnark and him tease Feitan and so on. This was kinda long but I just don't like seeing biased things in videos that are meant to be informatoive. Yes this comment is biased but it's meant to counter act the original bias. I know that all of that doesn't stop him from being an antagonist but the way that you portrayed him in the video made it like he was the only evil one and all the others were redeemable when in reality, once you get to understand them, they are in their own ways. By redeeming Feitan, I am in no way saying that what he has done is morally right in any way, I'm just saying that nothing in the world of Hunter x Hunter is morally right in general.
