Yes see how you get on.
Hot pressed allows the card to glide. When I use the card on rough paper it marks because of the tooth of the paper and it is also difficult to use the spraying technique because the paint does not flow as well.
I am checking back in. My painting has improved so much with hot press paper. But i have many pads of arches cold press. I cannot get the same or even close results with cold press. Do you know anyway around this. Or should I slowly replace my paper to hot press?
Arches cold press paper is very good. Maybe you could swap it with someone else for sell it?

I was using 300 g 100% cotton watercolour paper so didn’t need to do any extra to the paper.
Karen what is the difference between cold pressed and hot pressed paper? 😊
