I long gave up on the RandRHOF years ago. It took them, like, fifty years to put great TRUE rock bands like Rush, Yes, and Deep Purple in there, while they had acknowledged non-rock artists all the time. Like the Acadamy Awards for movies, this organization has lost all sense of reality and all credibility. Now they have LL Cool Jay and Wham????? More like a Crock Hall of Fame.
Recent trip to the Hall of Fame went to the fifth floor, which is legends of rock floor. The biggest display on that floor was Taylor Swift. 🤮. No kiss., AC/DC., Led Zeppelin, metallica, such a massive disappointment The place had more hip-hop and pop music than it did rock ‘n’ roll stuff. 😢
@@stepanbandera5206 not joking. It was sad 😢. I asked two different attendance where all the rock and roll stuff was they both gave me the same story of their grown off of donations and groups donate materials to them. They have nothing to display. Massive disappointment.
I think the number one reason why they won’t be a Led Zeppelin reunion, Michael, is that Robert Plant simply cannot reach the notes that he could reach. If there’s anything close to a reunion, it would probably be more of the acoustic numbers in an intimate setting.

Plant sang Stairway because a big spending donor (for the charity concert) asked for the song to be performed. You won't see the three members of Zeppelin playing together again. Page wanted to release more live Zeppelin but he was blocked by another member. (guess who) Also, Jason Bonham gave an interview on how Page introduced him to some "foreign" substances. Days later, Page's lawyer threatened to sue him if he didn't retract it. Led Zeppelin has been and always be my favorite band. But it's over. 2007 O2 was the last show. Plant is in two acts (Plant/Krauss and Saving Grace) and Page is retired.
Rock & Roll has no HOF. It died many years ago. I visited Cleveland a few years ago. Was invited to go to the place but chose to visit a local pub instead.
In this case it means forced "diversity" and "inclusiveness", installing artists from pop, country, motown, rap, and hiphop while bypassing dozens of genuine rock acts.@@ThatGuyThanus
There is no rock and roll. It died years ago. And when The Stones finally give up, probably by death, that will be the absolute end of what we knew as Rock And Roll. The RRHOF organization needs a show to fill their coffers so this is what they do. 98% of these people have nothing to do with actual rock and roll.
There are many who got to see LZ at the peak of their powers in the 70’s, and some who saw them even earlier, at the very beginning. I don’t think anyone misses them more then me. I was lucky enough to have seen them eight times, and I’m afraid that’s going to have to be good enough…. It’s done, it’s over, and has been since 1980 when we lost the great John Henry Bonham. The legacy is there, it’s safe, and should remain that way for all time, preserved in history.
George Michael in / Emerson Lake & Palmer not? - Missy Elliot in / Grand Funk not?, etc etc - This is an ASIDE from the woke nonsense - Jeez, does the BS ever stop...
Personally, I dont want to see Jimmy and Robert do any of the old tunes they've done many times before. I want to see them write and perform a brand new original track that represents where they truly are at this point in their lives. Probably won't happen but you never know.
"At this point in their lives." LOL. Come on, Jimmy Page will be 80 years old in January and is worth over $200 Million dollars. The guy isn't in his 40's. You really think the guy is gonna record new material???? He's done enough after 60+ years in the music industry.
@@robertwheatley2471 Thank you. this is what I have been trying to say. That Jimmy started out professionally at 14. He has done amazing things for music and created, headed up and produced the greatest band ever. He teamed up with Black Crowes and Coverdale, ect. He wrote a book and lectured. He is a legend. an icon. I have thought for awhile he is semi retired and doing whatever he wants to do that day. He deserves some fun and just to mess around and enjoy the 'spoils' of his work. Just enjoy life and take it easy.
@@DianeLake-sw3ym --Correct. Page's contributions have been more than enough having been in 3 bands, 2 or 3 solo records and collaboration with both the Black Crowes and Coverdale. I doubt he would put out any new material at age 80 that might be sub-par or not as good as what he did 40 years ago and I don't think he would run that risk unless he chooses to. Just live out and enjoy the final stretch run. He certainly doesn't need to prove anything at this point.
I gave up on the R&R HOF after about four years of its existence. And this is coming from a guy that spent over a decade in radio playing ‘oldies’ from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. It is entirely a joke and serves no purpose. Frankly, I forget about it until vids like this pop up.
I wholly applaund RRHOF changing its name to the (S)hit Show Hall of fame..it would be perfect for them. True Rock and Roll hasnt been recognized in that place for awhile.
I once complained to the RHF that so many "famous" bands are not in it. They replied that it isn't about record sales or popularity. I said it's like the inventor of the aluminum bat was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, but Babe Ruth was snubbed.
Jimmy has an ear for rock history and he's my favorite guitarist, but I don't want to see he and Robert go at it again. I don't know how Jimmy's playing is, but Robert's vocals are about 1000 packs of cigarettes too far gone. More than ten years gone.
If they want to be taken seriously take rock n roll out of the title and call it the Popular Music hall of fame. Unfortunately R&R is no longer the dominant music, also groups playing their own instruments and writing their own material have all but disappeared. Also the album is also dead, people just download singles. It’s quite sad really .
What I keep wondering is what makes the R&R HOF so official? Why can’t a big name, or a group of big names in Rock, start a R&R HOF that aims to be legitimate?
Michael, breaking out the truth here, I have never seen a video from you. However, the algorithm gods are happy with me today and I really dug your take, open and honest (plus, as a bonus, I agreeded with your entire spiel). Hey. Nice video. From the Rock & Roll HOF's inception, I always thought it was pretentious. It was the ultimate "Answer to a question no one asked". Or, Groucho Marx's quote: "I wouldn't belong to a club that would have me as a member".

Hey Michael, great seeing ya last night. It was an all-star panel and a great discussion on Royce in the House. Always a pleasure. I never watch these RRHOF shows. It's a bastardization of the term Rock & Roll and whether Wenner is there or not, the show still reflects his biases, politics, and sensibilities. No thanks! I do want to add that in addition to his songwriting, Willie Nelson is also a really good guitar player, especially when he shows off his Django influence. Gotta love that Trigger guitar too. As for one final Zep reunion, How Many More Times will you Ramble On about this? We must all accept What Is and What Should Never Be. Ok ok, that's enough of my silliness for one day. You know I sympathize with your position on this. As you say, hope springs eternal. I would just love if Jimmy would stop talking, get off his arse, and go out and play again. He should have done this following the release of It Might Get Loud. The timing was really right then. I have seen nearly all my heroes live except Jimmy, so that is where my own hope lies. 🙏🙏🙏 Thanks as always for being the voice of reason and accountability with the Hall of Shame. Keep up the awesome work, my friend.
Thank you Michael, enjoyed your thoughts. Hope does spring eternal in my heart but the only problemI see if it were to come to fruition is that only those with means would be able to afford such an event. I also have a huge soft spot for the underserved. See you at Royce’s House!
Excellent presentation! Just checking your videos out for the first time, and really enjoyed it! That performance by Page was practically the only saving grace of a lost cause known as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I'm a huge Zeppelin fan, and I strongly agree that the world needs at least one more Zep reunion. However, as I wrote in another comment elsewhere, the boys need to seriously get moving before the history books close. The recent release of the final Beatles song is sad evidence of that.
As Royce just commented to you here, you’re so right Stuart! “Time keeps on tickin’ Tickin’ into the future!” 🎶🎶🎶 And BTW, thanx for checking out the channel brother! ❤❤❤
What would TomPetty say? Music changes … where do I put all the rest … Nelson is not Country. Sorry folks know. He burned that bridge along spinners? Do you think that’s cool. Yikes. Wow. I guess when you get inducted into the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame we can say. Why are you being inducted?
Diversity and wokism has damaged this institution beyond recognition. Time to re-name it “The all music hall of fame”. Then rock purists start a true rock and roll hall of fame.
The question is, do we really want to see a Zepp reunion in their twilight years? For me, there never was a proper Zeppelin reunion anyway, not without Bonham.
Reminds me of when Jethro Tull beat out Metallica for a grammy in '89. That is the rock and roll hall of fame, Jethro Tull being bigger rockers than Metallica. Hell-arious
Change the name to the “music hall of fame”. Problem solved. It’s a joke to call it the “rock and roll hall of fame”. Start another Rock and roll hall of fame elsewhere, maybe Detroit.
Maybe his disparaging remarks weren’t necessarily about gender and race, but about this exactly. I don’t know what he said specifically, but this is probably what he was fighting against. Sheryl Crow being inducted before a band like The Guess Who is just insulting. Any hip hop artist getting inducted period (aside from maybe the likes of RUN DMC or Beastie Boys) is just bizarre. There has to be a very specific reason for crossovers. Like John Fogerty being in the Baseball Hall of Fame. It was a popular song about baseball so maybe that makes sense.
AGREED! The Rock 'n' Roll Hall of fame is pretty much a joke! Even without Jann Wernner there! They need to seriously take off the Rock part of the name, and just call it the music hall of fame! As well, there were only two highlights for me and that was Kate Bush's induction, even though she didn't attend and that's due to her huge fear of flying! But easily the second was Jimmy's surprise appearance! And he played exactly like he always did, flaws and all and that what makes him so great!
Hey Michael, I really enjoyed seeing Jimmy Page’s induction for Link!!! I thought it was awesome!! But the R&RHofF just Sucks! And Jimmy is going to be 80 in January , getting back together with the boys seems like a reach!!! But you never say never?!?!?!? Rock on 🤘
Dang, I didn't know Jimmy Page performed on the RRHOF. I might have watched it. I gave up on that joke of an award show long ago. I've watched it a few times when there was an artist I liked being inducted. Well, at least I watched the part where the artist played or got inducted. On one of the Zeppelin groups I'm in, I noticed a ton of emails going out earlier today. I haven't looked at any of them yet but now I know what is probably being shared there! The first thing I thought when you mentioned JP played was "hmm, Robert Plant just saying Stairway. Is Jimmy doing this because of that or could something be going on"? Well I can definitely say I hope something is going on. They don't have a lot of time left to do something but if they do they better make it Led Zeppelin and include John Paul Jones! Here's hoping... Brian in Fort Worth 🎶
The pop and roll hall of shame. Still no Iron Maiden and or Scorpions. Took forever to nominate Rush. Its a joke. Someone needs to start a new one and make it legit.
sorry but the days of hoping for a led oncore are over for me. They are just too old. I heard Plant sing and he has lost his chops and I am sure he knows that. Page might be able to do it with another guitarist to fill in the gaps and cover the gaffs and Plant could do it with another singer to hit high notes and cover the missed notes but then what would be the point? I'd rather just remember them as the great band they were and not see them embarrass themselves in their old age. Great band and great memories.
Link Wray invented Heavy Metal with "Rumble". That song was banned from jukeboxes and airplay. OOOOOH! I used to be urked that he never got into the hall, but now I believe he is better than the RNRHOF.

Long Overdue 🙏
I'm so happy to see Jimmy play again. He sounded great too!! He nailed link rays tone aswell
The biggest head-scratcher for me was the induction of Dolly Parton. Dolly Parton? For real?
It should be called music hall of Fame. There are so many Rock Bands that are not in there, it's so sad. 🤘😎
My favorite Rock Hall moment was Alex Lifeson's acceptance speech at Rush's induction in 2013. Possibly the best acceptance speech ever! 😁
Blah blah blah blah blah blah
@@James-vx8ci 👍😁
I think an even better induction speech was given by Iggy Pop when the Stooges were inducted in 2010. The first thing Iggy Pop did was to give a double middle-finger aimed at the HOF, Jann Wenner, and the music industry execs. He then said "well here we are in the belly of the beast".
@@pbracey1 Rightfully so on Iggy's part by giving that narcissistic, ignorant, pompous prick Jann Wenner the finger, he's lucky that's all Iggy gave him. I gave up on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame years ago for obvious reasons. I agree with your comments👍
It took Rush 39 years to get in the hall, while Madonna gets in there the first year she's eligible.
Any hard rock/ metal band worth its salt should avoid this sham like the plague.
Diversity has killed, movies, books, tv, music, the world in general.
It used to mean something and now it got contaminated from crazies abusing it
Lol you got to be kidding?
@Ac0ustics0ul don't make me laugh.
Everything.
Move to Russia then, nothing but white people you'll love it
I long gave up on the RandRHOF years ago.
I have always thought ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME was BS.
Recent trip to the Hall of Fame went to the fifth floor, which is legends of rock floor. The biggest display on that floor was Taylor Swift. 🤮. No kiss., AC/DC., Led Zeppelin, metallica, such a massive disappointment
The place had more hip-hop and pop music than it did rock ‘n’ roll stuff. 😢
Please tell me you're joking.🤦
@@stepanbandera5206 not joking. It was sad 😢. I asked two different attendance where all the rock and roll stuff was they both gave me the same story of their grown off of donations and groups donate materials to them. They have nothing to display. Massive disappointment.

"OH YEAH".
I think the number one reason why they won’t be a Led Zeppelin reunion, Michael, is that Robert Plant simply cannot reach the notes that he could reach. If there’s anything close to a reunion, it would probably be more of the acoustic numbers in an intimate setting.
Christ, Robert couldn't hit the high notes since '74. Have you listened to physical graffiti lately? He was already struggling.
That didn't stop LZ from reuniting in 2007.

@@michaelrochester48 What's your point? Every live album is sweetened with studio trickery.
100% on target, Michael. The RRHOF is now a sick joke. Woke Bull$hit.
Well said Don! ❤❤❤
What does woke mean?
In this case it means forced "diversity" and "inclusiveness", installing artists from pop, country, motown, rap, and hiphop while bypassing dozens of genuine rock acts.@@ThatGuyThanus
There is no rock and roll. It died years ago. And when The Stones finally give up, probably by death, that will be the absolute end of what we knew as Rock And Roll. The RRHOF organization needs a show to fill their coffers so this is what they do. 98% of these people have nothing to do with actual rock and roll.
They just need to change the name and leave out the title Rock and Roll.
RRHOF proves the old adage that there is a sucker born every minute
There are many who got to see LZ at the peak of their powers in the 70’s, and some who saw them even earlier, at the very beginning.
I don’t think anyone misses them more then me. I was lucky enough to have seen them eight times, and I’m afraid that’s going to have to be good enough….
It’s done, it’s over, and has been since 1980 when we lost the great John Henry Bonham. The legacy is there, it’s safe, and should remain that way for all time, preserved in history.
I saw them in Toronto ‘69.
Rock n Roll hall of shame is a FRICKING joke!!!
George Michael in / Emerson Lake & Palmer not? - Missy Elliot in / Grand Funk not?, etc etc - This is an ASIDE from the woke nonsense - Jeez, does the BS ever stop...
No never and the list of bands who should be in and are not is almost endless.Meanwhile, the Hall is busy inducting mediocrities instead.
They are honored for what they did, not for what they are doing now.
Spot on Jon! 👌❤❤
Bad company/foreigner better than the crap that they have put in
I gave up on the R&R HOF after about four years of its existence. And this is coming from a guy that spent over a decade in radio playing ‘oldies’ from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. It is entirely a joke and serves no purpose. Frankly, I forget about it until vids like this pop up.
Would be great to pause inductions if rock and roll criteria not met. They're acting as if they have a quota to meet.
That sounds about right.
I wonder if OZZY OSBOURNE, IRON MAIDEN, KISS, BLACK SABBATH, DIO, SAMMY HAGAR, OR RUSH are going to be in the R N B OR HIP HOP HALL OF FAME?
I wholly applaund RRHOF changing its name to the (S)hit Show Hall of fame..it would be perfect for them. True Rock and Roll hasnt been recognized in that place for awhile.
I once complained to the RHF that so many "famous" bands are not in it. They replied that it isn't about record sales or popularity. I said it's like the inventor of the aluminum bat was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, but Babe Ruth was snubbed.
Never watched the phony hall of fame shows and never will. Only Semi's would bother.
Remember when Thor was the only one worthy of the hammer ? I do too. But now, everyone is worthy.
The rock and roll hall of fame hasn't been legitimate for decades. It's a popularity contest
Jimmy has an ear for rock history and he's my favorite guitarist, but I don't want to see he and Robert go at it again. I don't know how Jimmy's playing is, but Robert's vocals are about 1000 packs of cigarettes too far gone. More than ten years gone.
The Rock & Roll HOF should be an embarassment to any rock and roll fan.
It is all about who they want to be in the HOF.
I can’t believe all of these amazing people of true Rock and Roll aren’t there
Need to change the name of this building. Joke!!!
the hall is bullshit
It's outrageous that they were ever even allowed to call it a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The only true minority in this Hall of Fame is Rock & Roll.
You know there's something wrong with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame if the Dave Clark Five members all had to die before they could get in
If they want to be taken seriously take rock n roll out of the title and call it the Popular Music hall of fame.
I don't subscribe to "music" related channels... but today made an exception. Thanks for your work and I look forward to digging thru what I've missed from you. Happy T Day sir.

"Not even Jimmy Page couldn't save it." ? Don't you mean "could".
Hey. Nice video. From the Rock & Roll HOF's inception, I always thought it was pretentious. It was the ultimate "Answer to a question no one asked". Or, Groucho Marx's quote: "I wouldn't belong to a club that would have me as a member".
so chaka kahn george michael and missy elliot are worthy of being in rock n roll hall of fame but bad company foreigner billy squier iron maiden styx and many others arent??? what a joke. think about that paul rodgers one of the most iconic voices in rock history is not in the rock n roll hall of fame thats insane

Paul Rodgers has made it clear that he wants nothing to do with the RRHOF.
🙏🙏🙏
Thanks as always for being the voice of reason and accountability with the Hall of Shame. Keep up the awesome work, my friend.
Iron maiden not a member bs.No Jethro Tull rock and roll hall of fame is a joke.
Thank you Michael, enjoyed your thoughts. Hope does spring eternal in my heart but the only problemI see if it were to come to fruition is that only those with means would be able to afford such an event. I also have a huge soft spot for the underserved. See you at Royce’s House!

Great comment, Nick! Thanks for cohosting last night much appreciated.
Nobody in America cares about any award shows or watches them anymore.

It’s pretty much a woke promoting propaganda show. Peter is good enough to play on this show but cant become a member, what a travesty!

R&R HOF is a misnomer.
How about creating a Music Hall of Fame? Then they could put Rock artists in the Rock Hall of Fame.
Some of their inductees don't even qualify as music. Is there a Noise Hall of Fame?
I'm on board if the name got changed to "The Music Hall Of Fame".
Rock and roll Hall of crap

I'm a little late to the conversation here, but I totally agree with you Michael!!! Let's just call them the Rock and Roll hall of LAME!!! 🙄
