Good job. I have never been stuck in my D9R with the ripper. But I have been stuck in the same D9R without a ripper. I was making access roads for dump trucks to bring clean fill at Fresh Kills Landfill. The area was dry, and it had not rained in weeks. I backed off my own ros to let a truck dump stone, and "plump" in went the D9. I called for help, and two of my buddies (coworkers) came and pushed me back onto my access road. They were in a D6R LGP and a Track loader 973. They both were able to push me without sinking one inch. Sometimes, there would be ground water. (Leachate) just a few feet under the surface. This made it look dry. You could walk on it. Drive a pickup truck, Swamp Cat, or Trax on it. Even a Cat 400 or 745 6x6 on it. But a fully loaded 10 or 18 wheel dump truck or D9. Nope. Hence, we had to build access roads everywhere.
Pretty good way of getting some dry soil under the front of the tracks with the blade and then sticking the ripper down and trying to get the soil under the tracks. Excellent job on that..and also excellent job to the operator to get help when he knew hes screwed. One definitely needs to man up and ask help when needed and not get into worse trouble.
What I observed mAINLY---was the operator keeping a cool head, not abusing the Cat at all, and slowly working his way out. A panicked dummy would have cranked that throttle up and dug to China. Good job I think, nice to watch.
If you operate a dozer and you have never got stuck in the mud, then you are not a good dozer operator. The point is, getting stuck is actually quite common when working with heavy mud. The heavier the machine, the more likely it will bog down. A D10 is fairly to moderately heavy. So getting her out can take a little time and patience. To those that think and or believe dozer operators should never ever get stuck in the mud, you really don't know what you are talking about. All tracked vehicles can get stuck. A good operator might know how to avoid it, but a get operator does the job and if the dozer gets stuck in the mud, he gets her out.🔧
Getting stuck in mud is the measure of a good operator huh. I've bogged a d9 and a d85 so i guess I'm a great operator. I'll just stay away from the mud in the 475. Shut down operations to retrieve a 100+ tonne dozer won't go over well.
all the experts on giving advice, do this do that, should of done this he should of got that. that is a job very nicley done getting that beast out there without and panic... just kept calm and persuaded her to home out... very nice
The ripper was used to first break the suction and get the tracks up on the surface again, then it was used to push as every little bit helps in a case like this. Oh and you might want to check your fuel consumption you see to be off by a whole decimal place and then some.
@chasejanus Lift the tracks up with ripper and blade to break the suction and let dirt fall under the tracks. Then lift the blade and slowly track forward as you shank out (pushes). You can use the ripper and blade to kind of pack the area first. The second you make no progress STOP so you can still be towed.
a man once tole me if your ever gunna get something stuck get it stuck properly theres nothing worse than you boss coming over and jumping it and driving it out like we have just seen good job man
Beautiful machines to operate and mega capable....but 72 tonnes doesn't normally go well on soft snot, once the belly plate is taking the weight of the machine the tracks won't move it.....good deal using the tyne to push it out. How easy the tyne went in shows the machine is on +++ soft material and that always gives an "oh shit" feeling when the machine starts going down.
@catkomatsudeere115 An LGP option on a 10 is kinda of a moot subject. That much weight on wider tracks is still too heavy. As far as I can remember 24" shoes are the only option on a 10.
What's up with the name calling today. Sorry about most of what I said yesterday. This trade has made me alittle crazy lol. Have a good day. No I didn't watch it all. Had a phone call and missed it. He got it out. Good for him
Looks like your cuting up against a4 ft walland you have awide area thats been sitting insun and wind , take smaller cuts and move over. Then qo back and do it again.
Could you walk around and shake the camera some more? I didn't get seasick enough. Otherwise, this was interesting to watch. But seriously, your tracks were packed with mud, making them into one slick surface with no tread. Why wouldn't you pull the mud out from the tracks on top so when they go back around they could actually get some traction? Why would you try to drive up and over a mud mound when you could reverse out of there, or try turning sideways?
@therealjimguy So what i think he was doing a good job. look at the ground. I would have a hard time keeping it from shaking. Plus i doubt you even now how to use one or have one.
The guy taking the video got it stuck. I am his boss and got it out for him as I have more experience with this sort of thing. Also he was pushing out mud to dry, it's not perfect conditions for a large dozer but has to be done. I bet you'd get stuck sooner or later too!
vantagetes great job getting out only problem is wrong machine for the job at hand. i know the 10 moves a tremendous amount of soil but in those conditions a lighter machine with wider pads in long run save time and money. Simply because of time spent getting unstuck verses moving material.
nurtsurt he's the one that got the D10 stuck... why would you expect his camera operating skills to be any better?? haha just making a joke hope he learned a little from the boss man about getting unstuck though 👍🏻
Ohh... sry man I must not have watched the whole thing I didn't know you got him out... I watch videos before bed and after work kinda off beat at that time
isn't it bad enough you got it stuck and you hope no one saw or is watching then some guy shows up with a camera. good job slow and easy wins the race. i know people that would have buried it right up to the doors so they can get out.
if you had ever got a big dozer stuck and had to pay to have it winched with a tow truck or get ass chewin for shutting down the other hand and his 100$ per hr bull tractor you`d appreciate this video ....I understand you not understanding
What with your camera technique and your buddies dozer driving I see long successful careers for you both...just clearly not in videography or dozer driving.
Very nice. Seems like an operator who really knows their machine and how to use weight transfer and implements to break free. Nice video.
Good job. I have never been stuck in my D9R with the ripper. But I have been stuck in the same D9R without a ripper. That was great. It's nice to watch a master at work.

+Erika Krausmann a d10 is the second largest dozer caterpillar makes... so yea I would say it's a pretty heavy machine
Getting stuck in mud is the measure of a good operator huh. I've bogged a d9 and a d85 so i guess I'm a great operator. I'll just stay away from the mud in the 475. Shut down operations to retrieve a 100+ tonne dozer won't go over well.
Nicely done. Can't just call Joe's Towing to pull that thing out of slop hole.
Just wondering would the hydraulic pumps/drives overheat in such conditions? And, what is the obvious difference between a D10N and D10R?
you sir ..are a genius....well done
all the experts on giving advice, do this do that, should of done this he should of got that. that is a job very nicley done getting that beast out there without and panic... just kept calm and persuaded her to home out... very nice
Your right I should have watched it all before I comented. I learn something every day and today is no exception to that. have a good day
Great job!
Cool and calm slow and steady when it comes to equipment it will generally win the race!
Holy crap you are the boss..nice job!
GOOD JOB MAN!
The ripper was used to first break the suction and get the tracks up on the surface again, then it was used to push as every little bit helps in a case like this. Oh and you might want to check your fuel consumption you see to be off by a whole decimal place and then some.
baby steps and don't freak out ! good job !
@chasejanus Lift the tracks up with ripper and blade to break the suction and let dirt fall under the tracks. Then lift the blade and slowly track forward as you shank out (pushes). Why dont you use a smaller dozer or one with an lgp setup?
Nice work there.
It was deeper the further you go back, and once the back idler is under the surface it won't climb up and out but rather drive itself further down.
a man once tole me if your ever gunna get something stuck get it stuck properly theres nothing worse than you boss coming over and jumping it and driving it out like we have just seen good job man
you ever moved the front of the cat sideways with the blade when stuck?,its amazing what you can get out of
how long was it stuck there for?
two or three would do it,im only saying not dissing your vids there cool, liked the new GPS vid and hello from nortwales!
Once the belly plates hit the mud, you're in strife. Best escape I've seen in a while well done. IS that mud or muskeg? Or just found a spring?
@Cat314DLCR It's a pile of melted frost so it's pretty wet to say the least.
Lifting the back of the tractor with the ripper is to break the suction the mud has on the bottom of the tractor.
that cat sounds nice
well done ! :)
@RangieNZ Yeah next time I'm getting the packer guy to hold the camera.
@jrand33 Had it out in about 10 minutes.
Super opérateur bravo
Beautiful machines to operate and mega capable....but 72 tonnes doesn't normally go well on soft snot, once the belly plate is taking the weight of the machine the tracks won't move it.....good deal using the tyne to push it out. How easy the tyne went in shows the machine is on +++ soft material and that always gives an "oh shit" feeling when the machine starts going down.
Good pice of driving there ;)
Do you ever get that sinking feeling?
@forkdriver500 It's a huge pile of frost which is melting and needed to be pushed out to dry.
so you used the ripper to lift yourself up and then used the blade to sort of move the dozer out of the mud?
@dozerman8114 Who's ripping mud?
good job
batman if you notice how easy the riper is sinking in the mud the ground looks more solid in the font
Dang, if you get that beast completely stuck, it's gotta be rough finding anything big enough to pull it out!
You guys must have had fun at the steam pad after the job was done lol.
@catkomatsudeere115 An LGP option on a 10 is kinda of a moot subject. That much weight on wider tracks is still too heavy. As far as I can remember 24" shoes are the only option on a 10.
"THERE!.. now YOU clean the tracks!!"
Thats cool bro. Wish 2 learn it 2
about fucking time.
That's it. keep digging that machine down. don't stop till you get to the floor boards.
Hey dumbass did you see the part at the end where it came out?
What's up with the name calling today. Sorry about most of what I said yesterday. This trade has made me alittle crazy lol. Have a good day. No I didn't watch it all. Had a phone call and missed it. He got it out. Good for him
+Robin Ross buggy operators tend to have that effect on blade hands. All good.
@mstaff657 Erm...what exactly?
again? is it just that soil on one project givin yall troubles?
That may have been all that was available to him.
if you get out on your own you're not stuck just temporally delayed
@catkomatsudeere115 Actually you can buy lgp configured D7s and 8s
@redheadedduckhunter Cause this is the one we have, and there's a lot of dirt to be pushed. This pile is going over to the trees you can see.
Looks like your cuting up against a4 ft walland you have awide area thats been sitting insun and wind , take smaller cuts and move over. Then qo back and do it again.
Nice work with the ripper and patience. I see the trolls are everywhere, like flies on shit.
I miss having a job
using the ripper as leverage. Nice
got sea sick watching
молодец! нет слов.
The tracks of the D10 are too narrow - according the weight of the engine - older dozers had wider tracks
Two f***** words: KEEP STILL!!
must be getting paid by the hour
at first it looked like a goner
Could you walk around and shake the camera some more? I didn't get seasick enough.

Very good operator...most would have sunk.
or even better two D8 LGP`s didn't think they made then in wide pad till I saw a dutch vid with two running, well cool!
👍👍👍
@therealjimguy So what i think he was doing a good job. look at the ground. I would have a hard time keeping it from shaking. Plus i doubt you even now how to use one or have one.
Been there done it ! shit happens, he done well to get it out without another machine
@godackgudalach1 You mean since I got in and got him out?
Good work getting the 10 out. not Alot of hands could have done that.
for a high track that thing dont have much clearance but could be just the vidoe
why so heavy dozer ?? in to the mud !
hes trying to plow the mud/loosen it up
I sure miss ur video's..
I would never of walked in front of that dozer stuck or not
close call -= you never know when your gonna sink in
Good luck pushing that pile 300m with a D6 LGP, you'd be there for a year!
baby steps and a cool head !
well..looking at the underfoot condition. The owner should have installed/selected an LGP (low ground pressure) undercarriage on this one.
Sai Salinas you cannot get the LGP package in anything larger than a D8

If u were a boss u wouldn't get it close to getting in that situation
fire Shaky the cameraman.
Cartepillar power🔥🔥🔥🔥🦾

"R" is for ripper ...and yea they get hot but this is a cat not a yanmar
Bad job, but congrats to that operator ;)!!!
For fuck sake stay still Mr Camerman, I'm getting dizzy.
nurtsurt he's the one that got the D10 stuck... why would you expect his camera operating skills to be any better?? haha just making a joke hope he learned a little from the boss man about getting unstuck though 👍🏻
Ohh... sry man I must not have watched the whole thing I didn't know you got him out... I watch videos before bed and after work kinda off beat at that time

D6 LPG for that wet shit!!
@theoman69 No faith man, no faith.
@MrHook80 Congrats to his boss who got him out (me).
give it shit!!!!!!
nice vid but damn the camera guy needs to lay off the coffee or something.
if you had ever got a big dozer stuck and had to pay to have it winched with a tow truck or get ass chewin for shutting down the other hand and his 100$ per hr bull tractor you`d appreciate this video ....I understand you not understanding
D6 lgp should be better ....
Since he got himself out did you guys still make him buy doughnuts for lost time... I've seen guys fired for less hahaha
@vantagetes
What with your camera technique and your buddies dozer driving I see long successful careers for you both...just clearly not in videography or dozer driving.
