In Spain is common to live with little money but also it's true that we spaniards spend little, so we live a quiet and humble life. Apparently to get a better economic life, a lot of people go to another countries (taxes in Spain are quite high)
I live in a town near to Seville where is cheaper than Valencia, also is less touristic as there's no beach. I earn each month around 1700€, which is not a lot but I got to save money and go out some days to the bars. I spend each month around 1100€ (food 400, mobile 7, wifi 15, house+water+light 450, misc 200)

I love your videos! I found your channel 4 days ago and been watching about 4 videos of your videos daily. I agree, things in the States is in serious decline! The mass shootings is absolutely INSANE!! I currently reside in West Knoxville, Tennessee. I have lived all around America from Oahu to Kauai, the state of Washington, Arizona, Florida and currently East Tennessee. I might try either Texas or New England for the remainder of my 4 years here in the States. My job allows me to go anywhere within the US. My one-bedroom apartment was $800 monthly, but has increased to $1,300 monthly since moving here 2.5 years ago. My weekly car fuel costs about $25.00, Car insurance is $420 for the 6 month premium with clean abstract. Electricity $50 to $60 monthly with A/C running 24 hours, cooking all my meals and clothes washer and dryer - all electric apartment. Groceries are $100 to $120 weekly. Fast internet $35 monthly. Mobile phone $80 monthly (AT&T). I'm planning to move to Georgia in Eastern Europe in 4 years, but I would like to do so in Spain but I would only be able to get a 90 day Visa. Georgia allows a 365 day stay and I would only need to cross over the border and then return for another 365 days. Easy! But Spain looks SO attractive! When I leave, I'll downsize to one medium size roller bag and a backpack with my 11kg dog in tow. It's just me and my dog. Simple! All the best!!!

Great video. Interesting to see what you spend, especially as you're paying for your rent on a month-to-month basis, which presumably makes it more expensive. It's also very helpful to see that your budget allow you to go out, do things, treat yourself, etc. Re. comparing your costs with costs in other places. I live in a NYC suburb (not in the city like you do, which I would prefer to do but couldn't afford to do in New York City), live in what's considered a bargain one-bedroom apartment which doesn't have co-working, roof terrace, etc.. Just my mortgage + my building fees (including heat, hot water, parking) per week equals your total budget for the week. Put another way, what I pay just for accommodation (considered sooo cheap by everybody I know here [except me - smile]) is what you spend for everything. I hope this provides helpful context. Thanks again for your informative and inspirational videos. Wonderful food for thought and a useful perspective on the living options available around the world.

I also really want to experience a different culture. I’m in the process of applying for my Italian citizenship at the N.Y.C consulate but it will take some time to get. Our expenses are about $5,500 a Month. We make about $15,000 before tax a month. Making this money in Valencia would be amazing. Thank you for your videos, they are very informative.

485/person/week seems a bit high. At least expats from my country (Hungary) tried to crucify me when I said 1100 eur/month for a person might not be enough. They said, nahhh, you will even have some money left with a salary like that.
I guessed around 3500-4000 eur/month for us (2 person), when we move to Valencia in 3-4 months. But it doesn't feel cheap :D currently living in Budapest and I spend like between 250-300eur/week (have my own house, have to pay my loans, but don't have rent, and usually go for high priced programs, and while not eating out that much, usually go to nice restaurants), which is pretty high in Budapest. Still moving, because Valencia is much more beautiful and people there are more nice and the whole atmosphere is better than in Hungary.

I agree, I don't think 1100 euro a month salary is enough right now for the current world wide inflation. Things definitely aren't as cheap as they used to be

    Saludos cordiales!.

Hey Antoanetta, love your videos, but there's no way you spend $182/wk for an apt in Ruzafa. I was just on the website and there were no places that I could see that were less than $3000/mo. AirBnB cheapest for 1 month is $1800 near Ruzafa.

There is an inaccuracy in your video. Well at least in my opinion. You divided everything by two except the rent which is not insignificant as 90 euros is around 20% of your calculated weekly budget.
You might be paying it all but I think the intend of the video is to show how much you and only you spend per week so a single person can easily relate.
So if you deduct that it works out to around 390 euros a week which seems reasonable if you want a certain standard of living. Certainly way cheaper than in the US for a similar lifestyle.
P.S.: found the gym extremely expensive. Does it have a pool, sauna, etc.?

    • @ANTOANETTA
      @ANTOANETTA  2 года назад +2

Yes I just divided it by 2 since we are a couple. It is an approximation after all, even my expenses vary week to week 😊 The gym is a little pricey but closest to us, no pool no sauna. There are other options. My regular gym is 29 euro per month 👍🏼 and yes many other things are cheaper and better quality than in the US! Thanks for watching!
