So Good! Ive also heard Burglar's Wine instead of Burgandy. Its a poisoned bottle of wine left out on the kitchen table incase a burglar might break in and see it
www.lulawiles.com/ - a concert in my friends garage, The girl in the center is her niece. This is a great song and many variations exist both in the states and in the UK. Thanks for the comment
It's a different version, dude. These musicians took creative liberty and changed the song in a way they saw fit for their personal style/taste. It's different from the original, but geez they're allowed to be creative. Haven't you ever heard a musician take an original melody and then cover it in a completely different style? That's what they're doing, and they did a great job. Just enjoy the music for what it is and don't get caught up in the past
The best part about music is that it can be interpreted and reinterpreted many different ways. These ladies did a fantastic job with this cover regardless of the break in traditional structure.
Fantastic! Thank you!!! It is so important that these old ballads be preserved. I love to see young people sing and appreciate them.
I wonder why you think that it is important to preserve murder ballads. I don't get the appeal.
Just discovered this. Absolutely compelling. Beautiful. Thank you!
Wow, this is one of the best versions I've heard of this song, Well done! If I only had half as much musical talent as ya'll I'd be happy :P.
Quit wishing. Start practicing every day.

Written by an Irish man in Ireland.
This is traditionally done in 3/4 time and this video has the timing and phrasing all wrong.

The plugged-in guitar sounded a bit out of place, too. I liked the tones of the fiddle and bass.
It's called a rendition, sit back and enjoy friend
You clearly don't understand the point of folk music.
