We've been running an SG-40 for about a year now. I would have LOVED to have gotten one with a remote and a NR cutting wheel. There is defiantly a learning curve and it can be very jumpy. We've found any type of movement other than when the cutting wheel is engaged is much more controllable and less jumpy when the throttle is turned down. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the machine Jeff!

      I agree. It’s a little ripper though!!

I demoed one of these and actually felt it was not good enough to justify buying- but then again I already had a 35hp rayco machine.

I don’t love it. At all. However, it’s the only 29” machine in the business. That is the ONLY reason I bought it

Can you tell me what functions you can control from the remote? Emergency kill, start, etc... I have one being installed now and want to make sure I have control of everything possible. Thanks!

No stop or start. No wheel engagement. Just travel, sweep, boom up/down, and sweep/travel speed

I demoed an sg40 before I bought my Rayco rg55 and it was ok… I’m not a big fan of Kohler engines and on the first stump it had problems, ran like crap spit and sputtering. Took it back to the dealer they changed an O2 sensor and I got it back the next day. Ran great but the belts kept getting hot and slipping no matter how small of a bite I tried to take and with the speed of the hydraulics on the bandit it’s hard to take a small bite or drive it through a tight opening, kinda jumpy!

I’m figuring it out a bit. Definitely have to pay attention to what you’re doing

Turn the swing speed down and it will much easier to control

@larrymcbain8444 that is all the way down. I turn it to lowest setting every time I grind. It’s too reckless and jerky to run it anywhere but there

So, the remote for the SG-40 cost an additional 9k on top of the machines price ? Thanks

It seems like it cuts really well. If only there was a way to slow the movements down some.

Proportional remote. It’s mostly my fault for being jumpy. I’m getting better

There's a way to turn the head speed down . There's a knob underneath the controls that turns the hydraulics down. For big stumps I turn it down,it moves the head slower and you can take bigger chunks out without bogging the machine down and the head skidding around.

Can I asked what you paid for the remote I own a sg75 bought it January 2021 and on my remote I have a small rip in the boot that controls cutting wheel up & down and the left track well I got debris in there now wheel doesn't want to go down and have hard time driving straight. I have to mess with knob to get it to do what I want l9ng story short it would take roughly 6 weeks to ship to bandit to have them repair it or I could use the teather which isn't going to work for me so I boughta new remote and had to get Receiver cost $4,600 not cheap I take such good care of my equipment so that's like a kick in the balls. So hopefully it will be hear Tuesday or Wednesday then ill ship other to get repaired then have 2
One other thing I needed a new battery for my remote and like a jackass I didn't take apart remote to see what battery looked like well lesson learned bandit charged me $84 for the battery when it came I took back off of remote alls it was 5 AA batteries I almost shit then to top it off bandits only sent me 2 batteries when it takes 5 told them take this shit back I went target and got 2 sets of 4 AA batteries for $40 funny part bandit sent me 2 batteries for $84 so I would of had too buy 2 more sets of batteries from them costing $252 for 6 batteries freakin crazy don't know what bandit is thinking trying to rip off reliable customer bought a 2018 2550 bandit grinder new. But other then that I love the sg75 best investment I made in long time

The remote for the sg40 is a scanreco proportional remote that cost me about 9k. Sucks when the remote goes down. That’s a stop work situation and go home til it’s fixed ha. Vermeer charges about 100 for their battery pack. It’s 3 AA that are harnessed together. I went to a local battery store and had them make it for $20
