I think that this is the only episode of any TV show that I have ever watched that has made me emotional. I have it on DVD and I get teary every time I see it.
The whole story with rick was one of the best in Degrassi history. It just shows how one act of stupid humiliation against another person can push them over the edge.
It's really saddening that this really does happen in life. This why I watch this show. It shows what can really happen in high school but in a more dramatic way. Even though it's dramatic, it puts things into perspective and gets the message through
You know what, Degrassi is probably one of the most realistic shows you'll see on TV (well the earlier degrassi, anyway) because instead of the ridiculous perception of highschool teen life on TV, Degrassi portrays real problems in teens, not that it's every teen's problems, but it shows what some teens go throuh, and I don't know any other show that does that
I feel sorry for Rick, why is it that Craig could get forgiven but not rick. Craig did alot worse stuff than what Rick did, yet they don't treat Craig the same way. Rick on the other hand, made a mistake by putting Terri into a coma, and he has paid for it, for one he seeing therapy on a constant basis. He does not deserve this sort of bullying on regular basis, he really doesn't, everybody makes mistakes, why can't they just forgive him for it, rather than embarrasing him over national television, I am not saying they deserve to get shot, but they could of just left him alone.
El Roberto Duran if I remember correctly Craig was on every one's good side first. Rick was not. Craig also made an effort to change instead of running away. Rick never handled his confrontations as well as Craig and therefore was not liked. the writers really hit the nail on the head with teens sticking with their friends when Rick came into the picture.
Out of all the videos posted on youtube about this shooting, I have to say this one was the longest and it included the entire story. This is amazing. But at the part where JImmy gets shot, the song hide and seek by Imogene heap would've fit perfect. But still GOOD JOB ON THE VID. =D

Apparently he was being chased by a group of boys while travelling home from school and was struck by a car while trying to escape from them. He unfortunately died of his injuries two days later.
You're the lucky one, I had been bullied for 3 years in till (she wasn't my friend back then, we just knew each other) my friend stood up for me and allow them to pick on her again. Also they stopped because half of them after I got into fights in school believed I was crazy and the other half started to want to get along with me
i kinda hated the fact that everyone over picked on rick especially how everything happen when it end its like rick was so hated no one gave much crap after his death

And even if they didn't like him or forgive them they could have just let him be instead of making his life hell. As much as he hurt Terri I don't think even she would have wanted that. They should have just let him alone.

Overall the video is really good. But it leaves out a bunch of things. Rick was abusive, thats why everyone hated him. Spinner(The one crying) and Jay(Hat) were the reason Jimmy was shot, they lied in earshot of Rick saying Jimmy set up the paint. Spinner later confesses and is expelled. He is shunned thoughout Season 5 by his friends but Jimmy forgives him in Season 7 when they both graduate together(Jimmy had to repeat his grade because of his therapy). Funny enough Spinner marries Emma lol
OK so my inner child is coming out to say that he deserved it all. he was an abuser in his relationship with Terry and he even pushed her and she went into a coma. his character deserved it all. he was a really horrible person.

And Jimmy was a jerk to Rick because of this, what he did to Terri and along with everyone else, completely ostracized him and made his life at school hell. And Rick couldn't take it anymore, the paint and feathers was the last straw (he thought Jimmy was responsible for it) so he snapped and shot Jimmy.
