This is an arrangement by Jerry Snyder for guitar and flute. If you'd like to buy the score, please see the description box for an Amazon link. If you'd like to play it with guitar and cello as we have done, just transpose the flute part one or two octaves down. Thanks for your interest and have fun with it!
Both of you are enchanting, an immeasurable thanks. I think the flute would not be quite as magical as is your cello is for this particular piece. Btw, I would love to get the guitar part in tab, as I don't read std. notation.
yours is the most wonderful interpretation I've never heard of this piece beautiful, light , spiritual and really difficult to understand...... thank you
When I hear this song I can't help think of a middle aged man staring off into the sunset watching the ocean from his house. He's sad because he lost something long ago, and he's seen things that he can never forget, and he's done things he can never forgive. But then his wife comes up behind him hugging him close, and his daughter and son follow along and hug his legs. And they look at the horizon together at peace.
If you knew the song that this is the tune for you'd realise it's the polar opposite. It's about two ex lovers who'd long ago fell out and are each trying to get one over the other
I love how you two play together ... the combination works so well, with deep dramatic cello sounds against melodic guitar ... you make the perfect tag team! You bring new light to this well-known piece - your interpretation is both bold and sensitive. Fantastic!
I have listened to this music a lot of times! Every time I listen, this music touches my heart and soul. What a lovely performance. Big thank you, love and respect from a small guy sitting in a remote village in India!
Both of you will not understand the immense soul-sweetness I feel again and again as I listen to you. Love just the way the guitar ushered in the cello. Bravo! Many thanks.
@@bogdanbuda8118 it's not exactly 'their' music, pal... it's traditional... I was born and brought up in Scarborough but had to move away to find work. I have traveled widely in Europe and seen some of the United States but Scarborough has a natural beauty which few places can match. This was originally a traditional song before Simon and Garfunkel got to work and Bob Dylan beat them to it by using it as the base for his 'North Country Fair'. It is a beautiful song anyway and is played with skill and emotion by these 2 young women. I can hear the waves crashing and the seagulls calling thanks to these two. Many thanks for your playing Anna and Rosalind.
Guitar is (absolutely) wonderful also but I can't get over the sound of that cello. It is very, very nice. I used to play the cello, so, often disappointed with how they're used, but not this time. This is how a cello should be played & recorded. Beautiful rendition of Scarborough Fair :-)
The expression on Ms. Beall's face at 1:52 is so telling. revealing the humble acknowledgement that music flows through us (as musicians) not from us. Beautiful.
I know why this arrangement is so appealing to me - I'm a big fan of Jeff Lynne's Electric Light Orchestra and he combines cello and guitar(s) in almost all of his works. But this duo transcends all others - just wonderful!
George Reynolds - good point. The pairing of these two instruments is what grabbed my attention right away, the range and tonality of each just sounds so perfect together. Of course the arrangements and musicianship are terrific as well.
I love how you played this song. I heard much of arrangements, but this one is my favorite. It feels like a fairy-tale by fireplace, but at middle of beautiful fantasy journey. I have too many words to say how beautiful this is. Just masterpiece
This has literally just blown me away. This arrangement is just so beautiful, like honey on warm toast, like a shot of warmth on a freezing winters day. A truly stunning collaboration that is very possibly, the finest that I have ever heard.
Not only is the interpretation nice - the guitar is somewhat different from how Paul Simon does it and yet she includes some of the Canticle melody from the Simon and Garfunkel recording - but the sound of the guitar is just gorgeous.
Wow that cello tone just destroyed all in it's wake! I'm a guitar player and that was wonderful guitar playing.... But once the cello started... We knew who's the star was! I can't believe I never really noticed cello before... My father played and plays double bass.... My first-ever instrument was the violin at age 7... My best friend who I like guitar with, later and about 12... His sister play the cello.. I don't know why I never locked on to it. Because hearing it here.. I am just transfixed by it's mournful tone Not winery like a violin Mournful with some depth resonance... Without dropping all the way to baseline stuff.. Beautiful. 👏
Excellent performance. The cello always gives us a somber and saddened feeling in a song. The classical guitar is such a wonderful instrument and well played here I might add, that both of them together really moves you. Wonderful performance.
This is just a true joy. Balsam for the ears and for the heart. Beautiful. I love how wonderfully the cello moves along with the movement of the body of the musician...almost like the instrument and the musician where one.
Exquisite...........You both compliment each other, your two instruments flow seamlessly as if they were just one. A sheer pleasure to listen to. Thank you both .
What a talented and awesome couple, each one of them performing a unique balanced combination of sounds that touches the heart ,the guitar and the chelo masterfully blended together refreshed not only your hearing but also your soul! What a great players these two amazing ladies!
It has been a very long time since a classical guitar piece has helped me calm and relax so incredibly well. Truly fantastic job both of you, thank you for sharing that performance with us, cheers from a fellow Classical Guitarist.

La de la guitarra es hermosa 😍😍😍❤️
yours is the most wonderful interpretation I've never heard of this piece beautiful, light , spiritual and really difficult to understand......

Funny looking flute
Wow... I think that's the perfect way to sit and hold a guitar. Most comfortable.
This is so moving.
It makes me want to cry for something I haven't lost yet.
and me brother
And at the same time makes me happy for something I longing for that I haven't found yet...
It makes me homesick for a place I've never been to.
What an inspiring statement! Isn't it something how music can do that to you?
For God's sake pull yourself together, Mike!

Are you talking about me?
You were told that the brown acid wasn't specifically too good. But you wouldn't listen, would you?
That's beautiful. Write the song!

Aye honestly I wish one day to be that man in your story. I know don't deserve peace but I do wish for it. Your story made me smile thank you.
When I hear Scarborough Fair, the instrument I have always associated with it is the cello. I’ve finally found it, thank you :)
Kat The Neeko ... Agree 👍🏼
us the weebs associate this to Chtholly, rest in peace Chtholly
You should listen to Árstíðir’s (Icelandic group) arrangement of Scarborough fair! There is a cello in it too!
Everything is better on a cello
Yes!!!! @@DrVaticinator
Here's 70 years old saying hats off to tip-top ladies! Love to hear you play!
Acoustic Guitar and Cello were born as long lost soul-mates that eventually found one another. Man, so good.
That's a classical guitar
@@wackapoodle7164 Still accoustic.
This is one of the most beautiful renditions of Scarborough Fair I’ve ever heard. Thank you for doing it.
The music the two of you make together is a blessing to mind and soul.

Assolutamente fantastiche..... mi sono commosso ed alla mia età non accade spesso. Grazie per il momento magico che mi avete regalato.

Well said, the guitar did indeed "usher" in the cello....

way cool first time i gotstoned they were playing Dont bring me Down
My point of view: You can really see how Anna Comellas visualizes the music in her head. My brain can't do that. Full of respect for both artists.
I could see their hearts through their hands and eyes.. this performance is a spontaneous humanity
I love how you played this song. I heard much of arrangements, but this one is my favorite. It feels like a fairy-tale by fireplace, but at middle of beautiful fantasy journey. I have too many words to say how beautiful this is. Just masterpiece

I could listen to this over, and over, and over again ....so incredibly soothing - thank you!
Softly hypnotizing beautiful melody, hope to see more.

I love listening to different interpretations of this 300-400 year old folk song, but guitar and cello is one of the best combos I've heard
I'm also a Black Metal fan who likes Folk and other genres of Music :)

This is a beautiful arrangement. I like the key change at 1:24 where it changes from the original key of A minor to E minor.
I like that too, it adds a lot of interest to the arrangement. I also like the short intro which is then repeated in Em.
