"I forgot my words!"
Ricky: " YEEEAAAH clap clap"
best part
I feel like I should be polishing my armour and sword for the battle to come lol so medieval like ;D
Hahahaha
XD
damn, funny as hell
This song uses the Dorian scale. A musical scale used in the old ages. I am not surprised of what you said...
lol
Fuck man, she looks like a 60s model. Gorgeous face, gorgeous voice.
Ikr she has that classic beauty about her
+Maya Magination I know! She's got that Sissy Spacek / Joni Mitchell vibe to her.
+acemachine26 Sissy Spacek is exactly what I was thinking! It's a haunting sort of beauty and it becomes most apparent when she smiles. :) This was a bit like Carrie's special power wasn't Telekinesis, but singing, and it's just as powerful (yet peaceful of course^^).
Truedacity right there. \m/
He reminds me of those hippie/psychedelic girls of 60's .....
2022 and I'm still in love with her voice

I always come back to this just to hear her sing the “without no seems nor needle work” line because it gives me chills every time
dude same
Her stage name is now 'Vera Blue'. Her songs are amazing...
thank you captain!
"Settle" is my favourite
Thanks!
what was wrong with "Celia Pavey"? ....wtf
+octap79 Her new songs are a very different style, so the new stage name is to differentiate from her more folk stuff
This is what you hear when you go to heaven
Ximena Cerezo yeah exactly
she's a god damn heaven 'tho..
Ximena Cerezo she's better
naw, dawg, you aint in heaven, you just in a renaissance faire.
YangSunWoo lmao 😂
I heard this song the day after I was diagnosed with cancer. It made my mind up to fight! Brought tears to my eyes and helped me release. An angles voice! Thank you!
Espero de corazón que a día de hoy puedas gozar de mucha salud 🖤
How are you doing these days?
i hope you are okey nowadays.. 🧿💖
thinking of you
I hope you're ok know✊
Love that this song is about my hometown Scarborough in Yorkshire. Most people have never heard of it, but many all over the world have heard this song.
She should sing for the new Game Of Thrones season
OH MY GOD. THAT WOULD BE PERFECT!
Best suggestion I've read so far!!!
+Martina Bortoni Yes Ma'am. That would be ideal.
Martina Bortoni Great idea!!
Martina Bortoni
NAILED!
She forgot her words. I forgot everything.
Perfect summary.
Beautiful voice
The look in Seals eyes when he turns around…I felt that. That voice and then you turn around and she looks like a fairy from the woods. Or an elven woman.
I wish she would have kept singing like this, we need this kind of old folk in 2024
Her voice is the term 'Hauntingly Beautiful' defined.
Francis Calvin I was about to say the exact same thing.
Also check out asgeir cover of heart shaped box
some credit to the song as well.
the way she sings "mine" DEAAD
Totally agree.
same
Nice to see a 400+ year folk song from my old country of England still being covered :)
y’all don’t know how many times I’ve watched this
after listening to every version of this song that I could find, there wasn't one other person who sang it like this. she seems confused by the strong reactions to her interpretation. maybe she doesn't realize how good, and memorable those little changes really are. it seems that after some "coaching" her voice actually lost a little something. nothing else she sang shines quite as brightly as this one.
I agree I loved the like....shakiness? (idk) Of her voice and the pitch she has here and how clear it is and she doesn't sound the same as before
I wish she would do a studio version of this.
+Thana Ansari She did.
+ohbabycat She released an EP last August under her new project 'Vera Blue' and it is incredible. Especially the song Hold. Should check it out before you write her off. I think she in for a big year this year!! Fingers crossed she preforms at Splendour In The Grass would love to see her live!!
Exactly !! It's my favorite song ...
could be hearing her voice my whole life
Sensual*
She sang this really well, and her nerves gave her in unintended vibrato that only made her sound better. Still one of my absolute favourite auditions
"Scarborough Fair" is a heavenly song created 700 years ago and the true author is still unknown, someone gifted by God. I don't know why I'm thinking of Game of Thrones while listening to it😂
sure does have that medieval feel to it don't it. Lord of the rings or Braveheart .Something with a castle and an actual fair involved lol.
@@gottawonder9091The lyrics are about an actual fair that existed in Yorkshire,England as far back as 1253!
for some weird reasons tears come out of my face when i hear this .. i dont even know why. its not sad.. her voice just touches me like literally no other
I completely understand you, same thing :)
***** Tears and goose bumps
***** Me too, her voice is angelic! There's no high pitch, no high skill, even no strong emotion.
Totally
***** Same here, even though she messes up I keep listening to it, gives me goose bumps every time. perfect voice for this song!!
My god! ... my heart is bleeding while I am listening to her voice!
wtf? dude close youtube! close it now!!
omg are you still alive? :o
Rhix xD LMFAO
Rhix Still breathing, just to keep playing her song with such angel voice man! ;)
is it so bad?
Alexander Dimitrov its so painfully beautiful man!!
her voice is liquid gold
First heard this version a few days ago and I was literally transported back in time to medieval England. Ethereal and hauntingly beautiful. What a rare gift ❤
Holy fucking crap. Holy. Fucking. Crap. That has to be one of the most unique, beautiful and talented voices I've ever heard. Just stumbled upon this and almost lost my mind.
That's why gingers are the most beautiful, rare things on Earth. Look up Janet Devlin and Connor Scott
The Anti-Theist Yes, I've heard both of those, they have stunning voices as well. Maybe those red streaks of hair have some magical fairydust in them haha;) They really are unique, insane talents all three.
Smulegule Indeed! :) haha
that 0:07 is the type of face you have when you have a flashback of your childhood.
+David Colmenero and it was amzaing face i liked it
This is the kind of music everyone should listen to, even from time to time. It's so hauntingly beautiful, especially in her rendition.
This girl makes my soul crying. It's an angel voice... like a flame arrow threw straight to my heart.
Her short variations are so lovely!
0:42 cambric 'shirt'
0:56 'needle' work
1:22 an acre of 'land'
Just beautiful
I don't disagree with you that it's beautiful, but those are the original lyrics? Maybe you know a cover of it?
@@totalweirdo8538 probably meant the variation in the vocals. She added more vibrato I think
Those grace notes are soooooo pretty, typically, grace notes are something you do off the cuff, but sometimes they're written in music (most typically for instrumental music rather than choral). Her grace notes here are absolutely wonderful
@@totalweirdo8538 when she no needle work its nor fine needle workk but I see how she shorten it so it's pretty
I think cause Australian accent
I forgot my words and Ricky goes YEAAAHHH! :D
😂😂ikr what did he mean??
He was happy she took it in a good way ..smiled and laughed and didn’t freeze
Here in 2024 and this audition still amazes me
I am honest to God not joking when I say this stunning audition and the introduction to this beautiful song many years ago shifted my life. I still come back to it every few months
Me too, babe!
she make ricky martin straight

Her voice is hauntingly beautiful.
2023 and I still come back to this song. I love it so much.
I've lost count of how many times I've been out here to watch this video. This is the best cover of Scarborough Fair I've ever heard; it's like her voice was just made for that song. Absolutely *gorgeous*!
She stepped right out of Woodstock! She's beautiful!!!! Angel of music
+Michael Torres or Celtic Stock :)
+Michael Torres Kinda like the girl from The Mamas and The Papas, only she can sing! lol
Michael Torres Endless gratitude to Simon & Garfunkle for the most memorable song
The folk rock women of the sixties man!
@@lcdguitar9783 hope you ain't dissing mama cass here!!!
Katniss is that you?!?! and the song and the way she sang it is perfect for The Hunger Games :D anyone agree?
She should sing "The Hanging Tree")✌🏻️
Ольга Бесаева ooooh yeah that would be amazing :D
+Lovely Lenga It would be perfect !!!
But Scarborough Fair is a classic English song, and the Hunger Games is based in North America...
+Lovely Lenga no if you see the lyrics you'll see that it's not.
9 anos depois e eu ainda volto nesse vídeo... Nunca vou superar essa voz!
Não está sozinha. Gosta da energia desse vídeo.
Tem brasileiro pra todos os cantos...
Eu amo essa vox
2023 e aqui estou...
She goes by Vera Blue these days. Magical voice...❤
She was absolutely amazing
Celia Pavey is an angel sent from heaven.
She is got this celtic touch, *wonderful*
1:38 possibly the most beautiful second I've ever heard.
+Richard Dortch 1:25 to 1:33 my favorite. THAT VIBRATO there OMG..
+Richard Dortch also 1:18 to 1:24, dear Lord!!
Why not Dean are YOU deaf?
This song is incredibile and Celia song like an Angel. I cry every time. The variation on "... and the sea strands..." is impossibile...
even she lost the words, everyone was still charmed and hypnotized by her ton and her comeback was even more stunning WOW
She is so sweet, it brings a smile to your face

Stinger
This gave me the chills, this song is gorgeous and she delivered it beautifully
ik lol the chills
this has been living in my head for the whole 10 years.. what a soothing voice
One of the very best on a talent show ever. Her vocal is ridiculous
I don't know how she did it but this girl brought me to tears
Same here, 15 seconds in and I started crying...
Same here
Christina I SAME!!!
Super beautiful. They probably should have used her instead of Ed Sheeran for The Hobbit (I say this because her singing reminds me of the Middle Earth, and that is a huge compliment coming for me)
Yes
***** Ned... I miss you :'( Being played by Sean Bean was probably a fair warning of what was coming, tho.
David Del Pozo Filíu I miss you too
กูด ไพเราะมาด
you sir are right, her voice reminds me of medieval times :)
i feel like i just left a tavern with all my gear to kill a monster or something XD
Back again to this audition. after years. I have not even heard the original song all these times because I listen to this.
She is so natural. i love the way she is singing. ❤
I'm crying.
me too
I'm taking a shit
I'm seeing things, not nice things
a vai pro inferno
At 1.40-1.42 when she hits that beautiful high note you see her eyes look possessed for a a second like she tapping into something outside her voice. Then the look she gives after like “what was that I just felt”.
It's been almost 7 years since this gave me chills, and it still has yet to fail to, every time.
I'm into hardcore funeral doom black metal but this made me cry.
Same
Vishnu Sharma same..

Bless her, she's so nervous! Also so very cute, she needs all the cookies! Well, a lot of them at least. Beautiful!
She is so good I still come back to watch
No matter how many times I listen to this, it never bores me ... I even mimick everything she does in this video while watching 😁😁 ... That's how deep it is
Maaan, that girl is perfect. I'm totally in love
same here
I could watch this a thousand times in a row. Man, something about that voice is flawless
Everytime I hear that, omg, my heart flies to him.
Γιατί δεν είσαι εδώ;;;
This woman reminds me of a fairy. I can literally imagine her voice just echoing in a forest covered in fog. It has that hauntingly beautiful mystical quality to it that just draws people. I swear, that one guy looked entranced for a couple of minutes. I know I was. This is one of my favorite songs of all time. Its just...there's no actual words in the English language to describe how beautiful I think this song is. She nailed it and more.
❤️ her voice when she sings " parsley sage rosemary and thyme" 😍😍
Voice of an Angel 😍
+Chuck Norris Sorry when I wrote my comment I also put voice is like an Angel singing..
Have u seen an angel singing? :-?

Are you going to Scarborough Fair?
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
Remember me to one who lives there
He once was a true love of mine
Tell him to make me a cambric shirt
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
Without no seams nor needle work
Then he'll be a true love of mine
Tell him to find me an acre of land
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
Between salt water and the sea strands
Then he'll be a true love of mine
Are you going to Scarborough Fair?
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
Remember me to one who lives there
He once was a true love of mine
Compositor: Jörgen Elofsson
Who cares about the combination of words, voice is unforgetable, Im always start crying while hearing this song
Jörgen Elofsson was not the composer. That is a modern Swedish composer who was 6 years old when Simon and Garfunkel recorded this version, although it is not known who originally composed the song as it was passed down from the middle ages as an old English folk song.
like a siren so hypnotic and so cute when she lost her spot you know what they say the show must go on
Soooo glad I came across this!!!
WOW. I need to find a full version of her singing the whole song! Her voice is pure magic.
I have never heard a voice like this before wow
god that hurt so good i cried.
Years later and i still get goosebumps...
I'm still in awe with this performance, she's something else
