- I am a Genshin player and have played a bit of Honkai Star Rail - this is my first time reacting to all the Honkai Impact 3rd Animations!

There is another Elysiam Realm Introduction for chapter 3 (before Because of You), and there's also the Moon's Origin and Finality (After Because of You), Part 1.5 teaser (After Graduation Trip) and Part 2.0 teaser (I think it's the last thing for the list).

For a bit of context, Hoyo really likes using expy's (or exported characters) especially ones from Honkai Impact 3rd. Raiden Ei and Yae Miko in genshin are expy's of Raiden Mei and Yae Sakura from HI3. They're somewhat similar characters but exist entirely as their own identity. Star Rail's Himeko and HI3's Murata Himeko is a similar case as well. The only exeception that I know of is Welt in Star Rail, I think its confirmed that the Welt we know in Star Rail is the Welt that existed in HI3's story as well.

It's confirmed that Welt in HSR is Welt from HI3rd, both from his splash art (the fragments closest to the bottom right of the art show the faces of Welt Joyce, who gave him his name and powers as the Herrscher of Reason, and Tesla/Einstein, the two most well known members of Anti-Entropy which he was part of as leader. His design is the same as the one used in A Post Honkai Odyssey, which also confirms it again.

Himeko’s death here is what turned Star Rail from a fun time to, as soon as I saw her, the reason I first shed tears in Star Rail.

Any character you see in Honkai Impact, can be essentially deemed as the "original" character. As such, similar characters you find in Genshin or Star Rail are design-exported from here. For the sake of simplicity, consider them as alternative existences. The only canonical existence whom we understand to be the same person, is currently Welt Yang himself.

many of these "original" characters actually originate in GGZ houkai gakuen 2 kiana, mei, selle, bronya, himeko, theresa, otto, sirin, cocolia, etc

Many of these cutscenes are multiple chapters apart, so there will some confusion and disconnect at time because story and dialogue continues on outside of them.

Honkai Impact 3rd story is the best story no one knows about. Chapter IX is just the tip of the iceberg. It gets so much better from there. Elysian Realm has some of the best writing I ever witnesed and the guy in charge of that is also in charge of HSR Penacony. Genshin only players think Sumeru and Fontaine is peak story telling but beyond that fake sky there`s a whole universe of incredible stories.
15:58 "No Himeko in Genshin" I don't play Genshin BUT I've heard that the family of the fire archon (?) Is surnamed Murata which is Himeko's last name in HI3. Also shards of Himeko's broken sword are in Herta's collection. I played star rail for 2wks. Great reaction! Can wait for part 2!

@@UmisaiDiluc is also possibly from the same clan, and im inclined to believe it as he has the same combo and skill (though not ultimate) as one of Himeko’s battlesuits as well as the iconic red hair that her family is known for
@@damiansaturday6788 No his last name is Ragnvinder not Murata so no he's not apart of the clan because if he was he'd be dark skinned not light, besides it literally says "Diluc Ragnvinder was born into the Ragnvinder clan, an ancient & noble family *Based* in Mondstadt" so no he's not from Natlan at all

A. Last names are not a perfect proof otherwise, especially in genshin. Jean Gunhildr and Barbara Pegg are the best examples of that.
2. There were Muratans who were based in mondstat when it was founded, the tie in comic centering around venti and vanessa shows this. It is not far fetched to believe that some of those married into the Ragnvindr clan in post Barbatos Mondstat,
Red hair, especially the shade that Himeko and Diluc have, is very rare in teyvat. In fact the only redheads i know of are Diluc, Diluc’s dad, Vanessa, and the Muratans, so it is not far fetched to believe they could be related, albeit distantly

6:05 This isn't even her strongest form. This is her base Herrscher form, which is already powerful enough to surface wipe the planet. Also, there is a Herrscher (god) possesing Kiana named Sirin, the Herrscher of the Void. She has the same JP voice actress that plays the Unknown God in the beginning of Genshin btw. When Sirin takes over, Kiana's eyes change to yellow. When Kiana is in control, her eyes are blue. Kiana's strongest form is literally a nigh omnipotent God that can erase things with a thought and create and destroy what are called bubble universes. You haven't seen anything yet. Also, the canonical reason that Welt from Honkai Impact 3rd traveled into the Honkai Star Rail universe is to protect that universe's version of Himeko because he feels that he failed this version of her. There is an entire manga about it called Alien Space. You can also view the broken pieces of this Himeko's sword from the fight in the HSR universe. W video!

Herrscher of the Void is NOT Sirin, or at least she's as much Sirin as Kiana is. She's Sirin's hate and rage against humanity while Kiana is Sirin's desire for love and family. Calling HoV Sirin is denying Kiana her own identity like she said during their final confrontation. They are both Sirin and not Sirin. They are the continuations of her mind and soul towards two different paths.
@Barret9559 HoV IS Sirin. All that talk about them being two sides of the same coin is symbolic, not literal. It's pretty clearly stated in the game, and Honkai Chronicles videos that Sirin is the Herrscher of the Void. Kiana is her own person the same way Sirin is. The reason the comparison was made in the first place is because Kiana has Sirin's genes in her. Other than that, they are two separate individuals.
@@jakeblitzcoffie4859 No, Kiana and HoV are BOTH Sirin. They are the remnants of her sentience, one of her rage and hate for humanity, the other her desire for love and family. K-423 was BRAINDEAD until they put the Void Core in her which lead to the two different desires Sirin had as she died becoming two different minds within the body. One Kiana, the other HoV.
Like Kiana explicitly calls this out and even acknowledges that SHE IS SIRIN TOO. Neither of them are the original Sirin, but they are her mind and soul's reborn fragments.
@Barret9559 You do know that Herrscher's can survive via their cores, right? For example, HoR authority allowed the storing of minds, including Welt's. This is how he was able to rebuild his body. Sirin and Kiana are very obviously not the same person. Again, Kiana being called another Sirin is symbolic. She is not the original Sirin. You could view her as a clone of Sirin since she has her dna, but she isn't Sirin. If what you're saying is true, it would be more like an alternative personality. But that's not the case at all. You're not meant to take the narrator saying Kiana is the other possibility born from Sirin's desire for love literally. It's symbolic. Kiana having Sirin's authority doesn't make her Sirin. What's in the Void core is Sirin's sentience, not left over emotions. Maybe you're getting confused because after Sirin ascended, she left her mortal name behind. After becoming a Herrscher, she only went by HoV. Either way, Sirin and Kiana aren't literally the same character. Sirin = purple hair HoV
Kiana = white hair HoV. Sirin was born before Kiana and is at least 13 years older than her by the start of Hi3. They aren't the same. Not only that, if Sirin wasn't possessing Kiana, how did Kiana get all her memories about the SE and so on? That doesn't happen through dna. It's because Sirin was reawakened through the Herrscher core after being put in Kiana. Simple as that. Idk why you're even arguing about this. 🤷
there may not be any a Himeko in Genshin, but her Full name is Himeko "Murata", and we do have reference of the Murata, the children of Natlan. so only soon-ish we will know if we will get one by v5.0.

Fun fact, there is kafka in HI3 but she is not a playable character, she's a stigmata(stigmata are something like the memories/constellations in Genshin and Starrail). And just like the other comments said, the story in HI3 is very good and it has some bits of information that connects the other hoyo games(especially Star rail since there are characters there that are directly from HI3), if you have any problems understanding just ask, im sure the veterans will aid you on understanding it. Can't wait for part 2❤👍

Now you know why so many star rail players esp ones who are veteran honkai impact players, are scared and super protective of himeko in SR, were like pls hoyoverse, dont put us through this trauma again, leave himeko alone

Now that Umisai has seen these, she can go back to the Curio display room on Herta Station that has the Traveler's Windglider. There is an item there that is special, and it has a unique interaction if you use Himeko at the time.

Welt Yang is a direct import from HI3rd to Star Rail
Most outsiders coming in to Honkai Impact (came out in 2016 and no, did not copy Genshin, which came out in 2020. I have preempt this because of the many people that I had argued with because they legit think that Genshin was the company's first game) would only take note of Himeko's death, while I take notice of children dying horribly with graphic detail.
Why yes, this game murders kids hard.

I remember someone saying they thought the animations looked dated and worse than genshin who reacted and I was like WHAT!! Irl. I've played genshin and star rail, but never HI3, and in my opinion these animations are STILL the best. That's an unbiased opinion. They've aged incredibly well.

Umi, all HI3 stands are worried, that Star Rail's Himeko will die, just like HI3's Himeko just died. Say a prayer for Himeko, so that she doesn't end up dead a 2nd time.

@@jaredjosephsongheng372 Well I love me my Himeko. But I will admit that, it is time for a "compelling" character to die in this game. However if it doesn't lead to, March 7th's potential 5* version, or Welt going berserk and getting a new relic set, then don't rush to kill her off yet. I don't mind sad or horrible things happening to fictional characters, as long as it carries consequences and it's done tastefully.

Funny that you noticed that Herrscher of the Void looks like the Unknown god of Genshin, because it's true, but you not noticed that Raiden Shogun is here too. Mei not Ei but the same Raiden. 😅
Honkai > Genshin animations
These animations are from climactic moments at the end of chapters, although _Reburn_ , the first one, is non-canon due to it losing relevance to the story. Its main purpose was to sell the game's first S-ranked battlesuit, Kiana's Moonbeam Knight (which nobody has used in a long, long time). The animations only get better over time.
Mihoyo loves making expies of characters from their previous games. Kiana is from their first game, Fly Me 2 The Moon_ , while the vast majority of characters first appeared in their second success (third game), _GunGirlZ_ . This is where Raiden Mei, Bronya Zaychik, Seele Vollerei, and Murata Himeko are all from, among others. Still more characters are from this game, _HI3_ . _HSR_ even has expies of some _Genshin_ characters. And yes, the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles is based on God Kiana.
Welt Yang is a special case, since he and another character named Void Archives traveled to _HSR_ . Void Archives is a sentient weapon who wants to destroy the Honkai anywhere they might appear, while Welt wants to protect Himeko from a force called the Sky People, who he found out are targeting this other version of Himeko.
The Honkai are a multiversal force that tests a world's worthiness for receiving the nourishing support of the Imaginary Tree, even as it wars against the Sea of Quanta, each trying to absorb the other. Unworthy worlds get pruned from the Imaginary and dropped into the Sea, where they are absorbed. The Tree then absorbs energy from the Sea and creates new worlds. Unfortunately the Honkai's tests consist of violence, usually: they can manifest natural disasters, plagues, and beasts like the ones in _Will of the Herrscher_ . It can also turn people or things into Herrschers (German for 'ruler),' beings with sovereignty over a conceptual force. For example, the Second Herrscher is the Herrscher of the Void, whom you saw. She has control over space (portal and platform creation), as well as over life and death because she has more than one Herrscher Core. When a person becomes a Herrscher, they are generally driven by the Honkai's desire to destroy humanity. But someone created room for an exception, Herrschers who can choose to fight for humanity instead. People like Welt, who used to be the second Herrscher of Reason, and still possesses a fragment of that power in _HSR_ .
If you enjoy these animations, I can also recommend the PVs (promotional videos) and concerts (there are three). But if you want some background info, you should really start with 'Introducing the Honkai-verse.' While the understanding of the Honkai has changed, the background historical and contextual information is still valid.
For me Honkai impact is the top game of Hoyoverse. It's so freaking peak, second is Star rail and Genshin is third on my list

Since I see others have covered the stuff I usually do with these sorts of reactions I will step in and give advance warning of the other non-canon animations you will find on that playlist.
'Bronya' is canon adjacent in that it appears to be inspired by one of the HI3rd manga (Azure Waters) - it can be argued it first somewhere in the main story but realistically it really doesn't. It's just a very cool showcase of the tiny badass that is Bronya.
Reburn 2 is a concept animation we got at the and of the live airing of the first Honkai Impact 3rd concert. It is also sort of the first teaser for Star Rail. As far as we know it's been rendered non-canon but depending on how HoYo decide to play thing that can actually change.

According to the manga, Star rail Himeko is the version of Himeko that didn't surrender her dream of traveling the stars and lived to fulfill her dreams

7:20 'Reburn' is a concept animation and is not canon to the story. It's basically, mihoyo seeing what an animation might look like. But THAT robot is Arahato a 'ninja' mech from an 'in world' TV series popular with children.
Arahato is a bit more than that, but no spoilers. 😅

Welt has nothing to do with the Express.
Nor his anime project. His anime project has one goal, to make the REAL Arahato concealed from public.
The Express landed on Himeko world, Himeko fixed it, and she launched it, she picked up Welt later, after Welt left the world of HI3rd.
The Reburn 2 trailer (just like the original Reburn) has nothing to do with the story, it's a concept trailer nothing more, and has 0 connection to the story of any of the games.
