Pui Chan is my grandmaster. Didn't think I'd stumble across a comment like that. I definitely agree with you. Boy, have I heard some pretty awesome stories from my sifu and sigung.
Did you guys know that your system has a lot Mok Gar in it? This is something that you might want to research. No other northern system which has moved south has so much southern influence. I love the system and Chan sifu is a great guy and teacher. Just wanted to throw a tid-bit out there.
@DopoNotte: We're not really talking about different things here, you're just kind of nitpicking my phrasing. Really, a form contains adaptable concepts if anything, and the techniques within the forms are just examples of these concepts in action. Once you understand the process behind that part of the form, you can apply to other situations.
They do. There are many Wahlum schools and teachers all over the world. I trained at the Temple myself. Now a days you will see a lot of Wahlum in Star Wars, DC, etc.
@Timex289: I agree wholeheartedly about explanations and applications, what good is a form if you can't fight with it? But I'd say you're way off base about the steroid comment. This guy is strong, flexible, and powerful. Just because he isn't pudgy or skinny like many traditional martial artists doesn't mean he's on juice, this is how martial artists should be.
the great grand master lee kwan shan who created the system combined tam tui(a muslim style) and juut sow ( mantis style) thats proabalby y they hav e this form.
@Timex289 If kung fu is done properly, you would see his opponent though he only performs solo. No need for application instruction, as it is evident in the form.
What a unique form, giving full play to the elbows for short range usage.

wah lum is mantis combined with tam tui. this is a great advanced form performed well.
This dude kills it 💪
Yes, this is exactly how it should look. Great technique, great power.
This reminds me of my master telling me that he used 8mm film to record his forms in the early 60s lol.
That was a well-executed kung fu handset...
im currently learning this style, we get to use this sweet dojo that this guy owns because my sifu takes care of his place

36th Chamber Hung Gar wah lum
This must be NH or MA?
@WarriorBoy
You do not fight with forms, you fight with the moves in the forms. Forms are put together so that you can more easily remember each move.
Hey where was this at? I think I may have been there. Just curious.
Grand opening of the Choy Lee Fut school in Fort Lauderdale
Grandmaster Pui Chan has brought on of the most remarkable and impressive systems of Northern Shaolin Kung Fu to america. Truly incredible.
Well done!
wazzup, i was talking about the place at the mansion, but ok then XP
Good stuff!
