- Often we receive many questions which is the largest military transport airplane in the world. Today we present you the top 10 largest military transport aircraft (2019). Our analysis is mainly based on payload capacity and dimensions and weight of the aircrafts and of course other specifications are also taken into consideration. Enjoy watching the video.

Wrong the Ukrainian left the Chinese people in the lurch without test data. China Avic have to ask Lockheed to sell them the wind tunnel to do their very own test. It was Lockheed that help further refine the Y9.

There are both. See Embraer site. C390 is without refilling capacity (but still multirole) and cheaper than KC 390, naturally, for customers that don’t need to pay more for this service. Countries with small territory, generally, or comercial companies, for instance.

KC390 needs US engine. All the planes listing have their own engines except that Japan.
Missing in the specs for these planes is the airstrip length requirements that is so important to their practical use. If you can't land the plane or get it off the ground, its other stats are academic!!

The few AN-22 Antei giants that are still flying have had their payloads limited to 53 Tons (age of aircraft being, no doubt, a factor). They were capable in the past of carrying 80 Tons indeed.

Two major points would be number of aircraft and range of aircraft.
You forgot the Embraer KC390, It has more capacity than the C130.
And how many were actually made and are flying, two? That's why none outside Brazil has any.No confirmed exports. That's why when embraer tried to sell it to RNZAF in my country recently New Zealand, we turned it down for C130-J30 .
Defence cheifs stated they wanted a COMBAT PROVEN military airlifted preferably with a large user support base it allies use, KC 390 is none of those. It's little more than a prototype.

They have German designed, Australian built frigates, getting UK missiles, European Radar, and sensors and defensive decoys and weapons from around the world with a Canadian CMS... They have a one of a kind AOR tanker designed by many companies and built in South Korea and using tech from around the world. They bought a vessel off Norway.
They have the European NH-90, the A-109 Helos. The army have the Canadian LAVIII, German Trucks, the European Pinzgauer and getting the Australian Bushmaster. They also have British L119, 105mm Light Gun... The Swedish Carl Gustaf M3, the German Heckler & Koch GMG
I could go on... but hopefully you get the point.
Yes, they have some US tech as well but they don't just buy from the US...
The point was the Embraer KC390 first production aircraft was delivered on 4 September 2019 only a month before this video was released... which makes it a little difficult to keep up with... (so a bit of break the video was probably months before hand...)Also it was not just about payload if you listened at the beginning of the video...

The An-225 was never meant a military airplane, its only intended purpose was to lift the Soviet space shuttle. When the latter was cancelled, the production of the 225 was stopped as well.

Don't apologize. An 124 was developed in the USSR. It was built in two factories. 17 aircraft were built in Kiev (Ukraine) and 33 aircraft were built in Ulyanovsk (Russia).

This was likely because the C-390 just entered service when this video was made, if this list was updated C-390 would be above C-130 while taking out the AN-225 (Because it was destroyed)

@@hawk20078 Yes and no, it was designed to ferry the Buran spacecraft around, which was part of the Soviet military at that time. But it never was carrying around actual military vehicles like the others listed. And after the Buran program fell apart, much like the USSR, it went into private hands and became the largest cargo plane by capacity ever and still is to this day. They're slowly finishing a second one I've heard but not many details on it yet.
A tank is weighing around 50 to 60 tons according to your previous video thus how to any of these aircraft can carry 8 or 9 tank??

**You can't accidentally deploy them and base security was pretty quick to (quietly) meet the plane on the ground after the display

No, it is not. It is worldwide used as a commercial heavy cargo lifter - that's all. If it is utilized militarily than this has to be on a rental base - just like a four star army general using a NY yellow cab. This will not make a military transport vehicle of the taxi...

Muffy yes you can purchase the aircraft for civilian use. I meant a typical civilian aircraft like airliner is built to maximize fuel economy, military aircraft was built to maximize performance (fuel saving is not its primary category)
