Besides, in the platforming sections you can still fail and will be put back a bit, same as many other platformers where you do 'die'. The only real difference is the animation that plays. It's funny because I've never heard anyone complain about not being able to die in games like Journey, which do this for mostly the same reasons as Prince of Persia. Probably because Prince of Persia is more like a traditional type of game regarding its other mechanics so people expected a dying mechanic to be there.
@@Jort007 There you go, you answered yourself. It's exactly because it's a "PoP" game that this criticism IS valid. We expect death if we fail too much. How is one supposed to feel anger towards his foe, if the most it can do is down you? The mechanics might be similar, but the emotions are not. It might not be fair for the game, that's true, but they dug their own hole for changing what made Prince of Persia - Prince of Persia. So let's just stick to your average POP player from the early 2000s - ok?
@@Dkmasteris There are no rules for what a game under the name of 'Prince of Persia' should be, developers can do what they want with the name as it's THEIR product. You being let down by the 2008 game is the result of your expectations alone. I'll give you that expecting a similar game under the same name is pretty logical, but at the same time it was pretty clearly marketed as a reboot and not a continuation of the old games. So it makes sense the game is quite different from the older ones. Same as the Tomb Raider reboot, those games are completely different from what Tomb Raider used to be, but that doesn't make them worse. I'm all for developers trying new things, Prince of Persia 2008 was actually quite an experimental game and that is to be applauded for such a big studio. But it's probably also the reason why they felt they needed to attach the Prince of Persia name to it to ensure they would get enough sales. Your criticism would only be valid if the game was a continuation of, or was aiming for a similar experience as the old PoP's. But it's not. It was a reboot and it was aiming to do new things, a new story, new characters, new world, new gameplay mechanics, just the same brand name. Criticism should be based on what a game sets out to do and how well it actually does those things (which is definitely not perfect in the case of PoP 2008), not on how it's different from other games or your own expectations. So no your criticism is not valid, it's just you being disappointed you didn't get something more like the old Prince of Persia. Which is totally fine and understandable, but not valid criticism.
Idc what people say this was actually pretty good (not good as original trilogy) but this part has its own charm. And I absolutely loved this game. It was totally a different experience

And while it's true that there a a lot of different flavoured gamers- we're talking about a singular group now, so no need to encompass them all just to satisfy your own narrative A die hard Sims player will not be playing Dark Souls now, will they?
Game where you can't die doesn't exi...
There's not a big deal in coding and designing a GAME OVER Screen though.
The Power and the bond of Friendship temporarily broke her restraint, Problem? 🤨
Its not a bug its a feature😂
Tried this game back when I was 11... I hated the fact you literally can't die if you fuck up. It kind of kills the point of even trying to fight.
Reminds me of the current state of my country "Man look at the style of our leader and look how he smiles". lol.
I beg to differ. This looks more like that girl used all of her powers to save you no matter what.
Oh Yeah? Thanks for the explanation.
This prince of persia is made by western mythological logic.(just a joke)😂
Lol. Made by stoned.
One of my best experience
U can't die in this game and that was new
But i liked this game & it's gameplay. Just thing i didn't like is this game is feels lonely while playing.
Idc what people say this was actually pretty good (not good as original trilogy) but this part has its own charm. And I absolutely loved this game. It was totally a different experience
Different, Linear, Artistic, Great OST. I don't know which feature was more powerful. Only if it didn't have that orb collection mania, I'd try it again.
Hahaha 😂😂, i just have to finish this gAme, i have finished all without it
?

This game was repetitive af. Same enemies throughout the game and only 3 or 4 bosses. Nothing memorable. Definitely the worst pop game of all time. Its not true to pop theme. The repetition of things in this legit gave me headaches.
I could never get into this game. It looks great visually but that's about it. I never liked how you can't die at all. That made it too easy and boring for me. Actually I never fully completed this game and I am Prince Of Persia fan but this game is just way too different.
Poor man's nextgen game.
u cant die in this game. Unik and memorable game
Yes.
Game devs laughing at player base mistaking their laziness as lore
Let them sleep.
Artstyle is my favourite
For a second i thought It's Assassin's creed
Both are from Ubi so...
I thought this was a great game. Lots people hate on it but I loved the design and the gameplay. Storyline was perfect.
There's nothing wrong with the design or ost but "LINEARITY"
