Starless - King Crimson (Cover)

This has been a long time coming - a cover of the progressive epic Starless, by King Crimson. For this cover, I played guitar, bass, drums, percussion, keyboard/mellotron, and featured Preston on trumpet.

Really well done, I salute you! Starless is one of my favourite songs of all time, and you played it extremely well. I make music myself and I know how much skill and practice goes into this, even on one instrument, let alone all of them, plus the whole tech and production side. Great job, very impressive!

Thank you!! This was so long ago ahhh I know I used a little big muff, and maybe a tad bit of mxr chorus. I have since switched to a Helix and don’t have any pedals now 😬

Is the patter of the guitar in the instrumental section regular? Or does one have to learn all the variations by heart? How does it work? I can't quite wrap my head around it. Great cover, and great job on the drums

Hey there! It is regular within the time signatures, but the time signatures do switch around quite a bit, making it sound irregular. I learned them all by leaving markers on the recording software of when they needed to change, and just watching. Eventually, I got it all in my head and didn't need that anymore. Thank you!

Thank you so much! Yep! I was using a little big muff back then into a quilter interblock45 as the amp. I think probably some other stuff going on but I can’t remember what was on my board at the time - I’ve since switched to a Helix
