    Great idea. I stopped using cooking sprays a couple of years ago. I hate the way the soy lecithin and other chemicals leave a gummy residue on my pots and pans. I simply pour a little oil in my pan and then I use a pastry brush to coat the pan.

    • @jhagen2669
      @jhagen2669 10 дней назад

      The gummy residue is from unsaturated oils like canola. If you grease your pans with coconut oil or lard, you won’t get that.
      Organic lard is also full of nutrients

    i don't know yet if it could work, but there are bottles that spray fine mist in the "beauty section" (bottles that usually used for transfering perfumes or face mist spray) -- maybe those could work too... thanks a lot for this.

    Pure oil would be too thick for cheap sprayer. I saw one site said add water 1:1, and another site said water to oil 1:2. Someone below even said 1:5 for a fine mist. Shake well before each use.

    You’re supposed to add water and shake well before every use. 1 part oil to 5 parts water. I just did this today and the mist is fine to 👌🏼

    • @loisgreen6931
      @loisgreen6931 4 года назад

      I saw one site said add water 1:1, and another site said water to oil 1:2. So even if it's 1:5, the point is that you have to water down the oil for a 'mist'.

    Any chemical leaching from the plastic or lead to worry about from the pump mechanism? . This is the case with the cheap Chinese made bottles. It would be best to spend $10 -$12 on a good FDA food safe Olive & vinegar spray battle that will not only be food safe, but will work better and last years.

    all i have been able to find is small ones with the finger push type of sprayer, such as is used for non-aresol hairspray. even a brand name for one owuld be helpful if it were to have one...

    Your videos fuel my strive to expand my cooking hobby so for no reason at all
    Here’s a fun little tip I have
    Tired of egg getting all over your Knuckles, what about the corner of the table or the corner of the bowl
    Tired of having to clean the very thing you used to break the egg
    Well this method here solves every problem I’ve listed (yes these are problems I actually had
    Hold the egg above the hole in the palm of your hand with the egg facing the ceiling
    Tap the exposed egg with a plastic spoon until it cracks
    Then invert it and using one hand or 2 whatever works for you separate the 2 pieces of egg shell
    If you wanna avoid pieces of egg shell getting in your batter you can also do this in a small bowl then sift around for egg shell pieces then add the eggs to your recipe
    Sorry for making this comment extra long for no reason but this was a life saver for me I wanted to share it
    Well no more

    Maybe you could set the bottle into some hot water before use? I dont think you can keep coconut oil from getting solid really. You might be better off dipping a napkin or kitchen towel into the coconut oil and wiping it around a pan before use, to get a thin layer.

    That was no "fine mist" you were getting, it was a stream, like the nozzle was opened up all the way. Can't say I trust what you are saying in this video. Even if person bought a better quality sprayer designed for heavier oils it STILL works out far less expensive than a dollar store sprayer that will probably disappoint. They've been around for years, and they work wonderfully.
