That is NOT a fine mist.....
Mandy Muhl
I think he added the fine mist part after he had filmed the video and just decided to go with the footage he had
I just bought a mist sprayer on e bay...and that is what i said to them...it doesnt spay as advertised...but i cant get my money back.
Bough one from Amazon it’s glass bottle it sprays fine mist
...but yet it is better than the expensive oil spray bottle I got from Amazon.
He almost had me up until it sprayed a hard jet, not a fine mist. But regardless, make sure the bottle you use, if plastic, is BPA free. That is important.
Such a simple tip, but SO insanely helpful! Thanks a lot!
Excellent! Why did I not think of this? I am getting a bottle right away! Those spray cans cost way too much and this is such a great way to save money.
Great idea. I stopped using cooking sprays a couple of years ago. I hate the way the soy lecithin and other chemicals leave a gummy residue on my pots and pans. I simply pour a little oil in my pan and then I use a pastry brush to coat the pan.
The gummy residue is from unsaturated oils like canola. If you grease your pans with coconut oil or lard, you won’t get that.
Organic lard is also full of nutrients
i don't know yet if it could work, but there are bottles that spray fine mist in the "beauty section" (bottles that usually used for transfering perfumes or face mist spray) -- maybe those could work too... thanks a lot for this.
amazing.....that's a great help...not all supermarkets here in Saudi Arabia sells cooking spray....THANKS....
You give really great tips!
great tip, didn't know that, thanks for sharing
pressurized spray and pump spray are specially design for oils
oil is thick so you need some pressure to spread it properly
wellthi you can get spray bottles which allow a mist effect salons use it, but they are not easy to get hold of and dont hold much oil in it.
+wellthi Anything coming out of a spray can has to thinned like crazy for it to work. When painters go from spray cans to either spray guns or air brushes they never look back.
Exactly. It comes out in a stream, not a spray.
M Akhtar
Really? My spray bottles all have a mist function and they’re all from the dollar store
Then again I was wondering why they were in the same isle as the clothes hangers and curtains
They look amazing :)
great tip!! Cheers to you!
Love this tip! Hope I can find a BPA free container. Or even a small glass one..
Actually I have an Instagram. There is a link on my channel page or search on Instagram for "onepotchefshow" ;)
Pure oil would be too thick for cheap sprayer. I saw one site said add water 1:1, and another site said water to oil 1:2. Someone below even said 1:5 for a fine mist. Shake well before each use.
Oil and water don't mix tho?
I'm using it right now. But I mix with some water. I only use oil spray for cooking in the air fryer. For normal pan fry, i just use a soft sponge.
Ohhhhhhh thiiiiiissss. I should've known! What great quick tips!
Wow so simple. I cant believe ive never thought of that!
Pro tip: if it stops working at some point, it means that the pipes or the spray is clogged, so get some hot water and spray (send it thru the pipe).
Thanks, great idea!!
What a great idea!
Thank you for sharing...great idea! :)
good deal your idea was very helpful
another awesome tip Dave! :) this is why you have the best household tips on YT!!
Amazing! Thanks!
awesome idea ty dave, hugs n xx
You’re supposed to add water and shake well before every use. 1 part oil to 5 parts water. I just did this today and the mist is fine to 👌🏼
I saw one site said add water 1:1, and another site said water to oil 1:2. So even if it's 1:5, the point is that you have to water down the oil for a 'mist'.
But then, won't the oil float on top?
thanks for the tip
Shake the oil well before every use to disperse it @@gauravautodesk08
@@gauravautodesk08 Yes. Which is why you are advised to SHAKE FIRST. ;) Similar to how you would with an oil & vinegar salad dressing.
what a great idea!
hi onepotchef! i was just wondering if it's possible for you to make a video on how to make tasty homemade smores? i know smore are usually made outside and toasted over a campfire and such, but i really love to be able to eat them by myself and it's really hard to do it as i live in a dorm where obviously i could not go out as often. is there a solution for it? >
I love this frugal tip. Could you allso tell me how to make edible glitterspray and edible gel for decorating cakes?
Wonderful video. I've researched other methods of doing this and almost all of them say to mix it with water... but won't that pop up and burn you if you use it for anything else other than baking? Thoughts?
yeah, and thanks to this can, you can adjust the knob to your liking
Any chemical leaching from the plastic or lead to worry about from the pump mechanism? . This is the case with the cheap Chinese made bottles. It would be best to spend $10 -$12 on a good FDA food safe Olive & vinegar spray battle that will not only be food safe, but will work better and last years.
Can I use my old oil changes from the car to save money? Or will the oil be to thick?
Is there a way I can make this work for coconut oil? since it solidifies around just below room temp?
Very true, you'll find yourself not needing to use as much oil when you use the spray bottle ;)
Thank u chef
amazing - as simple as it is, might save me some cash!
Good idea thanks
Doesnt it clog? Its not really a mist
if you find a glass one-please let me know where? i have been looking for one that has a trigger pull like this for use with essential oil dilutions (EO's can degrade plastic and therefore shouldnt be kept in plastic containers...)
all i have been able to find is small ones with the finger push type of sprayer, such as is used for non-aresol hairspray. even a brand name for one owuld be helpful if it were to have one...
Would perfume decanters work as well? They tend to be glass so that might be a better alternative not sure tho haha
Wonder if this plastic bottle is food grade quality?
I thought the same. Wonder what chemicals leached into your oil.
Thanks for your video.
U look so kind :D
nice tip
Is there a specific kind of oil that you need to use for baking? For example when you don't want the cake to stick to the pan.
Veg oil
Thanks !!!!!!
cool .. i do the same too
This is the closest thing i've found to using motor oil in one LOL, need to undercoat my truck tomorrow was wondering if a spray bottle would spray oil. Close enough, i'm gonna try it 😁
oh i was thinking of this
what do you do when it runs out buy another on?
Do they clog up?
Nice
thanks
Is the material (plastic) that used to product this spray convenien for health? Is it cancerogenic?
mıstık *carcinogenic
ah... the simplest of things.. Y dint I think of this.. thank u sooo much.
this is brilliant! its gonna save me from dumping a litre of oil into my pan as i usually would haha :D diet - here i come!
...mind blown...!
This is so simple and handy. How come I never thought of this simple trick before? :)
I don't think that would be suitable for cooking, but feel free to spray yourself with Baby Oil if that is what makes you happy ;)
I grew up in Philadelphia and most of the hoagie shops use this method of spraying oil on the rolls. Easy peasy. :)
It sure will. Every penny counts ;)
Este hombre me hace sonreir :)
Just ran out of non stick spray. Your timing couldn't be any better! Awesome!
What about diesel oil?
Cool! Does the nozzle ever clog up?
It does! I had a special glass bottle sprayer a long time ago, and it's cloged up right away. I'm recepies mix it 1: 5 with water and shake before spraying, I'll try that, will see if it will help.
Can u make jam rock buns please. This is the recipe. 200g self raising flour 100g butter 100g sugar Jam and 1egg
i totally get you there-i actually took to placing a paper towel over my oil spout turning it over and letting a little soak the towel, and then i;d just rub the towel in the pan....
Your videos fuel my strive to expand my cooking hobby so for no reason at all
Here’s a fun little tip I have
Tired of egg getting all over your Knuckles, what about the corner of the table or the corner of the bowl
Tired of having to clean the very thing you used to break the egg
Well this method here solves every problem I’ve listed (yes these are problems I actually had
Hold the egg above the hole in the palm of your hand with the egg facing the ceiling
Tap the exposed egg with a plastic spoon until it cracks
Then invert it and using one hand or 2 whatever works for you separate the 2 pieces of egg shell
If you wanna avoid pieces of egg shell getting in your batter you can also do this in a small bowl then sift around for egg shell pieces then add the eggs to your recipe
Sorry for making this comment extra long for no reason but this was a life saver for me I wanted to share it
Well no more
Damnit I typed that “well no more” and decided I wanted to add more to that before moving on and completely forgot about it now my comment is in the wrong order
And no harmful aerosols!
OMG David, this is one of those "why didn't I think of that before" moments LoL. Thanks!
This video doesn't show how to "make" anything, it's just putting oil in a bottle.
Your so awesome :D
What about baby oil
This is freaking helpful thank you amazing
Maybe you could set the bottle into some hot water before use? I dont think you can keep coconut oil from getting solid really. You might be better off dipping a napkin or kitchen towel into the coconut oil and wiping it around a pan before use, to get a thin layer.
Hello, This is Lingtan, sell fine mist sprayer, lotion pump, trigger sprayer, treatment pump in China.Do you wana to import these products from China?
you can that with everything. Buy KY jelly in a gallon jug.
wow-you have no idea how awesome this is! I HATE the spray can oil....not only are they full of crap that isnt good for you...but they smell! I wanna puke every time i use one (so i stopped using them...i figure a reaction that strong is my body telling me something!) BUT they sure are convienient, so this is an awesome alternitive...(plus its cheaper than those "olive oil pump sprayers" that they make)...just totally awesome! thanks!
Pass - That's a stream not a mist.
You don't think it would be cheaper to buy KY jelly in a gallon jug
Where has this video been all my life?....
OMG, I'm totally gonna try it! :D
I'm from Sweden and we can't get cans of Cooking sprays everywere, and The only store I can buy it in sells it for $1
Is it me only the oil comes in straight stream 😢
You can't be a hater forever... take it from one who has tried...
Not only cheaper, but way more nature friendly,as it is not an Aerosol
That was no "fine mist" you were getting, it was a stream, like the nozzle was opened up all the way. Can't say I trust what you are saying in this video. Even if person bought a better quality sprayer designed for heavier oils it STILL works out far less expensive than a dollar store sprayer that will probably disappoint. They've been around for years, and they work wonderfully.
I recommend a sprayer bottle designed for oil, rather than a basic one. Lol.
What a good idea. Smarty pants.
Huh... you know, I was just thinking today when I was grilling chicken, "Shit, I don't have any cooking spray. I heard those refillable olive oil containers tend to clog, plus they're expensive... hmm... what if I bought a small spray bottle from the dollar section and put it in that? Would it work?" And now I know it will, lol.
does baby oil come from babies ?
Much more easier
May not be a fine just yet is propellant chemical free.
Mmmhmm, don't wanna eat propane!
I don’t think you should use the plastic
Note to self....DUUUHHH (Followed by smack to forehead)
make us a meal under 5.00 were on a $50.00 per month grocery budget it's four of us
Wow I do I feel like an idiot for not thinking about this.... thanks!
makes scene!
Clogs up
