- Bruce Springsteen - Randolph Street,
a.k.a. Master Of Electricity
London Publishing demo, recorded between Jun and Jul 1972 at the Media and 914 Sound Studios, Blauvelt, New York City.
I too lived like Bruce on Randolph St. in Freehold, NJ. He lived with his parents and grandparents. I was across the street at the same time with my parents and grandparents.
Remember the farms up on Route 79 ?
You should contact him, see if he'll give you some money :)
The old school Irish Catholic family way of living. I grew up the same way for a time. You learn a lot as a kid living in a house with multiple generations.
was it picturesque and lovely ?or as always life harder than the dream ?
@@kostaslivadas8945 What dream?
Cette chanson magnifique sublimée par cette voix écorchée……
Mon 1 er jour de l’an est sauvé
Merci Mr Bruce
Avec l’éternel nous étions 3 à dîner 🕊💙🕊
As a lifelong Bruce Springsteen fan i was astounded that i had never heard this before. The lyrics of the song reminded me of my own life growing up in a two room tenement in the late 60's and early 70's. Still moved to tears whenever i listen to this song. Beautiful, simple and heart breaking
Wow! This song is amazing, and to have NEVER heard of it before is nuts....
Quanti pomeriggi a piangere ascoltando questa canzone dopo che mio nonno volò in cielo... Una vera poesia d'amore.
How many afternoons spent cryin' listening to this song after my grandpa flew away... A real love poem.
The Poet Laureate of America
He is amazing with words
He grew up on Randolph St. in Freehold, NJ.
This with the first 50 pages of his Born to Run book, perfect match
I found the first 100 pages the best part of his book.
When you park where his Randolph street house used to stand and listen to this song
1972. Hermosos sueños, por llegar.
Che bella canzone!!😥😥💘♥️💔💔💯
Una canzone molto toccante!! La vice di Bruce si sente che e molto giovane!! ,😧😃😍😍😘😘💓💓💓💓💞💟💋,♥️♥️♥️♥️
Anybody remember a soldier boy, Ed oleksy. He was in Casper Wyoming work in a lumber yard 1975. He had the spirit of Tom's river.
@michaelwitmondt Correct me if I'm wrong, but if this was an early Springsteen demo (Backstreets magazine estimates it was recorded around '72, the time of the Hammond demos), it pre-dates Seventeen (released 1975) by a couple of years. Even if you take it from the date the song was written (the Wiki page says Seventeen was written in '73), there's still a gap there.
What was released called "Seventeen"?
Master of Electricity
@michaelwitmondt I listened to both back to back. I think it's different enough.
Springsteen’s American Pie.
Some similarities to Dylan's "I Want You" which Bruce covered in his early concers.
Dylan was inspired with this (melody) when he wrote "Simple twist of fate", I guess...
My guess is it was just a coincidence. The odds of Dylan hearing this unreleased demo were a gabillion to one.
@@pac401 Not necessary so - it is not without reason that Springsteen, in the beginning, was "labeled" a "new Dylan" (Albert Grossman once said how he was amazed while auditioning Bruce where Bruce played a "one man band" version of a "Saint in the city" - "the guy sounded like Dylan at his best" etc. etc.). No doubt Bob carefully tracked Bruce's activities (and vice versa, of course)...
What a great song. Bruce may have ripped off Janice Ian's song Seventeen but regardless; this tune brings tears to my eyes. As autobiographical as you will ever hear the boss.
Bruce wrote and recorded this song at least 3 years before Janice’s song.
sounds like this one grew up to be No Surrender.
This is NOT good
