They come together in their hate for Caroline and they compete with each other for Logan's approval. Like with parents like that I wonder if they ever had a chance 💀
They rode king lear all the way to the end. All the kids flamed out and the seeming rando ends up on the throne in the midst of the chaos. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride tho. It was also interesting to see that Connor, despite not being one of THE kids, was kinda the one who had the best relationship with logan. Or at least the most personal one
@@ForeverBrooklynNYCmade me laugh a little when he said that. Connor asked his father for 120 million and Logan was just like “yeah okay” … he might not of liked him but he definitely loved him a lot .
@@Coneyislandqueennn Giving him money doesn't mean he loved him. Paying someone to go away is the opposite of love. Especially when you have a company worth 80 billion dollars. It's like having 50k in the bank and saying to your son, I'll give you 200$ If I don't have to see you anymore and you stop fucking embarrassing me. Lol some love.
@@JordansTake35 that just shows even more love? That he was aware how embarrassing and ridiculous Connor was presenting himself, instead of disregarding it he told him. You could argue that’s just Logan protecting his reputation and image but with all the current allegations already against him I doubt this was a huge problem for him. Just a father looking out for a son.
@@Coneyislandqueennn BS, he knew his son could make it harder for the candidate he wanted to get elected. And ge did! That's why Mencken asked Connor to pull out. Logan knew nothing but self interest, he knew nothing of love
I genuinely appreciate how quick you guys were with this, you guys are seriously one of the best reaction channels out there period. It’s only a matter of time before y’all get the recognition you deserve and I’ll definitely be sticking around for whatever you guys watch next!
true! I needed 4 hours to process my disappointment and rationalise with the parts I did like with the parts I didn't like. You guys dissected it promptly
this show but especially this season has been an unforgettable experience in every possible way. my favorite show ever and it isn't close. thank you for the reactions and discussions, looking forward to the next shows you guys react to and one last time: FUCK OFF 🍻
I was Team Kendall & the kids but this is a satisfying ending. I think in the long run they all need to heal and just appreciate the good things they got from their dad like financial freedom like Connor does, he got that right.
It’s good to keep this in mind: regardless of what happens, the siblings have controlling shares worth BILLIONS of Dollars, they are fighting tooth and nail solely for the allure of power.
This! They were already disgustingly rich when the show started and are even more so were it ended, their livelihoods were never close to being in jeopardy. It's just power play and ego for them.
you're right, they're not after the money (they already have more than they could ever use) they're after the power and influence of being ceo of the largest media conglomerate in the world, the power to shape the world and drive the culture etc etc that's what they're addicted to
Everyone knows Greg can’t hold on to information. And foh on Shiv! She still has influence. No shot she becomes Caroline or Marcia, Tim ain’t built like that. They are in an awful relationship but will not separate and both will wield power.
I don't think it could've ended any other way and be satisfying. The siblings are too poisoned to be one. Shiv becomes her mother trapped in a toxic marriage with no power Kendall becomes his father but without any power to validate his actions And Roman is left on his own without any of his coping mechanisms having to learn to be himself outside of any of his abusers In better news at least my boy Colin is getting paid!!!!!!!
@SCharlesDennicon That's why I said without the power, he's still the same abusive neglectful father he just doesn't have a company of people that will allow him to do it
How is Shiv trapped in her marriage?!? Also, as far as power, there was no scenario in which she would have power in the company. This deal gave her billions of dollars, in addition to her already ample wealth. Tom the pain sponge ain't got no power over her
The scene where the kids watch Logan, Connor and the others is so sad. You can see with Logan too he actually wanted his kids to be there. I think they regretted that they went against Logan.
I don't think they regretted it. They loved him, but didn't regret it. Even Kendall told him he didn't forgive him for anything as he was dying, but he loved him. It's a complex relationship that a little home video can't completely override. It was a really great scene to show that even through everything, they still loved him.
It's not that simple man. Logan was a terrible father. That doesn't mean they didn't love him, they loved him but he made them suffer. It's a complicated relationship
Shiv tried so hard to not bet like her mother, but that's all that's left for her. The CEO’s wife, the woman whose dinners get interrupted by board meetings. I have no words to describe this show.
@@kassiogomes8498 Agreed. Shiv initially didn't know it was Tom, just that it wouldn't be her, which is why she sided with Ken & Roman, but once she knew then it made sense that she'd go with the vote, thus installing Tom and at least having a stakehold in matters. As toxic as their relationship is, by supporting him they could look to build a future together. The scene of them in the car was kind of bittersweet, but at the same time hopeful, and as ever one of the key things Shiv didn't want to be was her mother and that I think always sits with her.
@@KadayiPolokov yeah. When Shiv asked to get back together, Tom said to her: "you don't like to fail". She doesn't want a failed marriage. I see this as another way to distance herself from her mother.
@@kassiogomes8498 Yeah but if money or another company could make any of the kids happy by now those things would have. They've always been rich, they've always had chances at running something else. Shiv wanted power and approval from Logan. Now she's the wife of an employee, and Tom stands nothing to gain from her which was the basis of their relationship. Like all the kids she's back where she started, but with less power.
yall so stupid. tom is literally a puppet, he was a puppet of logan, shiv and now mattson. shiv still has the power here. tom always listened to her, not to mention he has power only thanks to her.
@@markg.7865 Does it really matter tho? He gets the position, the glamour, the money...and mainly the perception of the world of being the CEO. ...and THAT is what the sibligs have fought for 4 seasons, the ability to look like they are SOMEBODY.
@@markg.7865 Tom is actually the perfect balance to Mattson. Mattson is so chaotic and aggressive, whereas Tom is such a people-pleaser. It's like yin-yang.
@@Kunoichi4ever4 it does if you have your own vision. Mattson had one, Logan had one, maybe Kendall has one and should've pursued it instead of fighting to get this position. It really depends on what your shooting at.
So refreshing to have quality reactors like you three, giving attention to the truly great television going on out there. I know your viewership will drop a bit after this show, but the quality is there. Just stick with it, and you'll be huge. I'd recommend hitting up Severance if you 3 havent watched it yet. There's always room for improvement, definitely, but you guys already have what differentiates you from other channels, the kind of discussions you bring, they're intelligent, sensible and so entertaining. It was a great ride to watch Succession s4 with you guys, here's to watching more good stuff!
Great breakdown and conversation dudes. First video I’ve seen from you all. We witnessed here with Succession a piece of art that’s apart of the all time great caliber conversation. Looking forward to more from you guys.
Shiv was down until they got in the room and Kendall started acting over cocky in the chair....She felt like she couldn't stomach that for the next 40 years...
In the end Logan wins again. He was ready to sell. He picked his successor Mattsen. He said the kids were not serious which is why he was ready to cash out. Tom said he has never seen Logan get fucked and was smart enough to kiss enough ass to advance. I’m very happy for Tom but I think people loose sight that he is not really in charge,Mattsen is. All good with me. And I’m really glad to see Shiv be put in her place after years of dumping on Tom!
Shiv just got mommed. She is exactly like Caroline. The circle retains. Heartbroken for Ken but we all knew the writers were never going to let these terrible triumph. If anything, after Ken killed that kid, his fate in this show was doomed. He was never going to get anything.
I don't understand why people always say that. He didn't kill that kid. He was in an accident where a kid died. And the accident was caused by the passenger yanking the wheel out of his hands on a bridge. Yes he was impaired, but the accident wasn't caused by his impaired action It was caused by the kid yanking the wheel. And there's no way he could have saved them in the pitch of dark water freezing cold somehow dive down find the passenger side open the door unbuckle the kid and bring him up to shore there was no way even a lifeguard could do that. Yet people act like he pulled out a gun and murdered some kid I don't get it I'm not saying he's blameless but it's definitely not murder either
@@JordansTake35 It wasn't intentional, but it was still second-degree murder. He's a rich guy that got away with unintentionally killing someone. It's not so much the accident that was the problem, but the fact that he never paid for it.
@@johnjungkook2721 It is in no way second degree murder. It's manslaughter if anything, and even that can be argued away because the action that lead to the event wasn't perpetrated by him. If he would have been driving drunk and fell asleep at the wheel and ran someone over on the sidewalk, that's manslaughter. Yes he was driving, but the kid yanked the wheel, which caused the accident, so I don't know how it would be tried in the courts, but I know it sure as shit wouldn't be 2nd degree murder. You should Google that term and you'll see for yourself it doesn't hold up.
Shiv didn't get "mommed." She got billions of dollars in the deal. Tom is not Logan. He has no real money and no power. He's just a pain sponge, remember?
30:51 you people not understanding that tom is just an employee on a ceo sallary and shiv is now worth about 8 billion dollars is hilarious to me LOL "she's his bitch" huh? no she isn't LOL
This series has been a great reflection of modern day corporate America and politics. But in this episode I think they truly nailed the aforementioned. I praise the writers and directors lullabying me with all of the great family moments and into thinking(well for about 10 minutes) oh yeah the siblings got this. But no ....of course it wasn't going to work that way. In the end it's about what I can get, whats a better move for me,why not make this move because who really cares, theres no love to be lost? Oh I've got this horrible Ace up my sleeve and I'm going to play it. Sometimes the lust for power outweighs love. Kendall ends up knowing he will never be his father. Roman I feel like he has the same feeling but with some relief. Shiv in a loveless ,cold ,and corporate relationship but hey she can guide Tom through whatever power he has. Connor Content with whatever he can get out of being an Ambassador and Wila Greg ....well in the immortal words of Jabba the Hutt YOURE MY KIND OF SCUM....he is the kind of scum Tom admires and needs and will always do his bidding. People like Matsson do win in life and we may dislike, not care for and even hate them but it happens I will miss the characters, the back and forths . It was a pleasure.
Yo guys I loved the reaction. I know a concern of yours is that this was largly founded on succession but dont worry I and i think many others are excited to stick around. Lots of reaction channels will do 2 episodes of barry in one video because they are only a half an hour, and I think that would be awesome for you guys to do for chunkier videos with more to dicuss and also get more quickly through the show to get to things like Sopranos that a lot of us are also looking forward to (Barry is pretty great but sopranos is the goat). Super hyped I found you guys, awesome channel!
Shiv was right to go against Ken no matter what the motivation. She says she can’t stomach him. Ken flaunting himself in Logan’s chair, putting his feet up on the desk, giving best pal Stewy a promise of chairmanship - she’s right to turn. Kendal has never been able to prove himself - just like the other two never have. They don’t have what it takes. As for choosing Tom…well Shiv has always kind of done this eventually. Remember This Is Not For Tears - Logan makes the whole team choose who to kill - Tom is a candidate. Tom tells Shiv he would rather be without her. When given the choice of Ken or Tom by Logan - Shiv pleads for it not to be Tom. In this finale season - once in charge, her brothers ask her if she wants them to ‘kill’ Tom a few times. She doesn’t go along and often demurs. Facts - in their own twisted way, these two love each other. Shiv wants her marriage and future family unit in tact. She is not in debted to Tom - it’s the other way around. Her vote got him the seat. Her money pile will always be bigger than his. In all likelihood if we fast forwarded 6-12 months then Tom is probably out of a job.
This was a truly incredible show. I’m enjoying a lot of reactions now. Incredibly written and performed with almost no bad episodes. Going back and rewatching the pilot brings the whole show into perspective. From the first episode they made it clear than none of these kids should run anything. Also the first episode is incredible. I think those who thought it was slow just needed to get used to the writing.
Great job. Hope you guys keep it up the reaction videos and add more shows. I just started Barry myself. It will nice to watch that along with you guys as well.
Have enjoyed watching Succession along with you, especially as you're friends and not a group of 'randos' 😅 You turned this one round really quick, Charlie 🙌 Good luck to you all and continued success. When you hit 1K subscribers I have a question for a Q&A 😂
Most people looked down on Connor for not being associated with the company, but the truth is he realized early on that he's not cut out for it and he came to terms with it. In the end it also became everyone else's fate, by sheer force instead of choice.
Connor is probably the most well adjusted of the kids despite how goofy and ridiculous he can come across. I realised it when he decided to go through with his wedding the day Logan died.
Why would Logan be "rolling in his grave"? Mattsson was literally Logan's CHOICE to sell the company to. and Tom was the only member of the "Roy" family that Logan actually respected as a worker.
that's a great point! Although if Logan knew about the inflated numbers with GoJo maybe he would have had second thoughts? Or maybe he would still be satisfied? That's the beauty of the writing in this show. A lot of things are left up to our own interpretation.
@@redox.cinema I think Logan cared more about Mattson being a killer than whether Gojo was entirely above-board. And let's not forget how much fraud and shady numbers were happening at Waystar Royco
@@Serryy how could he salvage it if shiv changed her mind? The vote was 6-6. She would be the vote that doomed Kendall, when he tried to say the death of the waiter never happened it only cemented with shiv that she made the right choice. But even if he didn’t say that she was going to back Tom and screw over Kendall.
@@redox.cinema how could you salvage something like that ? her mind was decided already. His sister just used something he said to them in a moment of vulnerability as a reason why he shouldn't be CEO when in fact it was jealousy and that if she couldn't have something no-one from the brothers would have it ! and btw she refused more from siding with Kendall than being just Tom´s wife.
@@Benorge123 👆this right here. Shiv's decision seems like a combination of various reasons but I feel like in that moment, she was just throwing out random possible reasonings to help justify her decision (e.g. that she doesn't believe Kendall can be the CEO, the fact that Kendall killed a kid, etc) whether they are truly meaningful or not. If you rewatch the prior seasons, you can see that Shiv does this a lot. Kendal mixes info/decisions and bro-talk while always looking like he's going to break down and then Roman is always throwing out jokes. Also, Shiv and Roman didn't seem to care about Kendall killing someone when he confessed to it 1-2 seasons ago so I don't see why it's a big deal now. Shiv is upset that she's not getting to win and also thought that if Tom wins, she at least has something to hold onto whereas if Kendall won, she might've gotten pushed out again and lose everything (Tom, power/her position, status, her brothers, etc). There are many CEOs out there just like Kendall (especially in the tech industry) so Kendall succeeding as CEO is definitely a possibility even with his issues/problems. All that being said, Tom is ultimately the better stable choice at gaining the CEO title even if he's just going to be a frontman because the kids seem just seem like children fighting over something rather than actual adult leaders trying to lead a company. At least Tom has the experience, work ethic, and all that to be a CEO whereas Shiv, Roman, and Kendall feel so broken due to their toxic relationship with their dad.
People seem not to understand that this was the best outcome for Shiv. She got BILLIONS of dollars from the deal - in addition to the wealth she already had. Tom is a "pain sponge" for Matsson and can be fired at will. In what world does that scenario make Shiv subservient to Tom?? If she had voted for Kendall, she would have no power AND no money from the sale of the company. This was the best case scenario for her.
At the end of the day, Shiv just couldn’t bow down to Kendall. That’s what it comes down to, her ego and the fact that they have been in constant competition with each other since they were kids and the fact that she couldn’t bear the thought of one of her brothers being above her stopped her from bowing down. She realized she could bow down to Tom though, even though they are both just Matsson puppets now and worse she is just like her Mother who she hates was the price. They technically still have Pierce though so I’m not sure who is going to run that but they aren’t out of the media business forever they just don’t have theirs dads business. I think that’s what ultimately stops Ken from “jumping” in the water and just sitting on the bench, at the end of the day he is a fighter, he always fights no matter how much he loses and I think him choosing to sit and showing that Colin is right there with him for me shows he still has some fight in him. Roman has basically just given up because he realizes how TIRED he is, I think he fully joining Connor now on the “I’m just gonna collect my billions and sit here and do nothing” train which is good for him because if he had kept going, I honestly saw him dying at the end more than Kendall if we are being honest. Kendall telling that story about how he was groomed since he was 7 to be only this just shows you how much he DIDNT have any choice but this at the end of the day. He isn’t lying when he says he’s a cog who can only turn in one direction and that this is all he knows, which makes his actions make SO MUCH sense. TBH the one in the worst position at the end, even though it looks like Ken, it’s actually Shiv. I see Ken being able to pick himself up and doing Pierce, I see Roman being happy finally being out of it, but Shiv is now her mother and even though it feels okay now to screw over Ken, give it two weeks and she is going to HATE HERSELF!!
I hated how Ken acted when Shiv said no for many reasons, and thought he just fucked it for himself, but tbh thinking about it, it wouldn't matter how he acted. He could have been the most mature, reasonable person ever in that scene and I dont think Shiv would vote for him. She was ready to sit back and let it happen, but for her to actually vote for it- she didnt want him to win.
@@evesapple Honestly Ken acted EXACTLY how I knew he would act, think about it, he literally has been groomed to be this and only this since he was 7 and since this show started he has it repeatedly taken away from him, and once again right as he is at the finish line, one of his family members snatches it away from him. He flipped out, he shouldn’t have tried to lie to them about the waiter, that was too far but I understood everything else, especially when he attacked Roman cuz honesty in that moment Roman kind of deserved it after what he said. Also yes you are right, Shiv was never going to let him have it, she just can’t bow down to him. But in doing so, I do feel like she put herself in the worse position.
@@nyeishaclark95 Oh yes I think how he acted was classic Ken- it wasn;t a surprise to anyone who was watching. But it still made me cringe and shake my head. I agree the time it took me out was when he denied having been responsible for the kid dying, I thought that was a bit too much, but I can see him doing it if desperate and stupid enough. Which he apparently was in that moment.
The Pierce deal is NOT happening. The notion that the three of them could partner to buy Pierce after what just transpired doesn’t have any basis in the internal reality of the show, IMHO
This is the ending that everyone deserved, and the one I personally wanted. None of the siblings on the throne, someone who worked really hard for it, and a competent puppet master somewhere behind the scenes
Hard to say Tom got it from working hard. He was the most logical and conveniently located sychophant. It's alarming people look at Tom and even remotely think he got where he got on merit. Because that's how people like him are treated by everyone in the real world too. The assumption being that all advancement and accomplishment is the result of hard work. It's not. I think the show was pretty clear on exactly who Tom was and how he advanced. Never was it working hard.
@@praxton Tom took a beating every day of his life to be in this position. Unlike Kendall who would rather crash the company than sacrifice his ego. Here's what Tom understands that Kendall doesn't: hard work isn't always flashing lights and grand plans. Tom has been climbing the ladder every day of his life. He's kissing asses and showing that he's willing to show up to the workplace, unlike the siblings. Tom wasn't born into this life. He didn't marry into it either, because he would never be in this position right now if he didn't fight for it.
@@johnjungkook2721 Tom absolutely married into this position and the only reason he got CEO was because his wife voted for him instead of for her siblings, he did not earn his spot the same way Logan or Mattson did...and he knows it. Granted, some may say that kissing a$$ is in and of itself a talent and it may be true (not many men would stand his boss to openly cuck them like Mattson did talking about f*cking Shiv in this episode), but let's not kid ourselves. He has the top spot but no influence and no self-respect, which is exactly what Mattson wanted. It is what it is openly and if he likes it I love it.
@@SweetJeopardy Y'all are just pissed that Tom won, lol. If you could marry into this, why isn't fucking Rava the new CEO? Tom would never be in this position if he didn't work for it. Also, Tom has influence by the default nature of being CEO. Everyone in that building will be falling over themselves to make Tom happy. He isn't the top dog, but he's doing better than everyone - Kendall,Roman, Shiv - who thought they would be. There is value in someone who will just get the job done without trying to seize power. Hard work is more than just big ideas and "self-respect". He worked harder than everyone on the show except Logan and Mattson. He's not entirely self-made like them, but he's more self-made than everyone else.
I loved Tom since the very first episode. I always believed he won't just stay down. Thank god i was right. Words can't explain how happy I am for him. The CEO Of Waystar. Logan II. Amazing show. I liked the ending but I was sad because I for sure would have wanted to see like 1 season more, especially how Tom does his job and how the siblings do after this. Just amazing.
Shiv said no not because she was after Tom and to regain power. She knows that since the beginning she was out and it was because of that, being out with perspective, with nothing to gain or lose, that she saw Kendall would be even worse. Roman thinks that too and almost voted no because when he saw Gerry he remembered the could be the one. Shiv just said what everybody knew, Kendall could not handle and we all see the way reacts. That's why the no from Shiv was so refreshing. They are all going to be paid immensely but they will have to be on their own. Also, yes, Tom does the that power move with his hand and Shiv is not sure the relationship will work, but Tom only 'won', he was was sort of chosen because of his obedience. Matson will cut the company to the bone.
Tom won the battle with Shiv, but Tom is still not THE boss. He's the CEO of a subsidiary company that will answer to a parent company in Sweden. He will always be Lukas Matsson's lapdog. Nobody ever owned Logan - Lukas owns Tom.
That wouldn’t be awesome if you guys at the wire to your shows to watches. Each season of the Wire focuses on a different facet of the city of Baltimore; so there is partial closure each season. In chronological order they are: the illegal drug trade, the seaport system, the city government and bureaucracy, the school system, and the print news media.
While i think she WAS right in saying Kendall wouldn't be fit for CEO, ultimately it was probably the fact that Tom being CEO is the closest she's ever gonna get to the top dog position. Toms easier than Kendall for her to manipulate into doing what she wants.
I think it was a number of factors. From a more practical perspective, Shiv probably thought that if Ken remained in power, he would just push her out like he always did. With Tom, she will have more freedom of movement and possibly more influence (especially considering she's carrying his baby). But I think Shiv was also terrified of what Ken became. There's a shot of her looking at bleeding Roman. She must've guessed Ken hurt him. In addition, Ken was being more aggressive and erratic than usual, I assume she genuinely thought he would be a bad fit. Maybe, in some way, she was doing him a favour, cutting him loose from what made him like this.
@@SCharlesDennicon Ken being aggressive and erratic makes so much sense though. Since he was 7 years old Logan had been telling him he was the heir to waystar, and it was now being taken away from him. He was angry, violent, lying and desperate to keep the rug under his feet, because this is all he was. he was never a real person in logans eyes, so he was never a person to himself and all hes ever known is that he was supposed to be the heir and he was losing that because of his sister and now he has nothing.
Colin’s presence in Kendall’s last scene is haunting and perfect. Remember his intense stare down of Ken where he said “I KNOW You.” In episode 9, the show wanted you to think Ken was being clever and badass by buying Colin to his side. Now Ken gets to spend his days being shadowed by one of the few people who knows the worst thing he’s ever done (which not only resulted in a person dying but also cost Ken being CEO, which he probably cares about more let’s be honest). He’s almost literally chained to his destructive past and it’s gonna follow him like a ghost.
@1:24:44 Totally disagree! That person is talking about a moment from the S2 finale. Logan & Tom are not only basically buddies by the S3 finale, where Tom was *the instrument* for Logan (who even previously that season said "I didn't know [Tom] had it in him) ...then just review their dynamic during the first 2 episodes of S4. AND the fact that Tom was the one with him when he did. I think Logan absolutely came around to Tom. Would he have named him his successor? well, no, of course not: because really, Logan wouldn't let anyone be his successor. But I don't think, based on the evidence, that anyone can argue Logan didn't respect Tom, esp. in Logan's final days. Possibly, even in his final moments.
Connor is my favourite character. Unlike every other character in the show, not a malicious bone in his body. Absolutely LOATHED Tom from beginning to end.
@@kassiogomes8498 And? Everybody who's run third party irl recently from Ralph Nader in 2000, to Gary Johnson in 2016 to Jill Stein in 2016 to Jo Jorgensen in 2020 thought they could win.

'They're still billionaires' is such a shallow comment if you watched the whole show lol. Ken's quite literally suicidal after this. He knows no happiness
How I saw the end of the show: At the start of the show, Shiv was away from the family because she didn't want to end up as a powerless woman in a toxic marriage. Then...she dipped her toe into the pool, fell all the way in and became THAT which she never wanted to be: her mother; trapped in a loveless marriage with the all powerful CEO Roman, in my opinion, got the best end out of the main three siblings. Logan and Waystar was Roman's abuse in childhood and adulthood. Now they sold and he is free from all of that. He realises that his father was right, they're not serious people and he accepts it. He still is the same, just a guy but without the abuse. Kendall, in some way always aspired to be his father. But he was a better person, and the show was always about Kendall. His fall and failures. Now he is his father: alienated wife, alienated kids, alienated sibling, and he has Collin (lol). But he could never REALLY become Logan, because he has no power or company...nothing. And honestly, it's fitting. I'm a Kendall stan, I'll admit. But it makes sense The show, to me at least, has always been Succession: The Tragedy of Kendall Roy. A masterpiece of writing, acting and music all blended into one of the greatest shows ever. And thank you guys for the reactions and discussions
It is really hard for me to feel bad for Kendall. How many billions did each of the siblings make once the deal closed? They did not earn that money. Same thing for Shiv. Tom gained a hollow CEO position and a multi million dollar salary, where as Shiv made billions due to an accident at birth. If any of them are really that confident in their abilities then losing the Waystar machine is an opportunity. They should just take their billions and start something of their own. If Elon Musk was confident enough with his abilities and vision to invest the entire 100 million he made from selling pay pall into Tesla. And unlike Elon, they would not have to gamble their entire net worth to create something new. The only reason to be devastate over the sale is if they have no faith in their abilities and can’t make anything happen with out the Waystar machine.
Shiv absolutely made the right decision. We already saw that the moment Kendall and Roman took over as CEOs, they immediately pushed her aside, despite having promised this would never happen literally the night before. Ken would have done the exact same thing again, just completely push her aside. Plus, Ken has no leading qualities, he would have definitely tanked the company; Matsson was awful, but let's face it, GoJo buying Waystar was the only way for it to survive. Ken didn't want the deal purely out of spite, despite it clearly being the only way forward. His spite and thirst for power was such that him and Roman supported a person like Mencken. So. If Ken had taken over, he would have completely pushed Shiv aside and he would have ruined the deal and the entire company. Neither Shiv nor the company had anything to gain from supporting him.
I am with Tom for this. He deserved that compared to the siblings. He went through Cruises + the elections. Maybe not the killer Logan has in mind, but he's still a killer compared to the siblings. Very satisfying 🤘🏽
I was a Kendall stan so i was really upset with the ending at first but after just sorta sleeping on it and seeing other people's thoughts it was actually great a full circle moment like u guys said. upset seeing shiv stuck in the cycle even if she does manage to exert some type of control thru tom but she really did just end up as the daughter of Logan roy and the wife of the CEO. feel like Kendall is probably gonna kill himself tho lol but I wanna say congrats to u guys! we notice the growth and appreciate it!! can't wait to see what u guys do next :) Ik dune part 2 is months away but it would be cool if u guys could do a discussion video or share ur thoughts on it afterwards. thx again for the work u all put in and cant wait to see what's in store! enjoy the Memorial Day weekend
Kendall can't kill himself now, though: cuz now Colin's watching him. He's in a fate worse than death: he's trapped with being alive. I've been a little surprised how many people really expected Kendall to win: because I think basically starting with the pilot, the show constantly tells you not only that none of the siblings will win, but that Kendall will lose the hardest: he'll lose the most, he'll lose everything compared to his siblings. The show is constantly telling you of all its tragedy arcs, Kendall's is the most inevitable.
@@malexander4094 I personally think he still can kill himself obviously not in the closing scene since as u mentioned Collin is right there but I don’t think it’s out of the picture I see what u mean with us constantly being told Kendall loses the hardest and most! We r stuck in a constant cycle of kendall reaching a climax and then falling so quick with each time the fall being worse and worse but for me it was never that it was more so that he wanted it the most out of his siblings and that made me want it for him too it was the fact that his life was so focused on taking over the company that I saw it as the only option just like him
Would be really interested in your rankings of best shows of all time. For me, Succession just cracked my top 5: 1. The Wire 2. Breaking Bad 3. Sopranos 4. Six Feet Under 5. Succession
Anyone think there's any relevance to Roman drinking Gerri's signature drink (martini?) Just not sure what that smile while he's drinking her drink is trying to say.
Oh I understand why shiv did it but she’s a witch evil witch. This keeps her in waystar and the brothers are out! Shiv was wrong but of course she kept her options open
At the end, they could have played "Me and my shadow" ruclips.net/video/e5hXtGkzZ9k/видео.html :) Loved it! I got to know these siblings and hoped a good life for them all. It was magic. Glad to live in a time with the best series in history. Will recommend "The Leftovers", a series for the end of the world. Next step. Love from Norway! :)
The scene between Kendall and Roman, where he pushes his stitches on his shoulder. It's not a punishment or show of dominance. Kendall understands how messed up Roman is and that he WANTS to be hurt at the moment. And he provides it for him. That's why he then says that he loves him. It's actually a very intimate moment, messed up as it is.
I'm going to disagree with you there. It was clearly meant to be a punishment and a show of dominance. A punishment for Roman considering flippping, a cruel answer to the the question 'why can't it be me?" Kendal knows Roman's history with Logan and violence, and he took that, twisted it, abused it. It was cruel, and a good way to show that Kendall is trying to be his father in all the worst ways.
it was cruelty veiled as compassion and the perfect scene to summarize how "the poison drips through". he became logan here, hurting someone he should've protected to get what he wants because roman was starting to waver. it's not an intimate moment, it's abuse.
25:50 I'm glad you said it makes sense (like no1 ever does) Coz outa the siblings Shiv actually can get things done anddd she playa the game the way guys do. It honestly frustrates me, the fanbase hate her for being rly shitty but like, this typa character ain't new Guys play this character all. the. time. & if they're successful ppl then say don't hate the player hate yhe game 😑. Also not the worst shitty character we've ever scene ie David Field in The Bear or conductor in Whiplash. I know she is messy but whatever it takes is what she is doing
@@redox.cinema what a beautifully written show. Biggest game in American sports at the time, along with the biggest moment/board meeting of the series. Takes out all three children
Sorry, but this feels like a season finale more than a series finale. The door is left ajar should Jesse Armstrong and the cast change their minds in the future and want to reprise it. Nothing's that's happened seems final. Tom could be easily ousted as CEO. Even Connor might not be going to Slovenia after all.
That would be a logical response if Kendall hadn’t been trying to backstab his dad since season one. There’s no point in arguing which one of them is worse, thats saying well the character I was rooting for only lied four times and your favorite lied six times so mine is better.
Didn't like that ending. There was very few character growth in the end, it happened in such a way that it could have happened twenty episodes ago and it wouldn't have changed anything, the last act was fuuuucking rushed, Shiv's behavior didn't make sense no matter how bad she is, it didn't subvert any expectations, au contraire... Despite rooting for Kendall although I never forget they were all douchebags, I would have done with him losing, but the way it happened, the way it was written... nah.
I also didn't understand Shivs decision when you look how the episodes builds up. In general I feel like almost any decision in the show has made sense so far but this one I don't really get. Maybe a few more scenes would have helped to make it more logical but I feel like it just happened to not get the most logical outcome of Kendall taking the crown.
The siblings always have a bonding moment whenever they're in Caroline's world. Then fracture when their in Logan's.
“He never liked me” 🤔
@@ForeverBrooklynNYCmade me laugh a little when he said that.
@@JordansTake35 that just shows even more love? That he was aware how embarrassing and ridiculous Connor was presenting himself, instead of disregarding it he told him. Just a father looking out for a son.
@@Coneyislandqueennn BS, he knew his son could make it harder for the candidate he wanted to get elected. And ge did! That's why Mencken asked Connor to pull out. Logan knew nothing but self interest, he knew nothing of love

this show but especially this season has been an unforgettable experience in every possible way. my favorite show ever and it isn't close.
thank you for the reactions and discussions, looking forward to the next shows you guys react to
and one last time: FUCK OFF 🍻
I was Team Kendall & the kids but this is a satisfying ending.
It's just power play and ego for them.
you're right, they're not after the money (they already have more than they could ever use) they're after the power and influence of being ceo of the largest media conglomerate in the world, the power to shape the world and drive the culture etc etc that's what they're addicted to
remember: the pierce family waiting for the roy siblings to venmo them that 10 billion dollars

Shiv becomes her mother trapped in a toxic marriage with no power
Kendall becomes his father but without any power to validate his actions
And Roman is left on his own without any of his coping mechanisms having to learn to be himself outside of any of his abusers
In better news at least my boy Colin is getting paid!!!!!!!
Kendal does NOT become his father, since his father was power.
Tom the pain sponge ain't got no power over her
@@SoulPatrolleryes she has money but Tom and her will always be stirred by Matsson
The scene where the kids watch Logan, Connor and the others is so sad. You can see with Logan too he actually wanted his kids to be there. I think they regretted that they went against Logan.
And I was touched seeing how much Kerry was in love with Logan
I don't think they regretted it. They loved him, but didn't regret it. Even Kendall told him he didn't forgive him for anything as he was dying, but he loved him. It's a complex relationship that a little home video can't completely override. It was a really great scene to show that even through everything, they still loved him.
It's not that simple man. Logan was a terrible father. That doesn't mean they didn't love him, they loved him but he made them suffer. It's a complicated relationship
That scene was very moving.
Shiv tried so hard to not bet like her mother, but that's all that's left for her. The CEO’s wife, the woman whose dinners get interrupted by board meetings. I have no words to describe this show.
She's a billionaire. She can buy her own company
The fact that Tom climbed up to the very top means that this show gave me trust issues for life.
Just remember Tom is just a front for Matisson. Lukas never wanted a strong person as CEO and perception of him being Shiv's puppet ticked him off.
@@markg.7865 Does it really matter tho? He gets the position, the glamour, the money...and mainly the perception of the world of being the CEO. ...and THAT is what the sibligs have fought for 4 seasons, the ability to look like they are SOMEBODY.

So refreshing to have quality reactors like you three, giving attention to the truly great television going on out there.
"I'M THE ELDEST BOY!" I lost my damn mind when he said that, it was so insane.

Love your reactions. The barrier with the water is great! I didn’t realize that until you mentioned it.
30:51 you people not understanding that tom is just an employee on a ceo sallary and shiv is now worth about 8 billion dollars is hilarious to me LOL "she's his bitch" huh? no she isn't LOL
Only distinction is that Tom is an employee and a front man...Logan was an owner and had control
Logan didn't have full control. No CEO does.
You guys did a fantastic reaction to this show.
Connor Content with whatever he can get out of being an Ambassador and Wila
Greg ....well in the immortal words of Jabba the Hutt YOURE MY KIND OF SCUM....he is the kind of scum Tom admires and needs and will always do his bidding.
People like Matsson do win in life and we may dislike, not care for and even hate them but it happens
I will miss the characters, the back and forths .
You totally nailed it. This is the correct assessment of Shiv and her choices!
Why would Tom be out of the job? He's the perfect person for this job, as Matsson explained.

How the f was Ken was at fault when Shiv was just jealous and couldn't see her brother at the top, the one in the middle is such a hater 😂
Shiv was about to bail out but Kendall threw a fucking mega tantrum. Maybe he could have salvaged it but he just wasnt capable.
1000% my point, thank you

Shiv became her mother 😂
@@ForeverBrooklynNYC I didn’t say the three of them though. But with the money from the Gojo deal, one of them could still buy Pierce and run it.

Shiv’s hair not being wet, and their clothes not being wetter was my biggest issue with the episode. Other than that, it stuck the landing

@@kristinaant6239 Of course Tom has power. Its not like Matsson makes every call about everything.
@@kristinaant6239 They both have power. Tom controls the day-to-day, and Mattson steers the ship.
Me too I liked Tom and had a feeling he might get it!
Tom is just going to be Matisson's puppet, a frontman while Matisson tinkers and transforms the company.
Great ending! Tom did the work and deserved that ending!
What a finale and closing chapter for what is easily an all timer TV show. If I ever watch a better written show I’ll be shocked.
Tom won the battle with Shiv, but Tom is still not THE boss. He's the CEO of a subsidiary company that will answer to a parent company in Sweden. He will always be Lukas Matsson's lapdog. Nobody ever owned Logan - Lukas owns Tom.
Tom didn't want to be in control. He wants to be Frank or Gerri. Which is exactly what he is.
I need to know what changed shivs mind like the fact that I’ll never know is stressing me outttt
@@gregweiler "Ken was being more aggressive and erratic than usual" => and that's what I call bad writing.
@@jsauceda9340 not anymore as he will serve Mattson and him alone
Or, OR, he can fire him.
Ken has agency though. He doesn't have to do sh*t, much less be followed by his own bodyguard if he doesn't want to.
He's kinda out of touch with reality. It may not be malicious but it's incredible sad.
@@kassiogomes8498 He's not the first guy to run for president knowing it's impossible for third party to win.
@@freedomm yeah, but the problem is that he really thought he could win.
@@kassiogomes8498 And? Everybody who's run third party irl recently from Ralph Nader in 2000, to Gary Johnson in 2016 to Jill Stein in 2016 to Jo Jorgensen in 2020 thought they could win.
@@freedomm what!?! No, they didn't. They run to oppose the American two party system, to make a statement and raise awareness. They know they could never win. Connor is a out of touch billionaire who had everything handed to him, he knows nothing about politics or the American people. That's why he thought he could win.
“mattson is like elon musk and pewdiepie” 😭😭😭😭 had me crying
yay Barry review by you guys - awesome! You will love it
'They're still billionaires' is such a shallow comment if you watched the whole show lol. Ken's quite literally suicidal after this. He knows no happiness
How I saw the end of the show:
At the start of the show, Shiv was away from the family because she didn't want to end up as a powerless woman in a toxic marriage. Then...she dipped her toe into the pool, fell all the way in and became THAT which she never wanted to be: her mother; trapped in a loveless marriage with the all powerful CEO
Roman, in my opinion, got the best end out of the main three siblings.
But it makes sense
The show, to me at least, has always been Succession: The Tragedy of Kendall Roy.
Neither Shiv nor the company had anything to gain from supporting him.
first time in this channel. you guys are great 👍
I don’t watch Succession, but these guys are pretty good
I like how you don’t react but also talk things out
I am with Tom for this.
@@malexander4094 I personally think he still can kill himself obviously not in the closing scene since as u mentioned Collin is right there but I don’t think it’s out of the picture
I see what u mean with us constantly being told Kendall loses the hardest and most! We r stuck in a constant cycle of kendall reaching a climax and then falling so quick with each time the fall being worse and worse but for me it was never that it was more so that he wanted it the most out of his siblings and that made me want it for him too it was the fact that his life was so focused on taking over the company that I saw it as the only option just like him
I actually think that Logan would like that Tom took over, Logan likes loyalty and Tom was 100% loyal to Logan
Would be really interested in your rankings of best shows of all time. For me, Succession just cracked my top 5:
1. The Wire
2. Breaking Bad
3. Sopranos
4. Six Feet Under
5. Succession
Ok where is GoT
Logan called it "I Fu*king win"
Anyone think there's any relevance to Roman drinking Gerri's signature drink (martini?) Just not sure what that smile while he's drinking her drink is trying to say.
Shiv will regroup and go back to her ways working Tom
Oh I understand why shiv did it but she’s a witch evil witch. This keeps her in waystar and the brothers are out! Shiv was wrong but of course she kept her options open
Roman is the most grounded among the siblings
Conner is. Roman is at the end.
25:50 I'm glad you said it makes sense (like no1 ever does)
Coz outa the siblings Shiv actually can get things done anddd she playa the game the way guys do.
Also thro the seasons I hate the abuse of Tom, but Tom could leave. They don't love each other, Tom. Could. Leave. Let's think about that.
The only unassisted triple play in World Series history, was made by a man with the last name Wamsgans. Indulge.
👀
@@redox.cinema what a beautifully written show. Biggest game in American sports at the time, along with the biggest moment/board meeting of the series. Takes out all three children
They got what they deserved.
I feel like its definitive that the 3 kids will never get the top job though
Lol blaming kendall for getting backstabbed like that, the mental gymnastics is crazy
That would be a logical response if Kendall hadn’t been trying to backstab his dad since season one. There’s no point in arguing which one of them is worse, thats saying well the character I was rooting for only lied four times and your favorite lied six times so mine is better.
Great reactions until this last one when you all talked through the best parts of the episode. Also, “she’s his bitch”? Bummer.
Despite rooting for Kendall although I never forget they were all douchebags, I would have done with him losing, but the way it happened, the way it was written... nah.
YES
I also didn't understand Shivs decision when you look how the episodes builds up. In general I feel like almost any decision in the show has made sense so far but this one I don't really get. Maybe a few more scenes would have helped to make it more logical but I feel like it just happened to not get the most logical outcome of Kendall taking the crown.
Shiv made the wrong decision !
