As a Liverpool fan I should be laughing my ass off at Mark after this but in all honesty his optimism at the start and the fact that he loves the club makes me feel a little bit for him. He's an honest United fan and when you love a club that much you can't always see things as they really are. This game had defeat all over it considering United's current form. He knows this United team is an embarrassment and his despair is from the heart. I don't mind that he dislikes Liverpool but he does respect them and he admires Klopp in a big way. For those reasons I like him and always watch his videos.

As a member of the goalkeeping union, you were 1000% spot on about Onana'd positioning. The second you choose not to play aggressive and attack the ball, that's one second the striker has an advantage on you. Even if he scores, like you said, at least you make it a little bit difficult closing the angles.
I guarantee that the majority, if not any, of those people coming at you for calling out Onana never played in goal.
As a striker, it's glaringly obvious to me that he should have closed it down. Along with everyone else that has eyes.

I'm not saying he could have saved the goal, but someone should tell Onana that, unlike in penalties, he is allowed to leave the goal line. I think most if not all other goalkeepers will rush ahead to try to close the space the moment Coman received the ball. This isn't an isolated incidence, clearly the coaching staff is telling him to hug the goal line.
It's amazing how so many world class players go to Man Utd and they somehow turn into players that would only ever start for Championship teams and no other PL teams
Usually, very few people know a goalkeepers game unless you've been a goalie yourself. But Mark is right. In this situation he needs to rush out and jump at the player. Also, notice how he steps to his left side like it's a penalty situation. I used to be a goalie myself and everything i see from Onana tells me he doesn't have the goalie IQ. He doesn't know what to do.
But yes, the goal isn't on him that's a bit of a stretch, but what we see from him every single game costs united a victory.
