I'm a Liverpool fan, but I'm not here to gloat. I think it's sad. Not only are those players showing a lack of respect to the club and the fans, they can't even be bothered to put in any effort to one of the greatest rivalries in the history of football. These two teams have given generations of football fans some serious entertainment, and always with fire and passion - until this lot. This Manchester Utd side are a disgrace to the badge. All the money they are paid and they can't be bothered to even try. After the result at Old Trafford, you'd think they would at least make an attempt to look like they wanted some redemption, but no, they looked like they'd accepted defeat before they even kicked the ball. Their current position in the league flatters them, something that was evident when they faced Everton (another team who haven't worked hard enough for their badge or their wages this season).
The Glazers may be a big part of the problem, but it isn't them out on the pitch failing to put in the effort. I don't know where you go from here. You'd probably be better off trying to persuade Roy Keane out of retirement and having him in the dressing room instead of Maguire. Ronaldo is the only current, obvious player worthy of the captain's armband and the circumstances of his absence tonight are awful.
