Obviously I only post the videos if I was successful, and so I hope I can help you out.

    Hi. Thanks a lot. 2day i bought Castrol Edge 5W-30 LL engine oil, filter. For the first time i am going to change oil on this car by myself. Your car is just the same my is. Even the color matches :))) Thanks a lot for a good video. BTW i drive LPG (REG OMVL). Sometimes Check engine light may appear, autumn, winter. Summer it goes off, usually. what would happen if you use 2 crush washers on the oil plug? One friend says nothing will happen, other friend says the plug wont seal right and eventually walk itself out of the drain, then zero oil - dead engine. Which friend has the bestest advice? I wanna do my 1st oil change and I don't wanna bust........ Thanks!!!

      I see no reason at all to use 2. They are made of aluminum and so when you tighten it, it mates to the surface of your oil pan. I'm not sure exactly what metal/s the pan is made of but I'm guessing its an iron alloy which is much harder than the aluminum. So the aluminum, when crushed into it, shapes to the pan to form a seal. If you double them up, the 2nd one may not mate to the first (again, I'm just guessing at this). The resulting leak would likely be pretty slow but yes eventually no oil=seized engine=bad bad news. Whatever you decide to do, just periodically check look under the vehicle to see if & how much its leaking. I throw down a broken down cardboard box under there to keep my garage clean, but also something where you can monitor how much you're leaking. Almost all cars, especially older ones, have a little drip, but if its...idk...say a quarter sized drop everyday...you're leaking too much.

    Question Josh... i was thinking of buying 1 st generation Tucson 05 to 09... is the car reliable? Would like a automatic trans.. thanks for your videos watched the fuel pump replacement...And your general Opinion of the car Thanks

      I hate to say this but I don't think I would recommend a Tucson. Shortly after I made these videos the transmission started slipping. I would be going about 45mph and the tachometer would all the sudden shoot up near redline for a few seconds. I tried Lucas Transmission fix and when that didn't work I had the ATM drained & filled. The problem persisted and talking with my mechanic he said Hyundais have "throw away" transmissions. Basically they aren't mean to be repaired, just replaced. Well, the cost of that was a quite a bit more than our 05 Tucson was worth. We traded it in and now drive an 06 Honda Pilot. Of course all of this could have been problems specific to my my car (not Hyundai in general) but it did sour me toward Hyundai with that whole "throw away transmission" thing.

      @@rawar777joshanderson Thanks Josh for getting back to me what a shame that you had trans trouble. I do like the way the 1st generation Tucson looks i think 05 was first year. To 09..like your videos and scribed to your channel, good luck with your Pilot.. Thank you and Merry Christmas. God Bless...

    My wife has an 05 Tuscan. It has 2 P0171 (System to Lean/bank 1) and 1 P0174 codes (System to Lean/ Bank 2) . I think I need to replace the 02 Sensors, But Im having a real difficult time finding them and figuring out how to diy it? Any suggestions?

      That was a job I never did on the Tucson. Did you ever buy a Chilton's or Haynes repair manual for your Tucson? Those things are great and will show you exactly where your sensors are and how to replace them.

    Why did I read in a car manual that 2005 takes 10w-30 and 2006 takes 5w-20? Do you know?

    • @rawar777joshanderson
      @rawar777joshanderson  6 лет назад

      My 2005 manual says "For good fuel economy, SAE 5W-20 (5W-
      30), ILSAC GF-3 engine oil is preferred regardless of regional option and engine variation.
      o If SAE 5W-20, ILSAC GF-3 engine oil is not available, secondary recommended engine oil for corresponding temperature range can be used." 10w-30 is that "secondary". Granted, my Tucson did not have the manual in it when I got it, so I found a PDF online that looks legit to me.

    • @abelhasrisen2793

      rawar777 lol awesome dude. Dont get me wrong my I probably saw that same PDF Manuel which also says 5-20 but the one at Walmart & AutoZone both say 10-30 which is why I wanted to run that by you. I was so confused so I asked my mechanic. My car has 180k miles so my mechanic recommended 10-30 during the summer and 5-30 during the winter. He said the 5-20 is only good for the first 100k miles and that with so much wear and tear it needs a little extra viscosity so that theirs less metal on metal contact going on inside the engine. But hey, that's just one mechanics opinion. Please let me know if y'all know any better. I'll let you know if I feel anything different or if I see a gas mileage decrease.

    • @rawar777joshanderson
      @rawar777joshanderson  6 лет назад

      I would trust your mechanic more then me (I'm not a mechanic! lol) What he said sounds like it makes sense to me! My engine has 170K on it so pretty close to yours. So yeah, let me know if you notice a difference.

      Look at the thermostat housing and thermostat. Do a chemical test to see if there is any cylinder head leak. If nothing do a pressure test to establish where it may be leaking from. The thermostat and housing often corrode on these vehicles.
