The team’s that Melo played on didn’t succeed because not only did they have mediocre players but also Melo’s game slowed the team’s pace down… whenever he had the ball, the team was always standing around in one spot… the two times he made it pass the first round two is because he had two well experienced Point guards (Billups 2009 and J Kidd 2013.) who’s game made their teammates move around a lot. When Jason Kidd left in 2013, the Knicks went from a 50 win team to a 20 win team in 2014 because they had no ball movement, which is something Melo chose not to specialize in which resulted in him getting benched and then removed from the league after he left the Rockets… Melo’s game doesn’t fit today’s style of play because he takes everyone out of the equation whenever he has the ball which makes his team predictable. That’s why Jahlil Okafor got benched when the Sixers brought in Joel… Joel was willing to expand his game beyond the traditional big man role and Jahlil wasn’t Will to work hard enough for that spot
i think melo's game has its place in the league but he should have the ball for half of the shot clock. Once he catches it either shoot, drive or pass it out. No more million jab steps.
In his twilight years I was really hoping my Warriors would take him, he would've lit it up in the bay. Good veteran presence with a quick jump shot, he'd have open looks for days and his size/strength helps as well. Just unretire to play with Steph for one year : )
as a big rebounder, if i've got a big advantage on the boards. I dont mind people doing Melo shii, because mid ranges bricks are prolly the easiest to read and win obard. Idk if the NBA stats back that up, but it definitely feels that way. short range bricks theres gonna be a lot of bodies in the area, and long range bricks come in hot. Mid range bricks you can tell where its going and you can win it 2 quick steps and beat like one person.
I like this street ball Nuggets Roster, that's a rly street ball ego sh*t, but those guys can't win a champ together, but it's on paper (or in 2k simulation) this is seems NUTS!! Even with AI. For me Knicks and Denver in 2004-2010 was always about street ball rosters
Also its the fact that Melo didn't care that much about winning and mostly just making money tbh. I never really saw that fire under him to win, like you see in Giannis or Butler. He just plays to play and make money. If he really cared he could've switched to better teams, or had a much better work ethic and fixed some of his flaws. Hes a great player, but personally just never saw that drive and motivation in him to get better and win. He didn't ever have that fire imo.
A lot of facts were spit. Melo was an incredible scorer but without a good team, his playstyle of iso is much easier to scheme for. He came from an era where top stars played like that so it isn't necessarily a fault of his, but combine dogshit teams with other teams having more modern go-to options and schemes and you see how the league changed under him. He Denver worked out or Amare not gotten the injury bug, Carmelo might have gotten a ring. Either way, you can't tell the story of 2000-2010s ball without mentioning his name quite a bit.
I remember that 45 pt Melo game against the Hawks, we should of won in regulation. On the last play Melo was fouled on a drive by Milsap which shoulda made it an and one and gave the knicks a chance to win with a free throw. Melo fouling out of that game was BS too.
Melo's game stopped a lot of motion on the offense. He was good, but never the player he couldve been, then the weight gain came. He really could've been something even better than he was
Ya Tell me u just looked up the box scores and didnt watch all those playoff games of melos.. i did.. stats dont tell the story... hard to be efficient on a constant double teams and no offensive help..not just "chuckin up bricks in big games" almost every bucket melo got in the playoffs was tough shot after tough shot on tough defense
Melo’s ego is probably the biggest reason he never even made a finals. He would’ve never joined a team where he was the second option in his prime. Even when he got picked up by OKC he laughed at just the idea of maybe coming off the bench in Manu Ginobili type of role even though he was washed by that point.
Melo's teams weren't bad he was just a horrible team player. Watch those games. Melo would draw doubles for easy skip passes but he'd rather take a tough middy. Plus he was pretty bad on D
In terms of overall resume he is only one apart from lebron who has one gold and one bronze more than michael jordan's two golds #malaysianBolecatholicschoolssuss
the title should be "half of melo`s game was beautiful, the other half was non existent" - basketball is played on both ends. with that said - yes, his offense was a thing of beauty
"I wish melo played with my nuggets"
Ayooo
I was about to write this lmaooo
I didn’t know you own the nuggets. McNuggets 🤣
no thank you, Jokic has his hands full trying to train Murray and MPJ not to be iso chuckers, he doesn't need another one on the roster.
@@uberneanderthal melo in jokic nuggers whould be a perfect duo
as a legend once said: "heso melo jello fellow, his favorite color yellow"

yuhh oprahh
Melo had the nicest shot in the nba
footwork was where he outshined imo
its like a 2 motion and 1 motion at the same time
Actually, he had the quickest first step and great body control
carmelo could get an open shot in a phone booth
going meat to meat is a crazy phrase
Love the vids. Would love to see longer content too, you’re really entertaining.
Smooth vid, as always. Melo was certified bucket at his best.
When nbagoober13 uploads, it’s the highlight of my week
watched 3 vids in a row and got addicted haha! subed

@@jmgonzales7701but he wasn’t doing a million Jab steps once he got to the blazers and he still put up 16 ppg that second season I believe
@@slycooper1979 he was during in the knicks, his play style is isolation.
@@jmgonzales7701 ok but he didn’t do that during the blazers. Your comment was sounding like present tense when he’s not doing that anymore
@@slycooper1979 yes he didnt do that anymore, but ofc by the time in the blazers he was already washed.
Forgot to mention that part of Melo inefficiency during 2013 playoffs was due to a shoulder injury
nice vid man
He will forever be known as a legend and the real melo
1:12 bro he goes what to what with Milsap? 😭
😂😂😂I had to scroll specifically for this comment
Nice vid dude
2 great videos yep I'm subscribed
Smoothest, beautifullest shot form ever, behind Shawn Marion
Can u make a video on top 5 underrated players by position, that's like 5 videos right there
No one has taken more contested long mid range shots. Greg Popoviches' nightmare basically
That Melo hawks game I remember like yesterday watching that shit live
Melo is great but when you’re purely an iso scorer you’re gonna have a ceiling for how much you can elevate your teammates
His fanbase should be bigger than what it really is.
Do Birdman next! :>
That nuggets comment took me a couple seconds Ngl😳

I love your vids, keep it up Goober
it's beautiful when it goes in, but when it misses then you start seeing the flaws of stagnant iso contested, mid range pull ups
The dude with only one name😂 Nené Hilario
I love La Melo Ball
forget if it was amare who said if he gets 40 points and team lose he's happy. if team win and he has low scoring game he's not happy
That was Chauncey
Melos teams went on winning streaks every time he was injured. 😂.
still hilarious how people think nene only has one name haha.
#STAYME7O 😤😤
Always hoped he’d somehow come back to Denver
early much lol

Melo was directly responsible for so many of his own teams losses.

Bruh. He chased the money that’s why he never had anyone. He could have joined the prime D Rose Bulls but chose to stay in New York for the bag.

Amazing scorer… horrible teammate. Had two triple doubles in his entire career. Doesn’t pass and takes terrible shots.
Don’t give credit to this guy. His game was terrible for a team. Most selfish player ever.
Most overrated player
Who overrates him?
