Thanks Pete for sharing your experience , we always price match and we travelled the Portsmouth - Spain route three times in the last 12 months , every time CMC were cheaper. I guess it could be time specific. Just booked again for next year with the same result after price matching. For completeness I have just done a test booking on line with the CMC and then with Brittany Ferries , the latter quoting £110 more on a return crossing on the same route selected. We must have travelled 10 times in the last five years on that route and never found booking direct to be cheaper unless we use Tesco Club Card Points. I guess the fact that you have had a different experience highlights the need to price check each year which thankfully we always do. Regards Helen and Martin
@@helenandmartinsTreks Big discounts if you have a friends and family club voyage card however it’s expensive to join and it’s country oriented 30% & 10% respectively. I’ve decided to leave CMC because of the no discounts as I use the Plymouth port when travelling to Europe.
Useful summary, thanks Martin. We often like to take the overnight ferries to save on vacation time, and because we are not really fans of ferry pitches on the UK side. Hull to Rotterdam works well for Germany and Switzerland. Travelling from the Manchester area, we like to use the Britany Ferries Portsmouth to Caen, Portsmouth to St Malo and sometimes Portsmouth to Cherbourg routes. The Brittany Ferries 2024 timetables to Spain and France have now been published, so we can all get planning again...😃
Thanks very much for watching we really appreciate it. We're also very interested to hear your approach to travelling. We are heading Harwich to Holland next month for a few weeks than we'll have to sit out our Brexit ban for 90 , before returning to Spain/Portugal in the new year, Happy travels Helen and Martin.
Very Informative Martin and some useful information as we are looking at options and wasn’t aware of some of the routes you have mentioned 😊 thanks for the info Debs and Mark xxx
Thanks guys , we have tried most of them but all , you did feature in my thinking Debs when I was drafting the script - the considerations about sailing . Always an inspiration you guys. Best wishes Helen and Martin
Very informative. Clare definitely wouldn’t be separated from her dogs 😂 We never knew you were so Disney Martin until we spotted Snow White behind you 😂
Thanks guys, we have had one very bad trip from Spain but otherwise not too bad. We do like Harwich to Holland , no M25 to deal with. Thanks for watching H and M
