The music of Faso is an inexhaustible source of sweetness. It allows us to plunge deep inside ourselves and at the same time resonate with our fellow man, Yé Lassina Coulibaly
This is a superbly composed work of Bartok - and desire the best of performers, like the ones we are listening to. Outstanding cavalcade of colors and rhythm, infused with the instumental brilliance of the performers. Bravo !
I heard Sonata for two Pianos and Percussion live as a kid then I think my brother got a copy of this recording on CD. It is a very aggressive playing of the piece. I always wondered what the performers looked like on this recording!
Not sure whether this has anything to do with the fire of their performance, but: These musicians are all Hungarians. Look at their names. So was Bartok, and he took quite a bit of melodic and rhythmic inspiration from Hungarian folk music. So most musicians might hear challenging 20th Century classical music here, with odd scales and off-center rhythms - but this grouping might hear something close to the traditional dance tunes and sad love ballads they grew up with, and that's how they play this piece. It's like the case with some American classical music, where you have to know how to swing to play it the way it was meant.

Stunning performance! I think the decor and lighting adds to the effect.
Lovelly playing, comunicative and joyful, with precision but also a great amount of sensuality and sense of dance.

This is one of my favorite versions of this piece.
The first movement in particular, feels more like a rhythmic dance than in other versions.

A stunningly clear and inspiring performance! Many thanks
Wonderful, merry performance, excellent recording. I love Jeno Janda"s recordings of Bach, and he's just as lively with Bartok.

I don't know all the versions, and I am a percussionist, but this is entirely more accurate than the one with Steve Schick.
Bravo!
