I have two little boys, I remember the first months well. sleep will get better. family is first never feel bad about being with them man. Happy father's day
A 120 decibel alarm 10 feet from a single pane window is not louder than an exhaust from an R1 that is parked in a garage on the other side of the house? He didn't straight pipe the damn thing.
I just wanted to say thank you for this build series , I'm just getting into biking and wanted to build a ruckus for my first bike . you have covered everything I needed to know and more . REALLY APPRECIATE IT !
Wouldn't be a motovlog without some sort of GoPro issues! Good luck getting the Ruckus started buddy. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the R6.
Yeah it's been a while! I'm sorry 😭 I really need to swap the countershaft seal, but wanted to wait until after the baby came for the same reason I hadn't worked on the Ruckus. Wanted something I could work on when I couldn't always go out and ride. Free time has been slim pickings but as soon as I get a chance to do that, we'll be back on the road! I also need to check the valves. 😬
hahaha totally did not realize I said that. Unfortunately, that only explains the second time. Checked the first time and it stopped when I wasn't even talking :/
Your VLOGS are awesome and so is your ruck. I binge watched them all as I was gathering parts for my gy6. Your moto vlogs were a big inspiration as to why I wanted to start doing my own. I even took your suggestion as to which mic to use. Thanks for all the help!
Great video! It was worth the wait. In your previous videos when battery wasn't charging on Rukus and later you fixed that issue, I thought "Does he have a digital multimeter" , then today I see this video and hear the Rukus battery dying down and you chopped your starter switch , I thought "he can use a multimeter to test continuity (simply touch the ends or somewhere in a line to know if there is connection) then there would be less unplugging of things. I am sure you can find a cheap or expensive one from 10~30$ . My helmet cam shuts off too sometimes, I should upload my experience in Japan one of these days. Thanks for the reply the other day!
Congrats on the new kid! I had a very similar issue to yours with the cutting out on the road [sigh], do a few resistance checks on the mag, and the cdi module. Mine was fixed after a magneto replacement.
Thank you so much Motonosity! Because of you, DoItWithDan , BakerXDerek , ChaseOnTwoWheels, and so many more! I am getting my first motorcycle tomorrow, a 96 Magna 750. Y'all have helped me through some tough times, losing weight and helping me achieve so many dreams of mine. I hope to be riding with you all on day!
I was stoked you showed the stuff I sent you on the last episode! Hope you do the Radio Flyer build at some point as a little side project. Don't want to be redundant, but I'd say it's probably your ignition coil or CDI. Luckily both cheap to replace! Cheers, man! You'll get her running.
check your grounds! start from the beginning and know what wires go to what. keep it simple. also use a volt pen and see if you have power going to each wire. you might be able to figure out what the issue is a bit easier
this ruckus is good practice to get good at reading wiring diagrams. that s14 is an odd year, 95 was the change from OBD1 to OBD2 and the S14 that year may be either. you also need to tuck the body harness on the drivers front fender or you will chew right thru it. not much clearance in the fender well.
@motonosity. check your spark plug cable. from what I learned the aftermarket spark plug wires are junk always stick with stock. the ignition coils that are aftermarket always die faster. swap back to stock (personal experience)
Motonosity Allright, so that's not the problem. Did you check your sparkplug yet? Might be bad or not getting any power. Maybe the power that's supposed to go the plug is now constanly on the starter hence it cranks over but doesn't start.
Now that it turns over you should focus of checking fuel now maybe add an additive to the fuel to help make sure that the pump didn't gunk up from sitting.
If your horn randomly came on then the switch maybe messed up or you have a short somewhere. You should also check to see if there is power going to the starter button which can easily be done with a tester and you should also check if you are getting spark
Some how I got lucky with my son 98% of the time he sleeps like clockwork. He's almost two now but he never gets up during the night and all we have to say is bedtime put your toys away and off he goes lol. He's like his dad enjoys a good sleep.
I wonder if right now you are not getting power to the ignition coil. With starting fluid if you had power to the coil it should have at least fired a little bit. Worth checking.
I have the same ruckus set up and problem you have. If you pull the spark plug and ground it, I bet you will also not have spark. I tried a new CDI box and solenoid, but that didn't fix the problem. Hopefully we both can get the rucks fixed and running before the end of summer! Let me know if you get it!
now that you have it turning over. take the spark plug out and put it against the some metal on the bike/ ideally the barrel and see if it sparks when you turn it over. :)
pull spark plug check for spark if no spark check all grounds and change cdi. common thing to happen is bad ground causes cdi to burn out had it happen to me many times to where i started to have a extra cdi on my scooter till i asked a scooter mechanic what he thought it was. he strait up said sounds like a bad ground so that day i went through my wiring and redid all grounds and quit burning up the cdi. went for 25000 miles with no problems after i fixed the grounds and gave it to someone in need of transportation who never changed the oil and blew it up 7000 miles latter
My GoPro absolutely randomly stops recording too. Ever since i bought it years ago. I found somewhat of a fix by re-seating the battery. I've used GoPro since 1st model and all of them been doing this. Can never trust it to record
Not sure if your GY6 uses the electric choke unit but, I had one and the choke unit went bad and it refused to start regardless of how hard I tried. Hope to see you vlogging from the Ruckus again soon.
sounds like you have a bad ground...that can also cause the starter to run without the button pushed because it's ground through the positive system...check spark then check all ground locations...if nothing then check the VID box...they can and do burn out...
Motonosity I have a question here in Florida or atleast Miami life insurance companies won't insure you if you have a motorcycle and a child does the same apply for where you live?
if you have a memory card in your go pro that doesn't have the full read write speed it can cause problems, try reformatting your memory card and if that doesnt work, get a new card with a better read write speed
Forgot to comment that last vid buddy! Congrats to you guys with a daughter :))) My girlfriend and I got ourselves a daughter in april as well...nice to see you also have a girlfriend who allows you to keep up with your hobby even though the time is tight! *Fistbump*
Yeah don't worry man, you said it perfectly you don't wanna just put out videos for the sake of putting out videos, Do what you need to do with the baby and all your loyal followers will understand, I'm sure they have plenty of other creators to watch in the mean time!
starting fluid doesn't work on scooters fyi... i tried with mine .. try hitting the starter next time it doesn't start ... or if its cranking and has no start like yours, instead of starting fluid... use gasoline and trickle some through the top of the carb where the cap is with the two phillips screws
You sprayed starting fluid in the carb and it didn't turn over, you've got a spark problem. Follow your ignition wire "spark plug wire" to the end of it and there should be a box sorta thing, there should be 2 wires connected to that box, unplug them and get some sand paper and scuff up the contact points, plug the wires back in and see if it starts.
hey man, everyone whose had a kid will understand the delays in vids. keep it up, you only get a short time with the babies! btw Happy 1st Father's day!!
yo i bought a scooter n you'll have to check the full technicall stamroot. remove the plastic n read all power on every line. mine got hot by the engine, started corrosion inside the cable
Wait.. I had problems like this with my car (No idea if this is the same solution). Please don't bash me but I have like no knowledge on bikes yet but you should check the GROUNDS to the battery and motor and see if they are covered in dirt or just rusty( disconnect from bolts and clean them, both the bolt and wire.) and disconnect the battery then clean the terminals really good. Sorry if this is difficult to understand.
The GY6 engine is notorious for dying randomly. It has a ton of small problems but a majority of the problems is the carb. It's better off being converted to EFI.
and this is why I decided against putting a Chinese gy6 on my ruckus and bout a grom to go faster on than my ruck stock get starts up every time but either way ruckus looks really good
You don't need to apologise bro, We get it and those who don't... never will...
I have two little boys, I remember the first months well. sleep will get better. family is first never feel bad about being with them man. Happy father's day
FYI you can make a funnel by rolling paper into a cone. it works mainly with oils.
Happy Father's Day! That Ruckus is an awesome first vehicle for the baby girl 👊🐢☠️
Thanks! haha maybe a miniature stock one :P
Motonosity crf 50, or pw50
Dylan Westbrooks he seems to be a lamaha nerd so it will be a pw50
Wait until the baby is 6-7 months old. You will have to walk your R1 at the end of the block to start it up.
Krristos bs
My kids at that age slept through way louder. They slept though a car break in outside the window with a car alarm going off.
A 120 decibel alarm 10 feet from a single pane window is not louder than an exhaust from an R1 that is parked in a garage on the other side of the house? He didn't straight pipe the damn thing.
give the battery a full charge turn it over check the spark if spark good drain that gas put fresh gas in it of that don't work clean the carb
ejb 84 I was going to say the same thing.
I'm sorry about the wiring, it's the hardest part of builds! wiring the Ruckus must Suckus :/
GY6 wiring is strange. Things seem to start and stop working depending on how the scooters feel in my experience.
Looking forward to seeing what you do with the R6.
stop leaving your turn signal on. That's why the guy was waiting for you in the parking lot.
hey man, you don't ride the CRF450 anymore... i think i'm not the only one that want to see you again riding it...
He needs to learn how to wheelie. There are *so* many motovloggers who could help him with that.
Motonosity no sorry you are a father now things change. but you do a grate job keep on doing your thing
Roman Libbers *Great
Roman Libbers Exactly what I wanted to say, lol great* comment .
Hi there !
i know why you gopro stoped ;) because you said "stop recording"
turn the voice commands off ;)
hahaha totally did not realize I said that. Unfortunately, that only explains the second time. Checked the first time and it stopped when I wasn't even talking :/
Motonosity maybe update the gopro to the newest version of its firmware?
Motonosity some bikes if your oil low it want start for safety
Editing on this video is excellent! That transition from the starter solenoid mixup blew my mind!
my dad had a little ruckus a few years back, we would drive through the lawn and through the neighbors lawn. And I miss it so much.
Hope you had a happy Father's day man, congrats to you and your wife!
Great material, I started watching you from the ruckus build. Babies definitely take up your time, family should always be the priority!
Awww. I love the ruckus vids. Wish it would start
Congratulations on the new addition to the family.
I dream of crafting a sweet Ruckus, one day. Thanks for the vids!
I LOVE THE RUCK VIDEOS!! CONGRADS ON THE BABY!!!
boi if you don't quit with that smooth ass editing
Your VLOGS are awesome and so is your ruck. I binge watched them all as I was gathering parts for my gy6. Your moto vlogs were a big inspiration as to why I wanted to start doing my own. I even took your suggestion as to which mic to use. Thanks for all the help!
Good to see you, family always comes first👍

Hope you get it running soon. Know the frustrations all too well. Important thing is, you seem to be spending a lot of time with the family!
happy father's day man. congrats on the baby, check your wiring over well. sounds like you have no spark
I really enjoy watching your videos, your shear determination drives me to excel in areas I battle in. Your content is awesome.
Congrats on the new kid! I had a very similar issue to yours with the cutting out on the road [sigh], do a few resistance checks on the mag, and the cdi module. Mine was fixed after a magneto replacement.

Grab your multimeter and put it to continuity. Start checking all wires to see if you have a break in a wire or everything is grounded.
I love your videos bro, I am from Serbia, and we love you, I'm learning so much from you, so thank you, you're the best
You might have a cracked spark plug it's a long shot but worth checking it out my friends had that that's why I say that took forever to figure it out
Happy Father's Day motonoisity! I love all your vids. Work on the wheeeeeeeelies man!👍🏻
Did you notice that one of the headlights did not turn on. Could be a video glitch but I doubt it. one light on super bright and one not on at all.
The other light is the high beam!
Strange set up. My ruck has both on at same time with highbeam on both bulbs
We'll always be patient. U have ur life just like how we have ours, so take ur time and do what u have to do
check your grounds! start from the beginning and know what wires go to what. keep it simple. also use a volt pen and see if you have power going to each wire. you might be able to figure out what the issue is a bit easier

Glad to see you post something but as a father I totally understand the lack of content. Happy fathers day day!
Get or make a test lamp so you can ground/earth one side and touch wire with other to see if you have power.
I find it's usually better to work backwards from the engine - first confirm if you are getting a spark - no spark means more than a dodgy button.
@motonosity. check your spark plug cable. from what I learned the aftermarket spark plug wires are junk always stick with stock. the ignition coils that are aftermarket always die faster. swap back to stock (personal experience)
Have you tried to reconnect the horn? It might start back up again and when it does you just need to figure out why it draws power through the horn
Yeah i reconnected it as soon as I took the front of the box off
Motonosity Allright, so that's not the problem. Did you check your sparkplug yet? Might be bad or not getting any power. Maybe the power that's supposed to go the plug is now constanly on the starter hence it cranks over but doesn't start.
Now that it turns over you should focus of checking fuel now maybe add an additive to the fuel to help make sure that the pump didn't gunk up from sitting.
check your CDI and even the coil. they go out quite often and without notice.
If your horn randomly came on then the switch maybe messed up or you have a short somewhere. You should also check to see if there is power going to the starter button which can easily be done with a tester and you should also check if you are getting spark

I hope you make it out to Smokey mountain Crawl next yr in TN.....with the ruckus
New to the channel and slowly catching up on everything but great content and quality dude! (also great background music too)👍👍
Sounds like it's not getting spark? Holy starter fluid batman
AResistanceRider That's what I was thinking.
Yeah , a little too much starter fluid. 0.3second spray shot is all it needs. In the future on any bike please don't use that much.
The HEB where you live looks so fancy compared to the ones i've seen over here in Houston
Check your spark plug to make sure it's getting spark when you crank it. If it's getting spark odds are your carb is gunked up.
now that you have it turning over. take the spark plug out and put it against the some metal on the bike/ ideally the barrel and see if it sparks when you turn it over. :)
Ah fatherhood is a wonderful yet stressful time...Right there with you dude, if you need any advice, let us know!
unhook the fuel line see if the fuel pump is working. also check your kill switch, with all the wiring you have done it might be bad too.
no matter if the video is 5 min or 20 min. we all support you and understand that you just had a baby and need the rest. keep up the good videos!!
+Eli Flower thanks for support, Eli!
pull spark plug check for spark if no spark check all grounds and change cdi. common thing to happen is bad ground causes cdi to burn out had it happen to me many times to where i started to have a extra cdi on my scooter till i asked a scooter mechanic what he thought it was. he strait up said sounds like a bad ground so that day i went through my wiring and redid all grounds and quit burning up the cdi. went for 25000 miles with no problems after i fixed the grounds and gave it to someone in need of transportation who never changed the oil and blew it up 7000 miles latter

When you get back from cali and after the r6 ecu you should do another video working on the ruckus
Not sure if your GY6 uses the electric choke unit but, I had one and the choke unit went bad and it refused to start regardless of how hard I tried. Hope to see you vlogging from the Ruckus again soon.
turkey baster works great for getting oils into tight places.
I think u need switch for your head lamp, so you can turn off the lamp to preserve power to start your bike.
Check it's getting spark. It's probably not. No spark check stator?
Come and ride in Steiner ranch it's awesome that one of my favorite youtubers lives so close so stop by
OMG I go to that same HEB! We probably live like 5 miles away from eachother.
Also, happy father's day man!
congrats on the new baby and happy fathers day
3:22 omg the borat impression is spot on. Had me in tears 😂
sounds like you have a bad ground...that can also cause the starter to run without the button pushed because it's ground through the positive system...check spark then check all ground locations...if nothing then check the VID box...they can and do burn out...
Pull your spark plug and hold it to the frame while it's trying to start. If not you're not getting spark and it may be CDI related.
Happy Father's Day Brent
you dont need to use gear oil, you can use motor oil instead. also were you holding in the brake lever before pushing the starter switch?
if you buy a multi meter it would save you a whole lot of trouble and time when fixing and trouble shooting the scoot
Motonosity I have a question here in Florida or atleast Miami life insurance companies won't insure you if you have a motorcycle and a child does the same apply for where you live?
I bet there is no spark.
if you have a memory card in your go pro that doesn't have the full read write speed it can cause problems, try reformatting your memory card and if that doesnt work, get a new card with a better read write speed
lol had the same with the gear oil, my carter plug was lose on my 50cc supermoto
hey man, pro tip make from thin plastic bottle fonnel also paper works just fine if you are not pouring that much. ask me how i know haha
Forgot to comment that last vid buddy! Congrats to you guys with a daughter :)))
My girlfriend and I got ourselves a daughter in april as well...nice to see you also have a girlfriend who allows you to keep up with your hobby even though the time is tight! *Fistbump*
@4:25 why do you take both hands off the handlebars? what if you hit a pot hole or a slick spot? If you wreck make sure you post that on RUclips.
HAPPY FATHERS DAY MOTONOSITY
Im weirdly attracted to that ruckus. Im riding on Africa Twin (big motorcycle) but i liked look of ruckus so much xD
Kubzol cant really can an auto bike a ´motorcycle´
I didnt call it motorcycle :) but i like the look of it. For driving in small size city it's nice, or for 3rd "motorcycle" - ( ;) )
I'm sure you already checked, but just incase try seeing if you got spark from the plug. It's possible it fouled?
Yeah don't worry man, you said it perfectly you don't wanna just put out videos for the sake of putting out videos, Do what you need to do with the baby and all your loyal followers will understand, I'm sure they have plenty of other creators to watch in the mean time!
You should start doing more ruckus vids man they’re sick!!
did you check the magnetic starter?
starting fluid doesn't work on scooters fyi... i tried with mine .. try hitting the starter next time it doesn't start ... or if its cranking and has no start like yours, instead of starting fluid... use gasoline and trickle some through the top of the carb where the cap is with the two phillips screws
Sorry for the late congrats and Happy Father's Day!
I'll look into that, thanks man. Planned to check the spark plug today anyways and am seeing a lot of others mention it. Thanks!
Motonosity if you have a voltage tester use it on those two wires, follow it from there. I'm in round rock if you need help.
hey man, everyone whose had a kid will understand the delays in vids. keep it up, you only get a short time with the babies! btw Happy 1st Father's day!!
yo i bought a scooter n you'll have to check the full technicall stamroot. remove the plastic n read all power on every line. mine got hot by the engine, started corrosion inside the cable
srry for my bad english
The GY6 engine is notorious for dying randomly. It has a ton of small problems but a majority of the problems is the carb. It's better off being converted to EFI.
maybe it's the cdi. was the turn off switch put to on
and this is why I decided against putting a Chinese gy6 on my ruckus and bout a grom to go faster on than my ruck stock get starts up every time but either way ruckus looks really good
Happy first Father's Day Moto
Hey just wanted to say happy Father's Day cause it's your first since becoming a dad.
you might need to replace the starter solenoid
congrats on the new baby boy or girl
