Jake Walman has easily become my favorite player, the skill in the offensive zone and defensive zone is there, he's young, he's physical, he's got emotion and heart, and ofc he did the griddy. I love that inside cut move he makes, he's a beauty!
The Red Wings most interesting player if you ask me. Hoping him and Seider can build even more chemistry together next year. They looked really good together.
@@moappleseider1699 I didn't really know anything about him when he went, so all I had to look at was his stats at that point, and he didn't seem to crack anyone's lineup. It seemed he was asking a lot for not appearing to show a lot. I'm very happy to have had him shut me up.
@@bartsanders1553 Yeah, he kind of flew under the radar for a while but The Hockey Guy has been saying how under rated he was for the last couple seasons.
What a perfect defence pair Detroits got. Seider: Hits hard Punishes players trying to check him Blocks shots Fantastic passer Big body Good hands Walman: Great edge work Rocket shot Great passer Likes to jump in on the play while also being the first man back Loves to block passes It’s actually incredibly just how much Walman reminds me of Duncan Keith. He’s like a carbon copy even if he does lack the incredible senses Keith had. The way he skates, the way he takes away passing lanes, and the way he creates offence is just staggering to me. And Mo Seider is just in a league of his own. For a defencemen to be a good as a puck mover as he is while have Shea Weber levels of strength is just nuts. Detroit has a bright future on the defence, and with players like Edvinsson who is also a massive defencemen with amazing skating legs and passing skills coming up soon, as well as Pellika is is much the same but he’s also got a deadly wrister. As for offence, with players like Raymond, Larkin, Copp, and now DeBrincat leading the core I see no reason why their offence wouldn’t be a powerhouse as well. They may not be a team who scores a ton of goals, but man, they will be one awesome two way team with goalie tandem that can split a season 50/50. I look forward to watching them, it’s gonna be good.
Imagine how good Seider's season would've been if he wasn't lumbered with Ben Shiterot for most of the season. He and Walman looked good together. Not sure I want Walman as the top line D Man for the long term though.
If you keep him and Seider together to continue building their chemistry, and you get Edvinsson and another guy he clicks well with, you're looking at two potential top pair D lines. Maybe load up and put Mo/Ed (or insert your ideal top line pairing here) on a PP line, but keeping them separate balances the load and makes your defensive corps at least twice as deep.
Ever since i watched him 2 years ago, hes been my favorite defenseman. Hes by far the best breakout defenseman in the league and hes got some great skill in the o zone over the last year too. So glad he finally gets to be the top dog with Mo
How exactly do you collect all of the defensive plays? I think it's really important for these videos and shows that players like Walman aren't just defensemen who play like forwards, but defensive plays don't show up on the score sheet. Do you have a way of combing through the games after they've aired? I can't help but wonder how many defensive plays you could highlight for a guy like Chiarot, even though no one wants to see a video for him
When I take notes during live games for my game highlight videos, I write down something next to the timestamp for plays I might use in another video. For example, 1548 WD, which = Walman defense at 1548 of whatever period. Goals are obviously easy to find, but I keep track of extra replays, big hits/saves, defensive plays, scoring chances etc. With the exception of hits & saves, I don't do this for every player, just the ones I feel might get a video at season's end. Walman surprised me a little bit, I started paying closer attention to his game once he was paired up with Seider.
Man I always think and feel Walman is like 5’10. It says he’s 6’1/6’2 everywhere though lol not bad size at all. Him and seider are fckn money together

Hell yeah!.. do you try to implement that move in your game now?
his stutter steps at the blue line are just top tier. making some of the best dudes in the nhl look like clowns
Yea, they are similar to Steph Curry type head fakes / crossovers at the three-point line😅
The Red Wings most interesting player if you ask me. Hoping him and Seider can build even more chemistry together next year. They looked really good together.
Last off season, Walman and the Red Wings almost went to arbitration. Now, he's our top D pair with Seider 🤣
That put a bitter taste in my mouth, but he was so sweet this season.😂
@@bartsanders1553 Why? Players "almost go to arbitration" all the time.

His "fight" with Lafrenier is still hilarious. Walman Vs a T-rex 🦖
Still can’t believe they put him in the box for being ravaged by the little dino hands

Ken lost his mind on that OT Gritty goal, you love to hear the excitement. Ken and Mick are absolute legends.
Mick had no idea about the dance. He just said, "...I guess."
Micky wasn't as impressed 😅😂😂 a pair 🐐🐐
big hopes for him this year !
I've been waitin for this one
I really like these Season Highlights. Detroit has a great future to bring the cup back to where it belongs. LGRW!!!!!
freakin love this guy, can’t wait for next season

Don’t want to go crazy but he should be around 50 points playing on the top pair this year
The new devon toews basically
Best trade steal Yzermans made yet. Dudes so flashy and entertaining to watch

You could add steals/take away and block shot numbers at the end
great job mixing audio and video. you are a true gem in the red wing community!
His puck handling with his back on the blue line is quite elite.
I had no idea that Walman hit the Griddy on his first goal with us. Very niiice
Very glad that they locked him up for another 3 years. Such an underrated defenseman and his chemistry with Mo has been terrific.
Jake "The Snake" Walman is awesome!
Walman, Sundqvist and a 2nd for Nick Leddy.... good lord
Was gunna make this til you made poll couple weeks back. Thank you 😚😚😚
1:40 gritty moment
WALLMAN, WHAT A CELLY, A WINNER FOR JAKE WALLMAN
Man Walman and Seider are going to be challenging the League for best defensive pair soon
Walman by far had the top celly of the season
Seider's pass at 8:05 is soooooo fucking nasty
Why is Walman not a X factor defense in nhl 23 yet? This bro has no chill
Not to be to hype, but Sieder and Walman together give me the vibes of Lidstrom-Rafalski. Next season is going to be a blast
Anybody know the name of the song at 10:20?
Didn't get credited for this beauty saucer pass at 9:10
I'm a Jake Walman fan.

Farewell Jake, sorry our GM is clueless when it comes to asset and cap management.

i do not approve of the gritty
The kids loved it. Seen it multiple times right afterwards.
I liked it!
Nice username lol
I don't think Jake, nor anyone else, cares
the gritty does not ask for permission, the gritty does what the gritty does
Dude do you have a HD clip/highlight of the 2009 WCF Game 6 OT game winner by Mikel Samuelsson???
