Hi Gary, so how did you clean out the solenoids etc? Were new ones fitted, or did you clean the originals and refit (demagnetize etc)? Of course, your process would be relelvent to other ZF model solenoids.
Sir in a similar porsche vehicle I have question, please answer if available. In a tiptronic 911, 1999 model, transmission oil was mixed with coolant & gears were not shifting because of it. Oil drained & it was all coffee, but no metal chips, oil flushed with original oil multiple times( oil filter replaced, valve body removed & cleaned) & now oil is good. When the car is on the lift all gears are going . PNRD all OK, something I have observed that when accelerating on lift at drive, car does not accelerate after 50kmph . When I put the car on ground, all gears shifts but car moves very slowly in Drive, even if I accelerate it does not works well. What I must do please suggest

Hi. Great video. My A4 zf5hp19fl goes onto soft limp mode with no codes. It shifts perfectly but when I floor it she goes into this semi limp mode which prevents me from downshifting with the pedal. Also slams into reverse when this happens. And then all of a sudden it's fine again until I floor it. Last dtc was p0734. I've removed and cleaned the valve body. Tested the solenoid and harness. All good. Changed FLUID and filter.any advice? Thanks.
@@GaryFerraro why would the problem come and go. I think even when cold. Sometimes she slams into reverse but if I cycle through the gears, the slam stops. I noticed after removing the vb, the clutch packs in dg drum were very loose in Park. Lots of free play. The clutches were not locked. Is that normal in Park?
Hi Gary, I am wondering if you could assist. I have a 2007 BMW 530i LCi with the electronic gear shifter . When I start the car when it is still in park, there is a thud coming from the Transmission, and a clank when turning off engine which sounds like it is coming from the diff. If I leave the car for about 1 hour after it reaches operating temperature, the thud is more pronounced. Any ideas please. My initials thoughts were Solinoids and sleeves.
ok, question, if you start the car in Neutral do you hear a noise? have a car here for a while and not sure what the problem is, it is similar to your problem
@@GaryFerraro Funny you should ask that, about two days ago I tried that very thing about putting it in Neutral. It does not do it while in Neutral. Let me know if you find out what it is . I did a driver adaption rest too.
@@DocMackGarage So far i tried reprogram(they told me they reprogrammed but no way i can tell) and i tried new set of park solenoids. The problem is the driveshaft is turning or flexing and the park pawl is hitting the park gear.
@Gary Ferraro Exactly what I have , it sounds like the drive shaft turns and slams on park . The one more thing I noticed is if you leave the car for a while after running it, the thud moves the car backwards about an inch . When letting off the brake at a traffic light the car can roll back about 2 inches and thud (This is while in Drive. Do you know if this will damage the car ?

I didn't do much with them, they never go bad, left them installed and cleaned out the valvebody

I suggest an overhaul, once the water gets in there, the trans needs to be done

I made mistake to keep small parts next to work area and got a spring jump them. Not fun to search the little things. Hope helps someone to avoid it.
