This song is so amazing. These songs give me so much inspiration! - Side note: I remember one night where I decided to try out a new burger place that was about a 30min drive for me, so I got in the car and turned the radio way up and played this song over and over again. It was so great driving at night with the windows down, feeling the nice cool breeze, looking at the night sky while having this song was blasting through the radio, driving to a new area and seeing new places, while also being very excited for my burger. You said during second sky this was super under rated even though it's your favorite song you ever wrote, and I'm here to say it's mine too. I'm one of the somebodies, somewhere, who found the warmth of summer in the songs you write.
I just had a revelation about this song. To me, it's about how as a creative, you always strive for more and more, to try and make yourself, well, feel alive, and come alive but when you actually accomplish something being so self critical that you aren't actually able to fully embrace your work. So you do it again and again, in a never ending cycle of struggle and trying to improve to try and chase that feeling of "I finally made it". But it just never comes, because you always want more out of your work. The ending makes me cry every time though, because it's the realization that maybe it's not the art itself will make you feel alive, but who you can impact with it that truly makes you come alive.
It took a while for me to think so, but I think this is genuinely the best song on the album. It's so warm and fuzzy feeling, and you can truly feel that Porter found closure in his struggle. Can't thank Fantano enough for pivoting my view on this song from the album ending to the album "end credits rolling" song

This is one of the best endings to an album I've heard in a long time, probably since "Heysatan" by Sigur Ros. The lyrics are amazing. I was pretty much crying after hearing it for the first time.
Did not expect a song titled so melancholically to slap this hard. The way it builds kind of reminds me of a Pogo or Liltommyj mix. Lyrically, that last verse calls back to Get Your Wish, thematically; maybe all the struggle of trying to create something is worth it if someone else can get something out of it, maybe it's okay that neither the process nor the praise that accompany it can REALLY leave you satisfied because maybe they're not supposed to. I dunno. That's just my interpretation. What an album. Sat out on my porch and looked at the moon and sketched a bit and had some chocolate pudding while I listened to it. Not quite the drive to the sunny field that Porter recommended, but the album released at nighttime in my time zone.

I really found the warmth in your songs, and the inspiration, we are all trying to find something more, to feel something that we think could give us fulfillment, but in trying this, we ignore everything we can bring to others. I keep listening to this album and to this song. And its the strangest feeling to come to it over and over again, and come out with rhe urge to just say "thank you for making this, its beautiful". Edit: Coming back to this I've finally figured out what this is. This song is like the moment at the end of the film where everything comes full circle. Its the resolution, the space in which our protagonist can take a moment to breathe and apprieciate all they hold dear as the emotions of the journey rush through them. And we as a the audience an breathe a collective sigh of relief as hope for the future is finally restored.
The songs hit even harder when you've been playing for years and you look back at everything you've done up to this moment, whether it's a new world or it's the one you've been working on since forever, whether you've been playing alone or with friends, whether it's survival or creative, whether you even have your own world or you play on public servers... Minecraft has come a long way... Porter has come a long way... We've all come a long way...
I love that Porter uses the ending melody of musician (last 10 sec) here in the chorus. Using it as a leitmotif to essentially tell us he feels alive because of being a musician.

Idk what it is but this man's music just has an otherworldly quality to it. It almost brings on a feeling of nostalgia without actually making me reflect on anything from the past. This song came at the PERFECT time. I'm finally starting to find purpose in my life and live for the things I want to do. It's taken me years of struggle, depression and bouts with suicidal ideations. But maybe all that was worth it, maybe all of that was to mold me into the person I'm meant to be. Maybe it's okay I'm never satisfied with experiencing something and have to keep doing more and more until I've seen all I can. Maybe it's a gift that I'm still trying to feel alive. This song shows me that my pain, my struggles, were always gifts to me. They showed me how strong I am and gave me purpose in my life. Fuck, this song is the one that resonates with me the most at this current moment in my life. Thank you, Porter.

Side note: I remember one night where I decided to try out a new burger place that was about a 30min drive for me, so I got in the car and turned the radio way up and played this song over and over again. It was so great driving at night with the windows down, feeling the nice cool breeze, looking at the night sky while having this song was blasting through the radio, driving to a new area and seeing new places, while also being very excited for my burger. Both the drive there and back was so much fun! Despite the fact that my life is very rocky at the moment, this little adventure made me so happy. Ah, good times. Out of the more than 500 albums I’ve listened to, this one is my absolute favorite. Despite that, it’s almost difficult to listen to. It’s incredibly intense for me emotionally. It’s like staring at the sun.

I just had a revelation about this song. To me, it's about how as a creative, you always strive for more and more, to try and make yourself, well, feel alive, and come alive but when you actually accomplish something being so self critical that you aren't actually able to fully embrace your work. So you do it again and again, in a never ending cycle of struggle and trying to improve to try and chase that feeling of "I finally made it". But it just never comes, because you always want more out of your work. The ending makes me cry every time though, because it's the realization that maybe it's not the art itself will make you feel alive, but who you can impact with it that truly makes you come alive.

It took a while for me to think so, but I think this is genuinely the best song on the album. It's so warm and fuzzy feeling, and you can truly feel that Porter found closure in his struggle. Did not expect a song titled so melancholically to slap this hard. The way it builds kind of reminds me of a Pogo or Liltommyj mix. Lyrically, that last verse calls back to Get Your Wish, thematically; maybe all the struggle of trying to create something is worth it if someone else can get something out of it, maybe it's okay that neither the process nor the praise that accompany it can REALLY leave you satisfied because maybe they're not supposed to. I dunno. That's just my interpretation.
What an album. Sat out on my porch and looked at the moon and sketched a bit and had some chocolate pudding while I listened to it. Not quite the drive to the sunny field that Porter recommended, but the album released at nighttime in my time zone.

Edit: Coming back to this I've finally figured out what this is. This song is like the moment at the end of the film where everything comes full circle. Its the resolution, the space in which our protagonist can take a moment to breathe and apprieciate all they hold dear as the emotions of the journey rush through them. And we as a the audience an breathe a collective sigh of relief as hope for the future is finally restored.

What a fucking journey I been on. No skips, no fast forwards, no spoiling myself to hear the "drops" listening from start to finish. This felt like a once in a lifetime journey.
