I just love these…
It seems like there would be a better way to support the front of the bed than to use the drawers. If you want something out of a drawer the bed has to be put up and that could be a problem if a partner was still sleeping or you just didn't feel like putting up the bed after getting up. If I was out by myself I would probably want leave the bed down so I could lay things on the side I wasn't sleeping on.
I have an 04 Suburban. 5.3 engine is fine but transmission was reworked before I bought it and started having issues a second time= rebuilding #2. 2 radiators, 1 water pump, instrument cluster rebuild. Transfer case motor, both front wheel bearings and half shafts. All at 177K. Normal maintenance? Well you be the judge. BUT I still have it and am thinking of living in it around Quartzite next January and February.
Seems like you bought an abused vehicle. The previous owner might not even changed most of the fluids.
Do you sell just the drawer/sleeping platform? By itself.
Not to sound stupid but do you have the plans for this as in dimensions of the plywood. Would live to build this for my 2500 Suburban this winter for spring steelhead season. Thank you for your help in saving me valuable fishing time. By the way a new subscriber.

I am curious, why and how did you do the wood ceiling?
We insulate underneath and it helps with condensation.
What is the height of the storage drawer?
First, love your builds, logistically I wasn't able to get one, unfortunately. So, I noticed that your drawers have gotten bigger. What was your rationale for going larger? I think I would prefer to be about to sit up in the back since I'm 6'2". Debating if I should go for more storage space or head space for my build. Thanks!
We ultimately decided more storage was optimal vs more headroom.
Are there any tie down or anchor points under 2nd or 3rd seats? Looking to add drawers/sleep platform too and trying to figure out how to secure the box..

Thanks! Ours is a full size mattress that we trim down a couple inches.
Do you anchor the platform into the truck frame?
Does a top of the line fully built out model stay within the vehicles GVWR with passengers and a full tank of gas?

You say the Twin mattress is cut down to 48" wide, but Twin mattresses are 39" wide..
Can you confirm, or I'll have to find a Suburban to measure that myself (as I plan my own build)..
I answered it myself.. The width IS 48", which is a few inches cut off of a FULL sized mattress.
If you build one yourself, the twin will leave about 11 inches of empty space.
