"Polishing Motorcycle Plastic" - yeah okay, did you? Didn't see you do plastic? Wasn't that metal? Came here for the plastic part, leaving here without the part...

I'd be curious to know what you'd recommend for the plastic console insert on many Harleys. They fog over like car headlamps so correct them the same way you'd do a headlight?
ArmorAll Outlast Trim & Plastic Restorer pretty much got the inset on my ‘98 Springer looking like new after about five applications. I was pretty impressed, all considered.
Hi AJ, how's it going? Chemical Guys Moto Metal Polish polishes and shines chrome, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, brass, and even titanium. The light polishing formula is blended with ultra-refined abrasives and metal cleansers that restore a mirror shine to polished metals. Moto Metal removes light stains, oxidation, tarnish, bluing, road tar, water spots, filth, and grime to reveal a show-winning shine. Check it out below and thanks for watching! www.chemicalguys.com/Moto_Metal_Polish_Cleaner_for_Motorcycles_p/mto10616.htm
Use 0000 steel wool. You can get a bag of it at any auto parts store. I use it all the time on chrome. Does a great job with removing rust & minor pitting. Just be careful because the steel wool breaks down into small particles of steel. You’ll want to vacuum off the floor area and blow down the bike with compressed air after cleaning the chrome.
@@anthonyportis3443 Absolutely fine. Just do a small section to make sure that you situation is not the exception, but I'd imagine you'll be fine. Cheers.
Try using less polish, five dime size drops is all it takes, also don't forget to prime the pad with pad conditioner or clay luber at the least. Make sure to spread the polish out over the paint surface. Work the polish in slowly unless you're using a rotary polisher. With a dual action polisher, start by placing the machine on the paint and maxing out the speed setting to start polishing. Most of the time you've used too much product, it's a common thing. Try it again, and let us know if the same thing happens. C.G. Alex -
Hi Charlie, yes! You can use the Clay Bar to decontaminate any exterior surface that is shiny or clear, such as paintwork, glass, clear plastic, and polished metal surfaces. Just be careful around stickers or decals if your bike has them. You should definitely clay bar your bike if you are planning on polishing! Thanks for watching, Charlie, and make sure to pick up your premium CG clay bar before the 4th of July sale ends!

This isn't plastic though, Harley fairings are metal.. I wanted to know how to remove swirls and scratches from plastics as I'm sure polishing plastics is a completely different process to metal..
Hi there, you don't polish plastic because there's no clear coat unless it's a headlight. You might have to sand the plastic, but you could damage it that way.
Brilliant, thank you. So is there anything you can do to for the plastics, I'm guessing even a filler glaze might do more harm than good? Would you do anything other than a shampoo and wax?
You only have two options, applying trim dressing to keep plastic from fading and cracking, or apply a ceramic coating to protect the plastic from becoming damaged.
The Moto Line SS Remover is perfectly safe to be used on any plastic fairings. It's able to remove scratches, swirls, water spots, and other sorts of imperfections.
Funny how a Harley bike owner doesn’t want you to take his bike apart, he should be used to it by now, mechanics have to take them apart all the time, if not the parts should vibrate loose all by themselves
Thanks for having so many videos I think I've watch each on half a dozen time and learned alot
what makes the polish specially for bikes? How is it different from car polish?
