Your presentation is quite incorrect in saying that A330-900 can take 440 pax in 3 classes at max range whereas 800 can only take 252. This is simply not so. Both craft are virtually identical except for a difference in fuselage of some 3 meters or 4 rows, which translates to 32 seats in a 2-4-2 configuration or 36 in a 3-3-3 arrangement. Secondly it is also incorrect to say that A330-900 can carry 440 pax at max range of 13,300km or 7,200NM. It can do the range with 290 pax and no cargo, but evidently if you want to cramp 440 people into a very tight low cost economy configuration (not 3 classes as you say) then you have an extra pax weight of 15 tons or 150 pax. As MTOW remains unchanged obviously you can take 15 tons less fuel, which at 5 tons/hour means 3 hours less flying time, or 1,400NM. That means that the LCC configuration would only go 5,800NM, still a considerable distance, but not as much. Considering headwind, the practical distance with reserves would be some 5,200NM. So this brings us to our friend A330-800 with a nominal range of 8,100NM, but with 250 pax, no cargo. Here 400 pax can be squeezed in a low cost single class. As in the other case we have ro offload 15 tons of fuel (fuel consumption here will be 10% less, but for simplicity we will not consider it. So fully loaded this plane can go 6,700NM nominal, 6,100NM effective range with reserves. This will positively be interesting for LCC’s who want to go the distance. So far Asian low cost carriers like Cebu, Air Asia and others are using the A330-300 with even shorter range than 900. This will of course be a niche market, but I do hope that it will sell some 100 planes over a 20 year lifespan period

hi
767'th like. lol
I love Airbus but I really don't like the A330. I would love to see the end of the A330. Reactivate the A350-800, do an A322 and do a whole new airplane to take one middle of the market, 767 and smallest 787. Doubt it will happen but one can hope and dream...

Honestly only AIR ASIA has ordered the A330 900 in significant numbers. Also Emirates, because their good days are over. Nobody else. Better to buy a A350 or a 787.
787>>>>>>>> a330
Depends on the routes
WRONG
A330 is bigger
i rode a B787 domestic and i forogt how it feels because it was a few years ago but fly A330-300 every year
Depends on the Model
Don't forget that the Standard seating for the 787 is 3-3-3..so one more as the a330
