I watch this and feel so disconnected with my tech, used to upgrade everything and now i fear bricking devices cause i can't afford to replace them. Easy video to watch
I used to be really deep into it too. Lately I prefer just having stuff work. I have not messed with anything on my Mingda Magician x2 or Sovol SV06. This update did give a ton of options for the ET5x. The screen is tougher because of how much is stuffed in it. I’ve gotten to a point where it works well for me.
Let's go nice to see you again, been a busy week unfortunately! Lions got flexed to primetime and lets hope the Seahawks win so that they have a shot to get there! I am super excited for your game it will be awesome!
I know the feeling with the busy week! Nice to make it to a weekend. Crazy to have a prime time game. A win would be great even in the Seahawks get a win... I always enjoy beating the Packers! 😉Thanks tons for the note bud!
@@HLModTech Yeah very happy for the weekend for sure. Let's hope Baker can lead the Rams to a win because your city deserves the playoffs more than any other!
Amen bud! I keep hearing little hints that Stafford wants to play too... Would be kinda cool if it was Stafford that willed the rams to a win that helped the Lions.
@HL ModTech having upgraded to Marlin, whilst you can use the pause at layer option with M600, you can also use the Filament Change option in the Post Processing Scripts list I haven't tried the "Use Firmware Configuration" yet, try that tomorrow hopefully.
Thank you for your help. I was at last succesfull installing marlin 2.1x (config anet 5pro) to my anet et5x which has pro motherboard . I am now printing calibration cube from my computer using usb link. My only problem is media inti fail error, and not reading sd card, and get printing from sd card.🙂
Super cool that you have it working via USB. I have not heard of that error before. First time I have heard of one that has a swapped mobo. When you picked the config, which one did you choose?
That may be the issue. I am not sure what sort of component differences there were between the machines. Obviously not too many if you have it printing. 👍
today after a lot of updates with editing several sentences in config files at last I succedded to see sd card. I don't know if the original config.. h contains the following block like this (because I played a lot): /** * SD CARD: ENABLE CRC * * Use CRC checks and retries on the SD communication. */ //#define SD_CHECK_AND_RETRY But it worked when I changed this block as above (commenting the last line) @@HLModTech
You can use the same steps to put it on there. Just choose the correct configs. I do have a video where I updated my et4 plus, but this is the newer teqnique. ruclips.net/video/dyTOkUW0aas/видео.html
I have stuck with the manual leveling. I am not much of a modder of printers. For the money I think you would be wiser to buy a new printer that was designed to auto level from the start. I love my Minda Magician X2 and Sovol SV06!
My bad. You are correct. I have the ET4x too and they do not. 🤦♂️ That said, I have not messed with the ET5x other than to use the z offset in the control panel.
Great Video, I completed the steps as outlined several times, for some reason I can not do Bed Leveling and when I try to print the print head is about 30mm mover the bed? Any ideas?
3 cm is crazy. I used the z adjustment to fine tune mine. It was pretty slick. I used guess and check till I had it where I wanted. I think mine was +.02. You are working with an ET5x, right?
@@HLModTech yes the ET5X I did change the hot end to the BondTech DDX 3 with a copperhead and slice engineering hot end. @@HLModTech I physically set the hot end to the table with power off, powered on and set the gap with a 4mm feeler gauge, then set the probe. When I select home the x moves to the switch and stops. Dear friends, I need help: i have an ET5 on which i have installed marlin 2.1 thanks to this excellent tutorial When I try auto home, the Z axis doesn't stop and the head slams against the bed. The proximity sensor lights up when the printing head is close to the surface; thinking the contact was not working I tried it and it seems to be OK (it is powered at 20V, when away from the bed I read on the signal pin about 6V, when near it goes to 0V). I thought the print head stopped its motion triggered by the proximity sensor signal... Any ideas? Thanks in advance! Alessio

Dear @@HLModTech, the printer has definitely gone crazy, now is also reporting wrong temperatures (180°C for both bed and noozle). Most likely the motherboard is broken. It *was* a ET5 pro Anyway, thanks for your support!
I cannot guarantee it fixed anything. It really just gives you more control of your printer. If that is a hardware failure... it will still be after adding Marlin. I might try to update the Anet firmware first to see if that fixes it.
Hi, I have a problem that when printing an element, the printer stops using this software, before the update there was no such problem, the extruder immediately stops, after a while it prints and so on, it stops and prints, which makes the print look terrible, it has blobs. Et4 Pro
@@HLModTech Only the stock software does not give any freedom, I can't even develop the speed or anything, or even calibrate the steps, because the eeprom is blocked, the PID is also blocked, the temperature can fluctuate, average work with the stock software ;p

Yes. Just make sure you pick the correct config for yours. There were like 3 different ET4 machines back in the day. Does yours home up? Or have a capacitor?
@HL ModTech this isn't working for me, but suspect it might be the STLink. I've checked the pinouts, mine are different to yours. When I try to upload it fails with ... Error: libusb_open() failed with LIBUSB_ERROR_NOT_SUPPORTED In the terminal tab. However, checking device manager in Window (11) the STM32 STLink is appearing under other devices with an exclamation because there are no drivers?
Yep, as I thought driver issue. Obviously the generic "thing" I purchased from Amazon had no drivers, links, support etc. Quick Google and I found this page... www.st.com/en/development-tools/stsw-link009.html had to register, grabbed the driver, installed it a voila all sorted
