An Australian Christmas is so hot and humid. I've done palm trees with beach themed decorations for the last 8 years. This year I've been inspired to go back to a traditional theme. My mother, who loved Christmas so much, passed away 20 years ago. To honour her memory, we bought a huge tree and for the first time, I'm doing garlands over doorways and decorating bookcases, tables and entryway. So luxe & fabulous. I was just gifted my Mother-in-law’s old fashion country ornaments. They are handmade and red & white themed. I am now gonna have a Mowfield tree every year & add in my take to reminisce about the 25 yrs we’ve enjoyed going to N.C. Over our married life.
The past 4 years my theme has been more ‘Dr.Seuss’ bright reds lime greens lots of swirl designs, long spirally things coming out the top.... grand daughters loved it! ❤️

Gold, white, neutrals, added some blush pink accents. Really looks like an enchanted Christmas feel. I made a huge wreath to go over my couch that matched the tree. Lots and lots of ribbon going all over the place.... made a huge bow on top and hung a beautiful white and gold Santa at the bottom. I’m certainly not an interior decorator like you but I get inspiration from you!! Thanks!!

I was hit by Hurricaine Matthew and then Irma so I've been displaced. All my decor is in storage. Watching you Rebecca decorate and enjoying this 25 days has helped me look forward to the holidays despite my situation. I even got a tiny ceramic tree ready to put on the tv entertainment center here at the rental home. Thank you for inspiring me to celebrate even in a tiny vignette style! The blue with silver, white, crystal is beautifully elegant but when you were adding rustic nests & birds I thought What? I LOVE it! Thanks for showing me I can mix it up that way. Since I became a grandma I decided to bring the “happiest place on earth” to our home.... yup Disneyland! So my theme is Disney but every year I change up my ball ornaments and this year my color theme is pink, purple, and turquoise🤗 yes it’s different but that’s what I like to do, im not one who sticks to trends. It’s colorful, bright and full of fun and that’s my perspective on Christmas this year 🙏🏽💖💜💙☃️🎁🎄
I really love copper and gilded gold with antique white and turquoise accents . It has become my favorite sense 2008 or 2009. Everyone loves this tree with amber lights and family photos. I have 2 or 3 trees every year so that I can switch things up but, this one is always the main tree. I also use wired ribbon on it as well. It just feels like Christmas to me when It up. I have taken a short cut along the way that I find so helpful. I buy nice matching garland, decorate the garland and then wrap it around the tree after the lights, to help fill in the tree a little more in less time.

Beautiful tree Rebecca. I love the cobalt blue. It reminds me of our tree when I was a kid. All the lights were cobalt blue. My parents had a lot of very shiny silver ornaments that reflected the blue light so we'll. I'm going to give the vignette idea a try this year. I love the idea of little stories. I want copper to be the overall color and I'm not sure of the other ones yet. Fun Fun!

I'm doing Black, goldish/silverish/ and white colors. I'm also using some natural items with a rustic feel, like bird houses, owls, and spheres. I love rustic decor, but I'm also a Leo, so I tend to like over the top its. I matched something's up and I think with a little playing around with paint, I'm not only going to enjoy myself, but I may just outdo myself. I can't wait.

My dad used to decorate our tree with blue (cobalt) ornaments with a flocked tree. I LOVED the look ever since I was little :)

Gorgeous! That blue is incredible! This is the first year I've stepped away from the normal red and green. I bought a black, pre lit tree and decorated it with white and silver. I made a white faux fur skirt for it. It came out so nice. I can't stop looking at it!

I'm in a small house so I have a table top tree. What I love is that it looks like the top half of a full size tree. I've scaled the decoration to keep that illusion. This year I am very excited about adding snow white ostrich plumes to the topper. Rising from the center of that array will be my silver filigree starburst. I've made the anchor for the star all but invisible so it appears to hover in the air. The star is held aloft by a thin but rigid wire. The lower length of wire fits snugly inside a very narrow copper tube that I lashed to the tree trunk. The fragile star is easily detached for storage. I leave the tube attached to the tree and the copper oxidizes to the color of the tree trunk. Note that the support wire can be quite long before it would start to bend under the weight of the topper ornament. You can alter the color of the wire along its length, finishing with green floral tape as it descends into the tree.
Dave with his buzzer to find a bulb that has gone out WOW THAT IS GENIUS where can I get one of those? I live in England and have never seen something like that.
Also have you noticed Dave works at super quick speed. Where can I get a Dave to help at Christmas. My husband works at the “in a minute” speed for tree decorating.

Please tell how he found the light that was out! We have four branches that have all the lights out. My husband used that gun looking thing to test the bulbs for hours with no luck.

I love the cobalt blue. Was it one or two years ago I think I remeber you trying it with your bookcase or something? Then the office tree last year - so it's great to see the cobalt as the big focal point this year. Sidenote: the lights going out is why I personally avoid prelit trees (that's me though). Love it! Can't wait to see the house tour!

@ Carmen Cardwell, Thank you for trying to help me, Carmen. :) I too thought that's maybe where Rebecca purchased the tree but last month I searched both the Shinoda website, e-mailed & called only to come up empty handed (yes I was determined, lol) After watching the video several more times where she puts up the tree and has to call for help because the top portion of lights were out, she called a gentleman she referred to as her electrician at Canterbury Gardens, so I decided to investigate. (just call me Perry Mason, lol)...Turns out that gentleman was not truly an electrician but rather the owner of Canterbury Gardens, Dave Hansen, whom I presume she did quite a bit of business with since she had him on speed dial and he gladly came running to her call for help. 😊 Sadly though, after 36 years in business, Canterbury Gardens closed earlier this year. 😢 I then searched the photo file on their old website and there I found the tree. Mystery solved, but not quite, so I decided to dig a wee, deeper. I knew if I could reach Dave Hansen, surely he could tell me where he purchased the tree or if he knew another who sold the same tree. Upon finding his contact info online, I telephoned him and he actually answered and was very kind listening, as I explained my reason for calling. He knew the exact tree I was referring to (which came in 7&1/2ft & 9ft like Rebecca's)He told me that he special ordered a few hundred every year but can no longer get them as the large wholesale manufacturer in China only accepts huge orders now for 1000's of trees and they didn't think there was a big enough market for a pricier tree. However, I think the $400.00 he sold the 7 &1/2ft tree for & the $600.00 he sold the 9ft tree for was a reasonable price for a truly unique & higher quality tree. Even though Canterbury Gardens closed, Dave still sells trees during the Christmas season, so I gave him all my contact info. and asked him to please let me know if the time ever comes in the future that he once again can get that tree and he promised to do so. Although not the outcome I had hoped for, it was truly pleasurable speaking with this kind gentleman and also rewarding having solved the CHRISTMAS TREE MYSTERY! Which by the way, he quite fondly referred to as the Robeson tree! 🥰 Merry Christmas Everyone! 🌲

I just love the cobalt blue, and all the other things you added. I went to hobby lobby last week and bought some things, mainly a Santa Claus, I remember the Santa Clause you had last year. They had so many of them and I bought one. he has red and black checkerd shirt , and brown boots. I had a hard time three times I had to change what Santa Claus I would buy, they had so many.Thanks for sharing.
This year i did like a frozen theme in my living room,all white, teal and clear, my tree is decorated in teal balls i made, snowflakes and icecicles and used feather boas in the tree to mimic snow,so far this has been my favorite theme yet

My granddaughter Anna will help me she is four almost so my prized vintage ornaments from 30 plus years of collecting are tucked safely away until she is a little older. This year at a thrift store I bought single variety of green bulbs to go with last year plastic shiny balls ( I can't remember their colour) to put on my white tree that is pre lit with clear lights! Love love Christmas I plan to make a tree skirt in pinks and leftover quilting christmas fabrics Then I will add old crocheted kitchen oven dailies that are in pinks greens Red's and greens I am on the hunt for more of these! If it is completed this year I'll send a picture if I think of it!

I remember that year you did half a tree and had a very large mirror behind it to make it look like a whole tree. This year my Christmas tree theme is red, gold, and white. The whole tree just sparkles. I am in love with it this year. I have three trees up total because I plan to entertain guests. I let my 4 year old do one tree on his own, it's cute but I had to wait until he went to bed to "fix" it. Haha.

LOL... I get it :-) I used to do that too. My kids always thought the Christmas fairy came in the night and moved things around...LOL I couldn't help myself. Heck, if theres a tooth fairy, why can't there be a Christmas fairy ;-) RR
