  • The Christmas tree is the STAPLE of Christmas decorating, and let me tell you--it seems like I've tried every theme you could imagine! To keep my tree decorating fresh this year, I decided to take a modern route with these Balsam Hills trees! I love the way these THREE trees turned out as I leaned into the Frosted Forest Holiday theme.
I had so much fun stepping out of my box with these new trees, and I hope you guys are inspired to go all out with your trees as well!!
Let me know below what color pallet and theme YOU chose for this year?? I'm excited to hear what each of you come up with!
    STEPS:
    1. Assemble the tree, and add lights if necessary.
2: Fluff the branches according to your liking.
    3. Fix the area you want to camouflage.
    4. Add the nature.
Optional: Now would be the time to frost your tree if you opt to!
    5. Add Ornaments!
    6. Frost with Icicles to finish!

    "Thanks for the feedback,

Same here with us. Our last tree was in 2019. We didn’t know how our life would change. I was not planning on putting up a tree this year either but my hubby wanted for us to put one up. Got a new tree to create new memories. I got a flocked tree and using Rebecca’s suggestion used grape vines. Used mostly cream, gold, mercury glass and burgundy for the pop of color.

This is a beautiful Christmas tree, I am from europe and for us we go to forest and collect things and also buy things to put on the tree, we love to see the tree , usually American have a lot of stuff on so you don't see the tree, and that is fine, but for me this is good memories, and made me emotional. THANK YOU for showing us , you bring happiness to our lives, beautiful lady.

My husband has never watched any of your videos till this one. LOVE how you added the different “steps”. All I had to say to him was watch and complete steps 1 to 3 except adding the moss which I would do. All done while I was at work. My colours this year are the same as yours except for the red. I added a dark burgundy instead.
Great video so easy to follow and quick. Love that.

When I was a kiddo... We went over my cousins house. She had a live tree that looked very similar to your artificial tree's. While we didn't say anything... we were very good children, we laughed our head's off after. Being used to a very full tree... we thought this one looked like a Charlie Brown Christmas tree. Of course now that I'm older I can appreciate the look. My cousin was very talented as far as decorating goes. And way before her time actually. Love your color theme, Rebecca. Thank you for putting this together as a playlist. You're the Best.

Really love the direction the trees are going in this year! I much prefer a tree where the ornaments dangle and can be actually seen rather than resting on the branch below. My only hesitation is the honeysuckle vine going through it. Reminds me of bind weed and the gardener in me want to pull it out !

I didn't think I was going to love that tree, but of course, you have proven me wrong Rebecca. I have 3 trees throughout my home, but my "main" tree is always the traditional colors, red, green, gold, silver, and white. This year I am bringing in a bit more burgundy and evergreen ribbon along with some new ornaments. Some new cedar garlands for over my windows and always, lots and lots of lights. I love your holiday videos so very much!! Thank you for inspiring us all!

I like the open limb trees so there are great spaces to hang the ornaments. This year I put up a 9 ft one in the family room where we live and used red finial ornaments, heavily flocked pinecones, red balls, red berries and white porcelain birds. At the top I placed 2 red satin bows and 8 branches of draping white berries. Next year I plan to add the clear!

This year my Christmas/Winter decor will be "white, silver, blue and crystal" reminiscent of an icy New England (where I live). Last year it was the warmth of the New England home fires with "red and gold", and next year it will be "brown, green and copper" for our New England woods. I have used this rotation for a number of years....and I love it!

Festive greetings from the UK! Much thanks for making these great Christmas decorating videos. They very much put us in the holiday mood. We live in Bath in the UK, a city with many Georgian (I.e. circa 1800) homes that have very high ceilings, so we can easily have an 8ft tree. Myself and daughter decorate (trim) the tree, your videos really help with new ideas so that our tree is not the same each Christmas time.
Here for people with artificial trees it's become common to put up the tree and room decor out on the first weekend of December. It's completely dark by 4pm so the extra lights are very welcome!

We will have 8 trees this year. All different themes depending on room they are in. Favourites: white tree with cobalt blue, gold/amber, and white theme; livingroom tree with mainly rosegold ornaments and gold, silver and crystal accents; and a heavily flocked tree with only Santa themed ornaments, a touch of red plaid, and red berries.
Our favourite of yours is the iced/crystal tree that you did in your old livingroom (in cobalt and when you had the nutcracker soldiers in the room). Love your channel.

So lovely!!! My husband has been a pastor and director of a residential alcohol and drug recovery center(Wings of Life, Mobile, AL) for 20+ years. We are in the process of moving from a downtown property which was originally a Catholic School that my 95 year old mother-in-law went to when she was a girl.
We are moving to a heavily-wooded 40 acre property where we will add regenerative farming jobs for the residents to participate in and we are beginning to add the next phase of our plan for recovery. We will have families reunite on the property before leaving so that they re-establish their family relationships with support and community before they go back to “life”.
This style of tree would be so very perfect for our dining room.

Last year I used the black buffalo print for the front porch with red trim and it came out better than I thought. However, this year I didn't know. Your woodsy theme is simple yet elegant. I have a 5 foot faux tree and wanted to put it in front of the picture window in my second bedroom that I turned into a small den. I am going to use your idea plus I have some flocked picks to put in between the branches that I saw you demonstrate in another video. I would love to send a picture to you when it's finished. I bought 2 Balsam Hill trees last year. I now have 6 trees around the house for Christmas. Balsam Hill is the only good place to buy trees from. My word, they look real and I just love the quality too. Mine are not pre-lit as I want to have control over changing the lights and don't want to deal with outages in branches. I find it easier to fluff out the branches at each level as you put them on. So fluff and add the branches as you go. My trees are a fuller style and it takes me about 2 hours per tree to fluff. Labour of love and once done, it makes a huge difference. Fluffing is soooo important.
PS. Your Christmas series are everything!!! I love all your design videos. But to get in the mood for Christmas and all the work ahead, I watch your videos to get me into gear. LOL

Love the soft foresty trees, although Rebecca, I hope you don't misunderstand but I (and many of us I'm sure) would actually love to watch you much longer and see you put on every single piece!

Stunning as usual. I am a bit ocd about Christmas but this year I have had to accept the creative talents of my 3 and 2 year old grandsons. They decorated their own tree with their bulldozers and grouped ornaments beside the lights to get the most sparkle. I think it will be the only tree in the house this year. They love to touch and rearrange everything 🥳

Beautiful! The arched brick windows are stunning “ frames” for the trees! Just elegant and glorious! You’re so blessed to have that room! It’s my fave, and lends itself to so many different styles and decor options!

I've been watching your holiday decorating videos for years and always love everything that you do, and everything you show us (the viewers). I love that you are using a more traditional Christmas color palette this year of red, green, white, clear/frosted, and gold.

I have a very similar tree to those 3, had it around 6 yrs, we've probably used it 2-3 times. Much as we love it, we spend soo long getting annoyed at the gaps, that we always go back to our traditional tree the next year.
Yours turned out great, Red, Green, White and Clear really work together, can't wait to see all 3 trees fully finished.

Black watch tartan w a rustic woodland-esc feel!! We got a scottish terrier so I thought it was fitting. Doing 3 trees in our living room in varying sizes and decorating each one a little differently w the same elements. Cant wait to get everything set up next week. 🤗

Such a beautiful tree! It seriously looks like some tall(12-14’) real trees I’ve done, but better lol. I love how you have more space to add ornaments with the dainty (yet grand) style tree . Flocking it was definitely the way to go for sure 😉 Christmas decorating is my job now, and I can’t say how much this gets me into the spirit. I set up my tree last week and I’ve been waiting for this video to get me started, and I just can’t wait now☺️ I can’t believe I’ve been waiting for these tree videos for over a decade now, but you are the one, Rebecca, who gets me in the spirit ❤️🎄

I decided to do three Christmas trees this year too. I have two 5 foot trees flanking a 9 foot tree. For me, everything is being done in various shades of red and burgundy. My trees are flocked too, so it's quite interesting.
