  • Export your Microsoft Access database to the cloud.
Using the newly announced Export to Dataverse functionality in Microsoft Access you can, now, export your data to the cloud based database called Dataverse. Once exported the data will remain in your Access database linked to the cloud version. Once in Dataverse you can build a Power App on top of the data. This opens up the possibility of using the other Power Platform products and services on your Access data. For example using Power Automate or even using Azure services like Data Factory or Cognitive Services on the data.

It needs to include a note that your IT dept may disable full functionality of Dataverse so that while you can upload to Dataverse via Access and connect to it via Access you can't do anything else, as far as I find anyway

Just remember when you are saving to the cloud, you are saving to someone else's computer. That is why they say "save to the cloud". They never say "save to someone else's computer". If they did no one would use it.

I don't know. But the version I am using is Version 2205 (Build 15225.xxxx Click-to-run). As far as I know once you have purchased Office 365 you always have access to the latest desktop Office apps including Access.
