After a year of using my sharepoint. I have upgraded my Access Design and revisited your video for instructions. I guess that I am less confused now, but you really made it simple to follow. MUCH APPRECIATED!!

    Thanks for this.
I was under the impression that you couldn't link Access to Sharepoint - I read it somewhere. You have just proved otherwise.
    Again, thank you.

Many thanks for this. I have written a split Access2016 database for my organisation and we are moving to Microsoft 365 on Valentine's Day. Found this which is the answer to a prayer.

Thank you? This may help me end my stupid process of turning forms into pictures and it's ridiculously time consuming a task that should be eliminated I got find the answer here. SQL is just a pain if I get the tables in I can't make forms with like over a hundred fields like I can in Access I would have to know code that's just to much for me. This a team meeting me myself and I. Just have to do this but backwards I will do this first then figure out how to do it backwards sounds like a plan the team has come to consensus the path around SQL is here like a blind man with a cane probing my way bumping into walls over and over I will maneuver the maze somehow someday I have to go turn my forms in Access in PDF then into pictures then process them upload them to my sites just to express the data in my forms this I call the process of stupidity. I just want to plaster this form on to the wall or page on my site someday I will figure out a way around my stupidity

Thank you for your video. I would like to share my database with my coworkers over SharePoint. I currently do not have the ability to create a site. If I have a split database and I put my back end file with my tables in a shared folder under Documents (in site library) can I give my users copies of the front end file to store on their desktops to all access the same back end tables at the same time?

Thanks. Is it possible to secure your backend i think it is now the sharepoint tables in this demonstration? For instance they can add new data but cant delete or edit. Or maybe a method to make a backup for these tables but wait a sec. Maybe it has autobackup or revision history feature already as it will be a 365 product on cloud

Would be interesting to see what the SharePoint list created for each table looks like as we would most likely carry out data backups from there.

    1. How to edit the tables on the SharePoint when needed?
    2. Also, I hope adding a new table also the same way we added all the tables at first.
    3. If we have Excel linked tabels then how to move it to SharePoint. And if the Excel linked tabels are updated by power query will that work in this case.

Thank you for your video but I am having issues where for some reason MS ACCESS creates 3 fields in each of my tables called: "Title, Color Tag, Compliance". I have no idea why, it doesn't appear in my sharepoint list, I cannot delete them and is messes with the display of my forms. Does anyone know how to get rid of this?

My forms are odd I use forms to express data not to collect I use them more of a output the forms contain over 120 fields I never used templates or wizards the field each record in every table in a day every field is a calculation of a body stars asteroids planets moon sun many calculations I doubt if this would work with my forms I have no education in database design I did many things not meant to be done in access the migration of my forms into SQL this gives me hope

  • @beancount61

I doubt this would work with my database. The _be file is about 1.2GB and the front end uses union queries and crosstab queries which I understand are forbidden in sharepoint.

    • @smp9992

SP adds some of it's own fields to each list. One of them is Title, so you need to rename your Title fieldname to something else

ok, that is good to know, and it works too, BUT if you over 5k rows, your sharepoint will fuck upp. Never seen such a slow thing. If you have that less data, then you dont need a sharepoint, so that sharepoint is pointing out itself. Nonsence, for less then 5k rows to set up a sharepoint. Also the update routine is crap, you have to delete all tables , update them local and load up new, like for less then 5k rows this is a process that costs too much time. This is a solution for a simple front end with almost zero recordsets.
