Holy crap thank you dude.. Best video as far as trying to figure out this WMI mess. Mega Thumbs up. I would include this tidbit in the dos box: tasklist | findstr -i "the PID You are looking for" . It'll help you filter out what you are looking for a lot faster
In my case i had to search for it in the CMD and service causing the problem was AUEPmaster.exe, i didn't knew what was that and when i googled it discovered it was an AMD thing (i updated my drivers this morning), i was going to reinstall my drivers but then I found that it means User Experience Program, which is kind of a use information gathering thing of AMD Radeon Software used for giving a better experience, which I remember to have turned on today while updating drivers, so i searched for how to turn it off and i did it from the AMD Radeon Software in just some seconds. Thanks dude for helping me figuring out this! It was taking 20% of my CPU and i was getting insane, i even uninstalled hamachi thinking that was the problem haha
The fact that this bug still exists half a decade later is crazy, Thanks for the video though! I now don't have to listen to my laptop sound like an airplane while having one browser window open.
OH MY GOD thank you! I was searching all over for a fix and I got about halfway on a forum but couldn't find a solution. I ended up just buying a better processor in the meantime which helped a little (the usage went from 20-30% to 10-15%) but didn't fix it. Now it's completely fixed and WMI provider is gone from task manager! The task my PC was hung up on was the AMD user experience program.. what a stupid one. after i opted out it went away Thanks again for this video bro big kisses
i've spent everyday for 2 weeks trying to diagnose my cpu problems. finally had task manager open and saw WMI randomly spiking. this finally helped me narrow down the problem driver. THANK YOU
Thank you so much for your informative video. I had an issue with WMI as well and stopping and restarting the service (as shown in other online videos) fixed the excessive CPU usage issue but your video showed me how to dig further into the problem and identify which process was causing the problem with WMI. Like you, the process ID wasn't listed in task manager but I found it from the command prompt via tasklist command. However, there are still another 2 processes on my PC causing issues with WMI and neither are listed in Task Manager or Tasklist so the search goes on!. Thanks again for your very helpful video. :)
Thanks to your video i found out that the number refers to a spyware/adwares application which was constantly communicating with the system and slowing down the processor ... THANK YOU !
THANK U SO MUCH!!! The culprit was process 5156 which was an amd user experience program, I disabled it and now my cpu usage is back to normal THANKS TO YOU!!
The second solution in this video solved it for me. I found the process ID and it turns out the Razor Game Management Service was causing WMI Provider host to go insane. When I disabled the Game Service it settled right down completely. Thankyou very much for this video it helped me out a lot!
Thank you so much. The WMI Provider costs 6-10% in CPU usage and found this solution. It lead to AUEPMaster.exe and just left in that program inside Radeon Software.
I wasnt able to play multiplayer on a game called "rocket league" and razor cortex was the only app i downloaded before getting the bug and It was useful because my pc is low end
Thank you so much!! I was dealing with these all Night until i find your video, in my case was a GameManagerServices from Razer keyboard u.u but i repair The software and all works fine finally
Thank you very much for this video. It has worked for me! It was chewing up to 50% of my CPU (i7-5930k @ 4.4GHz). For those who can't find the number in the vid, it will most likely be different from Simon's. You need to look for the 'Errors' and what their 'Event ID' Number under the 'Operational' tab. If they all match, click on any of them and look for the 'ClientProcessId = ' under the 'General Tab' below. There should be a number beside it. In my case, it was 4704. Go into Task Manager; Services Tab and look for that number under the 'PID' Tab. It turns out, mine happened to be Razer Games Manager. I un-installed it and it has solved my high CPU usage from WMI Provider Host.
Thank You , Sorry i am French , But this vidéo fix my problem ( for me it's amd user program experience the problem ) It's always actuality for fix wmi. Thank You.
@@SniP3RxSTyLe Ever since Razer came out with their stupid Synapse Beta, it has been causing weird issues so I uninstalled and re-installed a few times and this happened. After uninstalling, I didn't bother to install it again so. Maybe Razers latest update fixed this?
my cpu was sitting at 30% usage at idle, thanks to your awesome video and the helpful people of reddit i'm back to 2% at idle. Higher end games were almost unplayable due to 30-40% of my cpu being used up. Just want to say how thankful I am that you got my pc back to normal. Thanks a ton
I'm trying to fix this issue and searching for the PID codes and whatever in command prompt. But some ID's still don't show up there! what else can I do?
thanks man you are the best but the next tutorial make it with an indian accent, smash the keyboard when you type and your computer must make weird and very loud noises. Thank me later for the tips XD
in Services i paused windows management instructions and it doest even appear anymore and fixed for me but it sometimes freezes me pc so i dont reccomend but normally i cant find other ways how to fix it

Thanks for the video, I followed the instructions, and the issue was the Razer Game Manager. Which I quickly disabled, and stopped from auto startup.
