Awesome! If you had to choose again, would you get the Tele again with single coils, or rather humbuckers? Based on your videos, it seems like the single coils are a great fit for pop punk. I wanted to get this Tele with humbuckers, but apparently the standard humbuckers it comes with aren't that great. Now I'm thinking I might just go with the single coils, as you did. Any regrets, or still happy? If anyone else has some thoughts on this, feel free to share.
Thanks for the comment man! 👊 Well, I had the very same dilemma as you've just described. It was partly the reason I started doing these videos. Honestly, stock humbuckers in basically any Fender tele won't be good enough, so you'd have to replace them anyway for some Seymour Duncans or so. Single coils are great in modern punk rock sound! I like them more than humbuckers, and moreover, it sounds way better in the mix imho. You would be surprised how many bands used them in the studio, just for this quality (Blink 182, Sum41 etc...) They have very distinct sound. Humbuckers tend to be more muddy and sometimes your sound will get lost in the mix. So, the only thing you need is a super high gain amp/pedal/plugin. (Soldano, Dual Rectifier, JCM800, 5150 or any metal amp will do, you'd be suprised how great it works together). People live under the dogma that single coil tele/strat won't have enough gain/output and will sound crappy in poppunk/punkrock. I was there too. But don't worry, you will be rewarded by great sound. This guitar is my number 1 and always will be my favorite. I own more guitars, some even almost triple the price of this one and still, I like this one the most! So, I'd always go with a single coil tele! Good luck!
