FRIDAY_FLOWERS: ESP 8 Dreams to Reality

Welcome to the eighth installment of Friday’s Flowers, where we have personal stories of black men speaking their truth about giving flowers to the ones they love.
This interview features our beloved brother, General Steele w/ Jay Martin.
General Steele talks about FLOWERS and coming to Toronto for the project. He shared the impact that it created and creates by saying, (Mark) “created this rich pool of beautiful people. They probably don’t really know their beauty and strength so I guess it’s our job to kind of reflect that. It’s like walking in the garden you smell love, you smell that, that’s the power of creativity”. We can see the beauty of flowers. We also need to see the same in giving them. As Steele said, “It’s vital to realize this is a reflection of God’s beauty”.
General Steele discusses his collaboration with BELOVED and FLOWERS and how that came to be. I want to also take this time to give Steele his FLOWERS again. As Jay fittingly says at the end of the interview, “dreams to reality”. Who could have imagined having someone with that level of influence see the light of what I’ve been doing and what I’ve been putting out there about the concept, and him aligning with that and saying “What can I do to help?” That doesn’t happen too often. My cup runneth over with gratitude, appreciation, and love for you. 🌺💐🌺💐
