- Petter Solberg VS Oliver Solberg, father & son fought throughout the weekend against the shootout time trial at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2019 (FOS). In this video, you'll find all the best action scenes of their runs. The incredible thing is that these two cars from RallyCross, Petter's Polo GTI WRX and Oliver's Citroen DS3 WRX, both develop about 600hp, registered the second and third places overall in the final classification behind Romain Dumas and his ID.R electric prototype from Pikes Peak. Let me tell you, Petter Solberg is a grand champion, his career speaks for himself, but young Oliver, just 17 years old, drove as I've never seen, despite his driving being dirty and spectacular he has however achieved an incredible time. Congratulations to both and thanks for the beautiful show they gave us.

Petter & Oliver Solberg, padre e figlio, si sono dati battaglia durante tutto il weekend nella lotta contro il cronometro dello shootout al Goodwood Festival of Speed 2019 (FOS). In questo video trovate tutti i passaggi migliori delle loro salite alla vetta. La cosa incredibile è che queste due vetture da RallyCross, la Polo GTI WRX di Petter e la Citroen DS3 WRX di Oliver, entrambe accreditate di 600cv, hanno fatto registrare il secondo e terzo posto assoluto nella classifica finale alle spalle di Romain Dumas ed il suo prototipo elettrico ID.R da Pikes Peak. Lasciatemi dire, Petter Solberg è un grande campione, la sua carriera parla da sola, ma il giovane Oliver, di soli 17 anni ha guidato come ho mai visto fare durante tutte le salite che ho filmato e nonostante la sua guida fosse sporca e spettacolare ha raggiunto comunque un tempo incredibile. Congratulazioni ad entrambi e grazie per lo splendido spettacolo che ci hanno regalato.

I hope he can absorb the best of both styles. It would be spectacular to see him fast & crazy at the same time. I expect big things in Oliver's future. 👍

Yep, but anyway those newer cars almost do everything for them self anyway, they barely need to touch the wheel to drift or go sideway, But always liked Peter Solberg on the older WRC, I don't like modern WRC and don't even watch it or care for it...

@@guily6669 Me too, have always admired Petter Solberg and his driving style on the old WRC cars. I have to tell you that even I, before seeing the current WRC live, was very doubtful. But now that I have been going to the Monte Carlo Rally for three consecutive years and I see them in the race, I'm amazed at how fast and effective they are.
@@Italiansupercarvideo Yeah they are like spaceships with tyres it's no wonder they go faster than ever but at least here in the rally non WRC I only like to see the older Audi's, Datsuns, fords... I don't like much the newer same sounding Toyota's and all similar cars to the WRC ones, the only modern car I like watching here is the Porsche GT3 because of the sound, but it's sad that most cars have been muffled and don't make any good noise, the Evo X 4 example is a disgrace.
Even the Porsche the 1st year it shown up on this rally I was a road commissioner and it made an amazing super crazy sound which the year after up to now they also sadly silenced it and doesn't sound so powerful like the 1st time that literally shaker the tarmac and since I was inches from the car passing by I even had to close my ears but totally loved it :).

Father has the experience and knowledge , the son has the excitement and the unknown to some extend so , yeah its normal for a young man to lack finesse , it will come with age ! Watching peter doing all this stuff hanging half outside the car and half inside it was hilarious , i cant do those things while inside the car ...LOL

The Solberg family DS3 bucks like a wild horse. I can remember that when Petter drove it against Matias Ekstrom and Johan Kristofferson and won a world WRX title, it still had the most soft suspension of the entire field. It's an incredible machine for the young Oliver to learn car control

it would cost quite a lot for a car to sound like this . Those cars cost from 250k to 500k perhaps even more nowadays ! What you hear is mostly the anti lag system , fine racing exhaust system and tires with some braking to it !

Petter Solberg is the G.O.A.T, I grew up watching him and Sabstian Loeb,
Petter is the only motivation and reason I own Subaru Impreza WRX Sti to this day his son Olivier is on a come up...Awesome, in his Rally days he used the WRC to win the championship.

And these days Oliver is running Blue and Gold in the US rally scene...

By the looks of it, Oliver turned his rear wing down to make the rear end less grippy!
It must be said that Oliver's Citroen has an inadequate set-up for this race while Solber's Polo has been regulated by the track and is much more stable with minimal roll.

I love RX, in june every year They come to Hell in Norway, (Hell RX, and yes, name of place is actually Hell) and its insane.. i live 500m from track and gets free tickets every year :)

I have 1 question in my mind that have no answer yet.
Does a rally car using air conditioner?
No
No it doesnt because if you check when every time you switch on the air con in your car it reduces the engines power and that would be excess weight too since its all about reducing weight. They use some vents instead
Rally cars use hood vents to keep the cabin pressurized, which helps prevent dust from entering. One can expect some cooling as a side effect.
And as the guy above stated air conditioners take energy from the engine via the serpentine belt aka fan belt, pump belt, etc. Theres no need for air conditioning in a car like this anyway
